AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nope, don't be stupid.
Rifleman do NOT hit the speed cap.
Rifleman + master marksman + skilltapes hits the speedcap. That's NOT purely rifleman.
You CAN'T nerf professions based on extras. You nerf the extras.
Why do rifleman last so long? Armor, buffs, food.
Why do rifleman fire specials with almost no cost almost infinately? Buffs, food.
Why do rifleman sometimes hit the speed cap or come close? Master marksman (+5 to rifle speed) plus skilltapes on top of that.
Rifleman, unbuffed, unarmored, no spice, no food, no skilltapes is perfectly fine and balanced.
When a profession is fine without all the extras and overpowered with them, you swing the nerf bat at the EXTRAS AND ENHANCEMENTS, not the profession.
If you nerf the profession based on people enhancing it then you force people to rely on the enhancements more and more to stay decent.
I'm also sick and tired of all you pathetic whiners complaining about the jawa.
OH NO! Does your uber-armor have ONE SINGLE WEAKNESS? Oh my! We can't have that now can we?? Your armor should be TOTALLY without weakness at all! You should be totally invurnerable to damage, wouldn't that be awesome?
No, it wouldn't. Armor should have more weakness than it does now. I don't know exactly what materials composite is made of but it sure as hell shouldn't be uber against cold, AND heat, AND blast, AND lightning, AND energy... etc.. etc.. come on now. Be reasonable. I'm a wearer of composite myself so I'm not biased against it.
/sighs @ whiners
I, for one (or I guess many from reading this post), was looking forward to shorter shuttle times. I thought all shuttles (on planet and off planet) would be getting shortened. Too bad that didn't happen. I am kind of disappointed in that.
From reading some of the posts in this thread, I saw a couple good ideas that I wish the DEVs would look at.
1. Lower times on off planet shuttles also.
2. Put a travel terminal near the ticket collector in each Starport for people coming off one shuttle and catching another.
3. This is a new one that I didn't read-- if it was already posted, sorry I didn't have time to read through 10 pages of posts-- Make one starport on each planet like the Theed Starport with no wait times. You can keep the others the same, but make one a "no wait" starport. That way, people can have a faster way to travel around this galaxy.

Ok crybabies listen up. As we all know the dev team has been overloaded with trying to get all of the stuff in this game fixed. There is alot wrong with just about everything but they are trying to get the job done. Only so much can get done with each publish, so just because your profession wasn't fixed in this publish you have no right to whine about it. Your profession will be tended to soon enough. Its not like the title of this publish was combat medic: trauma patch, or pistoleer: recocked. I agree that many things need fixing too. The pistoleer's specials are just about all broken and the combat medic scare has people screaming for a nerf. However things take time to fix and we need to sit back and see what gets fixed next. Some of you may believe that the sqeaky wheel gets the grease, whoever complains the most will get their stuff fixed first, but think about it. I haven't heard much griping from the DEs and look who got all their stuff fixed first. Just a thought, stop insulting the people who are in charge of programming the game. If you were one of the programmers and someone on the forums was insulting you and ordering you to fix something would you? Odds are you would tend to something else for a while. Some of you may say well I would fix it if that was my job. True but their job covers more ground than fixing an individual profession. With more than 30 professions that need fixing you would finish the ones with the most polite and nice people playing them first. So be nice, sit tight and wait for the game you've been waiting for to finish getting repaired.
OK I agree with everything he says, except for this: As a former DE who formerly frequented the DE forums when publishes 6-8 were still in the development stages, I can honestly say that DE's were quite loud and vociferous in their complaining. Perhaps not as loud as those crying for CM/Rifleman/TK nerfs or whatever, but the DE board at those times was quite contentious, almost venomous at times. In the DE's case, a squeaky wheel definitely got the grease (and they got the Droid Commander idea nixed in the process). I wish that wasn't the case but it was. The DE's complained loudly and got what they wanted--the complaining is not ideal, but they did get what they wanted. After all, most of these new droid modules (except maybe the scout harvesting droid -- that's a new one to me) are either inspired by or taken driectly from suggestions in the DE forum months ago.
Perhaps we should be giving props to the Chefs, who got their profession fixed first, even though they probably didn't do much to get to the front of the line. /sarcasm After all, there were no chefs before their fix. /sarcasm

We are currently discussing the details of reducing the starport times.Shuttleports WILL be 5 minutes, players WILL be able to travel from any planet to any planet. We are discussing the DETAILS of reducing starport times. Two explicit changes promised. When you say we are discussing the details of reducing starport times, that necesarily implies that starport times are being reduced. By logic necessity that statement means starport times are being reduced in publish 8. So they did promise this. If the change it they lied. If you continued paying for this game based on that representation they may very well be liable for that misrepresentation.....
Ummm...no. Discussing the details of reducing starport times only implies that they are discussing the details of reducing starport times. It does NOT imply that they are going to reduce starport times, it only implies that they are thinking about it. They did NOT promise shorter starport times. We cannot fault them for the starport time misunderstanding, it is a reader's own fault for misinterpreting the abovementioned paragraph. We can, however, fault them because they DID say that we would be able to travel from planet to planet via starports. There is no misinterpretation there. A 10 minute starport wait would be far more tolerable if it was only ONE 10 minute wait instead of two or more. 5 minutes sometimes isn't long enough to go outside and smoke a cigarette anyways....

That's it? a mainly DE publish, with barely anything else? Every other publish had a slew of fixes and additions to professions other than DE....
I feel totally gipped now
Oh husha you mouth! The DE's got totally screwed on the "droid invasion" publish which was more of a joke on DE's than anything else and the biggest letdown of the century. The DEV's have made quite an apology and restitution by doing what they have done with DE's in this coming publish. Now, if last month could be forgotten and THIS one called the Droid Invasion, that would have been much cooler, but ya know hindsight is 20/20.
Stand down Raz, and let the DE's get their turn, they deserve this one.

I haven't seen the ad barking live on TC yet, but if it really does shout a message every n seconds, i got an idea on how to still have it fill its purpose, but not spam the spatial chat:
Have it have a permanent chat bubble over it, instead of real spatial chat action, saves people the (probably not even possible) ignore of the tincans.
Starport spamming is really bad as it is, please dont add spamming bots to that mess. Reduce, dont extend!
