TH, I really dont understand why people arent allowed to rebuff inside these dungeons or caves?

There is no way to finish them without dying and doctors rezzing.

Everyone seems to have missed a huge point here. There is no opportunity to expand the STORY here and have things happen in the game in ways that happened in the movies.

1) There is no way to SNEAK in to any location. (Leia snuck around, Han snuck around, Luke snuck around, Obi-wan snuck around!)

2) There is no place for smugglers here. Why can't I slice into the computer terminals? Why do I, a master smuggler, need a computer disk to access a terminal?

3) You can't distract the DTs or any of the Novas at all.

This is just a shoot shoot shoot, get a loot drop, shoot shoot shoot, use a loot drop, shoot shoot shoot, finish dungeon.

I am rather disappointed that SOE thinks so little of it's players as to create this shooting gallery with no option at any point of actually using subterfuge or clever distraction or SNEAKing. There are players who prefer to think and not just shoot every second of the game.

I like it being hard. I like the troopers having high HAMs. I like the fact that it's tough to complete.

For future "dungeons," please include some actual adventure elements such as the ability to hide, sneak around areas (with the help of a smuggler for instance), slice terminals, and such.

The cloning process seems a little out of place for this dungeon. Decay and wounds effectively end the adventure for a player. At that point you might as well take the escape pod and go home.

Allowing pets is a bit silly. Having a rancor or graul mauler inside a spaceship that size? come on. maybe razor cats or some of the other medium sized pets but rancors? please.

Don't feel too good about no buffs either. Either create a limited area in which doctors can buff or allow buffing. Food and drink is barely going to get you through.

I'm sorry, if you were expecting something innovative from this set of designers instead of a bang on the rock with a hammer approach, you're bound to be disappointed.

These guys simply do not have that sort of creativity in them. Hell, they can't fix the kriffing butt slide bug.

Hello TH, a question for you if you don't mind...

Has the Development/QA team gone throughcompleted the current "live server" version of theCorvette internally without using builder characters? Me thinks no.

If the goal was to target an extremely small percentage of the player base withthis addition, I'd say you passed with flying colors.

If this is an instanced dungeon, then why haven't you made it so that it can level loot and difficulty to the capability of the person or group that goes in?

If you have several combat elites and a doctor or two, then make it very hard, FOR THEM.

IF you have a noobie group of non-elites, then make it hard for them.

If you have a bunch of smugglers, make it hard for them.

Don't just say, every NPC has 100K plus HAMs and everything will shoot you on sight..

Don't eliminate the possibility that players may actually want to use their cleverness and play within the paradigm of their profession.

Truly instantiate the dungeon. Mold it to the data that populates it. The player capabilities should determine how hard the dungeon is. Make it so that Uber-groups have uber-difficulty and noobie groups have noobie difficulty.

This is a most intriguing idea - the best yet, and probably the most constructive one of all. This might fix the 4k+ damage to EVERYONE that does it and make it more leveled... and make it equally difficult for all involved based onthe mix ofskill levels and professions. I love this idea. While I enjoyed the corvette just as it was even tho it was hard, I can see this as being a really great installation to making it even better.

The only way for the devs to start tweaking is to get some constructive criticism, and whining just isn't gonna do it. Majorslappy's post is by far the best one I've seen on here that can actually give the devs something to work with. /deepbow ... thank you.

I guess my impression was that it was going to be hard, but not as unbelievably nasty as it was. Should have been billed as an adventure for only the super super elites. I understand tactics need to play an incredible role in this thing, but how can tactics stop these 1 shot knockouts from the battle droids. Granted, I'm fully buffed, fully armored (well in the best armor a wookiee can wear). I guess the only thing I didn't have that I probably should look into is a PSG.

By the end of the hour, me and my 875 battle fatigue had enough. I spent more time meditating and recovering from unconsciousness than I did actually playing.

The idea that the dev's play this game like the rest of us (not invincible/with triple-uber weapons) - priceless

The dude who post his replies without checking the comments of the other players - Priceless

90% of all posts here are negative but we are a few who, except for the bugs, liked this and didn't find it unbeatable. I'm master in two elite combat profs and I was using 63-80% energy resist composite, a dxr-6 (acid rifle) with maxdamage of 350, a t-21 with md of 535, a scythe with md of 340 and a powerhammer with md of 460. Hardly uber/exploited or even very good.

How do you explain that?

Had a fun time last evening with the Corvette quest.

Suggestions:

  • All docs to buff inside. Once you've died, you may as well leave.

  • Nerf down those Super Battle droids a bit. Nothing like getting incapped on the first shot!

Good start though!

I thought it looked great. IMO it was a bit to hard though. The only way that I was able to explore and look around was when i slowly walked by the red cons, it was like they didnt notice me. LOL its funny how the NPCs have heavy armor rating but yet it looks like they are wearing noob clothing.(well thats not important anyhow). Dont like the fact that humoids do as much damage as krayts, and have the same HAM as well. IMO I think that some of the mobs should be hard, maybe have them scattered in different sections of the ship, but when 5 of them argo you at one time going to result in group death.

On another note, I read of people saying choose your group wisely. Most mobs have 90% res to Kinetic damage, so does this mean TKM/Fencers cant be part of the fun. Hear people say bring pikemen to it for the blast damage, but you know the super battle droids and the battle droids have 100% resistance to blast!! I dont find this dungeon to be as enjoyable as I expected it to be, or as fun as it could be. As for suggestions to make it better, I would like to see an even amout of Mobs that have different vunderabilities so that the more then just 2 or 3 combat classes will be successful there. Also why cant some of the mobs switch to melee attacks, what purpose does melee migration serve? Then the biggie is the ham and damage that those guys deal, its insane, and ruins the fun. It would be nice if it could be changed, or at least make it so docs can buff in a safe room or something inside the corvette to balance the it out. Geez its a space ship, I am sure it would have a medical room in it some where.

Any ways I hope at least some changes are made to this dungeon. Kind of upsetting to spend 1 to 2 hours obtainig a ticket, assembling a group, getting buffed, waiting for group and getting prepaired to go, when the entire group dies in 10 mins. Where is the fun in that. Once the group dies and buffs are gone, you might as well leave, cause you aint going to be killing anything after that.

Well thanks for letting me express my opionion, like to think as a paying customer my voice makes a difference.... we will see about that one LOL

I agree with many of the posts here, most of which have the same suggestions:

Add an insurance terminal, a cloning station or allow us to have a certain number of deaths without wounds or decay. Being slain by any of the droids does not count as a faction Death and you lose decay on your items.

Allow players to buff and heal wounds, even if only in the first room

AE attacks shooting through walls....this would be a huge deal to fix this, since it exists in many other parts of the game and is entirely related to the game physics.

Humanoids shooting with rifles, etc while in melee range for huge amounts of damage.

Battle droids are way too hard. My group of around 10 Elite professions managed to take one down to about 2/3 health. However with them hitting a player wearing high end composite for 1000-3000 damage means one-shot deaths for most everyone. It also didn't help that as soon as we attacked one battle droid, the other battle droids from the room across the hall aggroed and were shooting us through the walls.

Overall though, I had a blast in the Corvette. It was very hard and required lots of teamwork. My group without ATSTs (didn;t think to call them out) managed to clear about 75% of the second level, but got owned by the battle droids in the back rooms. Many of us died along the way, but we managed to keep most of our tanks up and buffed which was key.

Oh, also a member of my group had a graphics error that did not display any of the walls. He could see us and the mobs, but said everything else looked like black open space. He had an Nvidia Geforce 4 card using the lates Nvidia drivers. I sent him a link to try some older drivers (44.67) that are more compatible with the Geforce 4 cards. Hopefully these will fix the issue.

I went in basically to see wha it looked like and I was really impressed by the artwork! Good job art team! I felt sorry for my group, though. Just one single artisan type like myself (even with buffs and good armor) is enough to make it impossible for the entire team. All in all, I think that it was a great job, but it is too bad that this is basically closed content for only teams of the most elite fighters with the best equipment in the game. Us artisans with basic self-protection skills have no business getting any closer to the corvette than looking at other people's screen captures.

i like it,,, it was great .. so far i've Completed the 3 imp missions ... I wish that you would get differant rewards for each mission rather then a speeder sckmatic ... also you need to up the drop rate of the powerplant i was in it 5 times and i've only seen 1 drop (mine ... went with my speeder nicely) so unless you up the drop rates we'll probibly have to spend 2 months heavy grindings there to get the nessisary piece for all my friends / guild members to get a powerplant for theirs... would be nice if one of the prizes was a power plant / sckmatic. Oh well for the time being i will be happy being one of the few if not the only one with a new speeder on my server

Worthless.

It did not deserve a mention on the website, much less any mention at all on the loading screens.

This is a 'dungeon' for the 1 percent of uber players with 2 to 3 million to waste on decayed uber armor, decayed sliced uber weapons, and ten hours prep time.

This is not a dungeon that can be done by anyone other than those uber players. I've been able to contribute in a group to running the Geno Caves, Krayt hunts, and other high level adventuring. Sure, I didn't do much, but I had a lot of fun. I could come along and contribute. I could shout witty sayings and then get killed. All fun.

Corvette? Forget it.

You should label it "ONLY FOR 4444 JEDI AND DOUBLE ELITE COMBAT CLASSES WITH DISPOSABLE 1.5 MILLION CREDIT ARMOR", not "Hey, a fun dungeon".

This is not a quest that even should be in the game. When there is NO way that anyone can solo it (it was advertised as soloable) and there is NO way that a single Master Rifleman can contribute, you should post big warnings saying such.

Putting this much effort into content that only 1 to 2 percent of the subscribers can even hope to survive grouped with 9 other double elite combat masters is friggin stupid.

Since this is instanced, why don't you adjust HAM on group size/skill/classes?

In closing, I would suggest putting a big announcement on your main page saying DO NOT SOLO THIS! DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE 9 DOUBLE ELITE COMBAT MASTERS FOR FRIENDS! IGNORE THIS DUNGEON IF YOU ARE NOT AN OBSESSIVE PLAYER WITH MILLIONS OF CREDITS WORTH OF ITEMS YOU LOVE HAVING DESTROYED!

Hey, how about a dungeon that, oh, say, someone can have fun in? Someone besides exploiting triple-sliced weapon weilders and/or double elites?
