Thread: Corellian Corvette Feedback
i am just baffled as to why and HOW you can use a rancor or ATST on the corvette mission....just from a logic/continiuty standpoint it makes no sense...

From a logic/continuity standpoint, 90% of the stuff in this game doesn't make sense.

Ihave neverwhined about anything in game- I absolutely love SWG- but this is ridiculous! We had a group of 10 not including our huge tanks of pets. I was in a group of who I consider to be some of the best in my guild-many who solo krayts. We got our butts handed to us even though we used poison, flame, disease, uber sliced weapons and armor... They were hitting us for 5000! 5000 is almost twice our buffs! They were taking out my BE graul in 2-3 shots.I sawONEguy with 22K ham and everyone else had 35 and up.
Granted this is an awesome mission, but the only people I've heard of clearing it yet had a group with 2 dark jedis. We went up twice and it only got worse the second time when we couldn't find the codes and ended up fighting SIX of those super bot guys. 130K ham plus lots and lots of resist? C'mon here! One, two... okay.SIX?? I personally don't know any dark jedis yet- give the rest of us a slight break.
Other than that, it isa reallygood time. Great design and mostly fun time.
k well firstly i want to stae i'm not a master profession, i'm bout half way to master smuggler and only just started on pikeman (which i'm really enjoying so far). I dont class myself as a Hardcore gamer, i dont study every single detail on every single weapon. I'll learn the stuff relevent to my profession but not if its gonna get in the way of me enjoying myself and having fun. That for me comes above ANYTHING else in this game. anyway rant over lol
Being a relativly low lvl character compared to some others on this topic i think the corvette is way to hard. Heck i didnt even GET to see the corvette. If what people are saying about it being to hard for a group of 10 elite proffs all buffed and containing masters then what chance do players like myself actually getting to see the damn thing. ok so you could say "well why dont you play more ya little punk" i answer cause i have a life outside swg and dont have that much time to play these games anymore. Shame cause i would like to. I also dont believe in power lvling, i wanna take my time. I think something like the corvette should measure what lvl the group is at and adjust the dificuly accordingly that way semi hardcore and casual gamers like myself and many others can see the corvette or any other special adventure.
now i dont want to come across as whining i'm just trying to through in a perspective of a gamer who feels that everyone should be able to see the corvette, yes even NOOBS
everyone has a right to see anything in this game reagrdless of lvl or player skill. Just work in a system to adjust the difficulty in regards to the groups lvl and adjust the reward to match. simple. just my 2p's worth ![]()

Sounds to me like this is a publish for elite combat players. People can smoke Krayts solo and even small groups can clear out the genosin cave and the nightsister stronghold without too much trouble. Until now the only thing challenging for large group combat was another large group in PvP.
Great jobs Devs. I look forward to raiding the cave.
Couldn't agreemore!
We have some really good elites on Tempest in the PvP community that can probably do this mission with THREE jedi and their entourages. As for the other 99.9995% of the server population I see yet again another "cave" with no offerings whatsoever to the crafting or part-crafter populace. Glad I have a TKM/Doc capable of tagging along, but since everything is YET AGAIN 100% resistance to kinetic my time will be spent tanking and watching other people get to kill and loot too. /sigh

I personally think this is a great idea. It sounds like 4k ham hits are a little harsh I do agree with that. But if you want an easy dungeon go to Geno and run to the bottom, not too much fun or brain power in that. It appears this dungeon is going to take a great plan of attack, just running up there hoping to kill everything in sight just may not work out for the better. You will have to have the right classes performing their respective duties. Like a CM throwing a few DOT's but mainly AOE heals, that should be his primary function especially with how hard they are hitting and nothing else. Using cover to try and pull one mob at a time versus getting the whole room on you. SOE is making us think in this dungeon, trying to come up with proper strategies. I think it is great even though it is very difficult. Im sure they will tweak it a little especially after getting some proper feedback other than its too hard and don't go there you can't solo it. lol.
I can't wait to get slaughtered over and over trying to figure it all out.
*cheers for Sevideous*
You put my thoughts into words exactly. Personally, I had a BLAST, and so did the rest of my group/guild.Yes, it was hard. But geez, come on, if the game wasn't challenging, what's the point? I really think that this is meant to make you actually THINK, and as mentioned previously, come up with a strategy. I think elite profs out there are thinking that they can just storm the place and own everything... but that's not how it works. You have to actually plan your attack. I was with my guild in the corvette last night. We all got stats buffed as much as possible, but we were NOT all elites. We had a few, but there were also a few, like me, who weren't masters in any elite profs and were just there for the experience. (I am 0-1-0-1 pike and 0-1-0-1-3 smuggler) We are rebs and did our respective mission. The battle droids were tough, yes, but we did take one down. We actually were able to fix the broken droid (first part of our mission) but ran out of time by about a minute in finding the meeting room where we needed to take the next piece. This was because we had to regroup and plan how we would deal with the battle droids. Next time we will be more prepared and take less time planning and more time working. And working is not the same as killing. Nothing says you have to kill everything in sight to complete the mission... leaving some things alive worked to our advantage when they worked against each other. But we have a strong guild leader who did a great job in leading us. He had done it earlier in the day and had the general idea of where to go, so that helped... and now when we do it again, we'll be better prepared for that part. But what really helped is the attitude we went in with. We didn't expect to complete the mission when we entered, we just had the attitude that we were there for fun to check it out. It was awesome, and we had a really great time. It was a very thrilling experience, and I can't WAIT to do it again.
Now I agree that there are a few things that are buggy that should be fixed - such as mobs camping out to db when you clone if that's the case (I didn't have to clone since we had adoc that successfully rez'd me,so I didn't have this experience) or droids doing 4k+ damage and things like that, but this is not meant to be a piece of cake, so quit complaining. Otherwise it would be just like every other "quest" whereno one cares if you completed it or not becauseeveryone else has done it already. BORING! Those that thought they were "elite" and would just walk in and own learned the hard way that you have to take a different approach to complete this one. And you may have to accept the fact that it's not meant to be completed in one swoop. It's gonna take more than one shot to figure this puzzle out and plan your attacks accordingly.
You fell off the horse, now get back up there and learn from your past experience and move forward to make better strategic decisions for the next time. Each run through the corvette will only make you better prepared for the next. And if you want to complain about how "hard" it is to find a ticket each time you want to do it again, then you're not meant to do this quest anyway or you don't want it bad enough.
I, too, can't wait to get slaughtered again and again as I try to figure it out. Just have fun with it, folks.
Hard as hell, loved it. We took in:
1 Master Pikeman, 1 Carb/CM, 1 Doc/Fencer, 1 Pistol/Ch, 1 MS/BE/Novice Pistols, 1 SL/Carb, 2 Commandos, 1 Carb/Musician, and one other, I forget...
We got the the cross roads for the bridge and couldn't get further. We had a time of getting the puzzle figured out as we went in blind, but we tanked the mobs fairly well and had a good system of keeping everyone alive. We've got better tactics in mind and look forward to more fun.
Havent gotten to corvette yet, gonna do tonite, but a few observations on pre-corvette,
Did destroy mission for imps and going to 3 diff planets for random chance took a group of 10 about and hour and a half to do, 10 of that was actual fighting or being at the final destination, the rest of the time was spent in travel. If your going to make planet hopping a part of these quests, then fix the starports better since you wont lower times. Catching 1 ship 1 to 1 plabnet only to arrive and watch the other ship leave is pure frustration, go back to the dev room and try to find better solution please.
Other than that, was basically a fetch as really didnt have to fight anyone to get the codes.
