Holy Crap! something is screwed.
Take 3-
P.S.
Have you thought about rail type transport?
I have a simple question, i read some posts but not all, so i didnt do all my homwework, but just need to know, can a player city be on dathomir. Ive heard conflicting things. Im thinking they cant, and tjose who told me they could were thrown off by the possibility of a dath style garden as an addition to a city elsewhere. I appreciate any help on this. Take care and have fun

Here's my 2 cents.
1) Have the maintenance on the Shuttle Port be fairly high.
2) Allow the members of the city or city council or whatever decide what to charge to leave or enter their city by way of shuttle.
This way competition opens up. Cities will have to make their place special for players wanting to visit their city. They'd have to have something that attracted them to come their. Reasonable airfare + shopping, airfare+sights, that kind of thing. That would create revenue for the city to maintain itself and pay off the shuttle port maintanance. If you made the price to high to fly there vs. whats services/goods/etc are provided. If you made it really low, you'd lose money on the shuttle port but hopefully the merchants would have great deals and make lots of dough to kick back into maintenance of the suttle port.
I'm no economics major, but it seems that's what happens in real life. Low airfare gets people to travel to a place (if the place is worth going to), people go there, the town flourishes thanks to vacationers, visiters, purchasers, business people, etc.
If the news that there is a cap of 10 Player Cities for each of the three "big" planets (Tatooine, Naboo, Corellia) is correct, then it won't really matter what our plans are. Unless you are one of the luck ten for your planet, or one of the lucky (25 is it?) for the other planets.
Why i want a player city
well the main reason and basically the only reason is to beautify our small area of housing, this is the only reason really, a few gardens a few light posts and some decorative fountains, oooh eye candy (homer drool)
it was our plan to make a small outpost and keep it that way.
Its a real shame that to realise our dream we will have to act selfishly and compete for 1 of a limited number of city slots on Naboo and if we are lucky enough to have one registered , then it will be a selfish act cutting out one of the other possible city makers that may have had a large city in mind and the members and resources to make one.
I suspect that there will be many many folks just like us who play SWG as a lifestyle game, is there a possibility that our desire can be catered for ?
Is there a chance that we might be able to have a smaller version of the City hall? - say a Hamlet hall? Alas poor yoric i knew him well... oops sorry couldnt help myself.
The hamlet hall or outpost hall would not need a politician to place , would not allow any city infrastructure such as mission terminals etc , wouldnot be a registered city, would not check fordustances to other city halls , but for the radius of 150m and no larger , would allow all the decorative features that are currently available to class 5 city at the same maintenance rate.
I think that this would cater to a very large portion of the population who are not intending on living in a large city, and would not deny us the oppertunity to beautify our surroundings.
PS . i have been reading about possible griefing of player cities , im not sure if this is in place but i think it would be to everyones benefit to have all vote counting for politicians and/or residence checks in cities take place on the same day galaxy wide , this would mean that pure greifing would be harder to do.
any large group who intend to move into someone elses city and declare and vote , take controll, then grief , then be able to declare back in their own town in time for its elections and preserve its status wouldfind itvery difficult if not impossible.
have a good one ! ![]()
