I think that it's nice to have a city in a remote area. Like that, you have enough space for expanding, and when you ahve a shuttleport, you can just visit the town easily. My PA and me are also planning on creating a city somewhere in the remote area's of Corellia. Feel free to visit MokuM, by that time .

*Respectful bow to the room* ... My home is currently right outside the limit from Kadaara. I am a master artisan, very close to a master weaponsmith and plan to have a shop selling high quality items. I initially had a house much farther away but decided the short run from a shuttle port was critical - both to me (hate fighting my way to and from home) and to my customers. My top criteria for joining a player city will be whether I and my customers can safely get to and from my shop/home from other cities by shuttle or any other means. Other considerations are secondary and will not control the decision. Many of the other factors will be nice, but my choice will be ability to get in and out. I am not a fighter ... my points have gone into artisan and weaponsmith so that is my priority.

My pa's city is out in the boonies. I cannot disclose the secret location at this time, but it is 6km away from Moenia, which is quite a long run, although shuttlign to the Lake Retreat cuts it down to 5k. We have a large setup of residents out here, as well as 5 faction bases. How far away are faction bases going to have to be? We would like to see our stormtroopers and at-sts patrolling the city, and the turrets would be nice city defense. Anyways, we are really looking forward to the shuttleport, since that will make traveling to our city much more bearable, although a cloning center would be nice too. What I would like to see would be an ability to limit shuttleports to only pa members if desired, or maybe the ability to put up covert scanners around a shuttleport so all the rebels shuttling in could be eliminated before they could cause any problems. The problem of the krayts does concern me in a way, however, because setting up a shuttleport out there, while convenient, would bring camping the krayts to a whole new level. However, with the nerfing of at-sts, maybe it wont.

I think the best PA's already moved to the corners of the maps. We have been running the 4k meters to the nearest town for about a month and a half waiting. We might have stayed and worked it out the 1200 meters we were away but then some chump came up and place a house right next to our pa on reset. We called a CSR and they said sorry nothing we can do we dont know who was here first. lol. so now were are as far away from a town as we can get and are still slowly being surounded. Forget Remote cities. It is urban sprawl baby.

Please make it so that Player Cities have to be atleast 2000-2500m away from the nearest city. This will not only encourage people to build further out, it will prevent factions from setting up a city right next to a city of an opposing faction.

Not buying JTL. Its just more of the same bugged game.

I have a simple question, i read some posts but not all, so i didnt do all my homwework, but just need to know, can a player city be on dathomir. Ive heard conflicting things. Im thinking they cant, and tjose who told me they could were thrown off by the possibility of a dath style garden as an addition to a city elsewhere. I appreciate any help on this. Take care and have fun

Here's my 2 cents.

1) Have the maintenance on the Shuttle Port be fairly high.

2) Allow the members of the city or city council or whatever decide what to charge to leave or enter their city by way of shuttle.

This way competition opens up. Cities will have to make their place special for players wanting to visit their city. They'd have to have something that attracted them to come their. Reasonable airfare + shopping, airfare+sights, that kind of thing. That would create revenue for the city to maintain itself and pay off the shuttle port maintanance. If you made the price to high to fly there vs. whats services/goods/etc are provided. If you made it really low, you'd lose money on the shuttle port but hopefully the merchants would have great deals and make lots of dough to kick back into maintenance of the suttle port.

I'm no economics major, but it seems that's what happens in real life. Low airfare gets people to travel to a place (if the place is worth going to), people go there, the town flourishes thanks to vacationers, visiters, purchasers, business people, etc.

I am an SOE customer, now only if they'd treat me as one...hell, I'd be happy if they treated me like a McDonald's customer.

What is the rule here: I have built a city, with about 45 current declared residences. A month ago we dropped an imp hq base there. Are we now not going to be able to have a city because we have a base in it? I would be very dissapointed if this is the case as i have spent 5 weeks building this city and planning it roads and paths--To move is to Quit all together. please tell me the base isnt going to block my city status.

If the news that there is a cap of 10 Player Cities for each of the three "big" planets (Tatooine, Naboo, Corellia) is correct, then it won't really matter what our plans are. Unless you are one of the luck ten for your planet, or one of the lucky (25 is it?) for the other planets.

Why i want a player city

well the main reason and basically the only reason is to beautify our small area of housing, this is the only reason really, a few gardens a few light posts and some decorative fountains, oooh eye candy (homer drool)

it was our plan to make a small outpost and keep it that way.

Its a real shame that to realise our dream we will have to act selfishly and compete for 1 of a limited number of city slots on Naboo and if we are lucky enough to have one registered , then it will be a selfish act cutting out one of the other possible city makers that may have had a large city in mind and the members and resources to make one.

I suspect that there will be many many folks just like us who play SWG as a lifestyle game, is there a possibility that our desire can be catered for ?

Is there a chance that we might be able to have a smaller version of the City hall? - say a Hamlet hall? Alas poor yoric i knew him well... oops sorry couldnt help myself.

The hamlet hall or outpost hall would not need a politician to place , would not allow any city infrastructure such as mission terminals etc , wouldnot be a registered city, would not check fordustances to other city halls , but for the radius of 150m and no larger , would allow all the decorative features that are currently available to class 5 city at the same maintenance rate.

I think that this would cater to a very large portion of the population who are not intending on living in a large city, and would not deny us the oppertunity to beautify our surroundings.

PS . i have been reading about possible griefing of player cities , im not sure if this is in place but i think it would be to everyones benefit to have all vote counting for politicians and/or residence checks in cities take place on the same day galaxy wide , this would mean that pure greifing would be harder to do.

any large group who intend to move into someone elses city and declare and vote , take controll, then grief , then be able to declare back in their own town in time for its elections and preserve its status wouldfind itvery difficult if not impossible.

have a good one !
