Personally, i would hope for players to create their cities in the non-populated areas, such as SW Naboo, ANYWHERE Dathomir, etc, to make it easier for travel when shuttleports arise. However, i do see places such as the Krayt Graveyard, Jedi Temple, Rebel Base, etc as becoming host to villages and/or cities..

I didn't exactly see a topic for this answer, and I really hope someone reads this. Me and a few friends got together a small group (10-15) and we were going to start a player city in the dead center of corellia, we wanted to make it far from cities so as to create more travel options. Anyways, we have pretty much given up on making a player city due to a few reaons, I will list them here.

1) To many people want player cities on corellia, therefore everyone is going to have a mad rush to place their city hall, and it will be to hard for us to compete since we havn't been playing for months.

2) We don't want to place our guild hall and all our houses out in the middle of no where, then find out we didn't get one of the 10 player cities on corellia.

3) Player Cities are a viciouse cycle. You need people to join them for them to be succesful, but you need them to be succesful for people to join them.

4) There won't be that much polotical stuff because whoever is the higher level polotician will ALWAYS be voted for so the city can have the necessary buildings. So when a guild starts a player city it will take a few weeks for people who arn't guild affiliated, and who might not vote for the representative polotician from the guild, and when they finally do get there they won't because they want med centers, cantinas and shuttleports.

Anyways, I kinda lost a lot of momentum in SWG because of this, I am getting bored of grinding when I don't see much of a purpose (I REALLY wanted to be a polotician and mayor...) Oh well...

OK, Why in the WORLD would you bring the servers down ONE hour early for a patch that you KNOW people are in a race to accomplish something in..... With no prior notice or warning...... I think this is the final STRAW for me and this rediculous game that is the most bugged, boring game I have ever seen. I think I am finally DONE giving you people my money.... The only reason I stay is that I am in charge of a guild with nearly 100 members, but I do not think that is enough to hold me here now.... Your game is a JOKE ... I have played since day one and since then ...

* My large house with everything in it has disappeared - just went poof - and it took me over THREE months to get anything resembling help.... For WEEKs all i was told was that this is a KNOWN issue (you people's favorite excuse for not doing your jobs)...

* I have not been able to get into ANY of my vendors for a week now... That's right the items that I spent 100s of hours making I can not access them in any way..... Again... This is a KNOWN issue and guess what I am just out of luck....

* Every single person almost that buys something from me, it goes poof on them as soon as they leave... hmmmm guess what KNOWN ISSUE... thats right.. you guys sure seem to have alot of known issues...

* I log in and I am 2000m away from house in the middle of red mobs even though I cant fight.....Hmmm Lets take a wild guess what the answer to this one is ...... YEP, KNOWN ISSUE !!!! ...... GOTTA LOVE THAT....

* Teleporting mobs that kill you when your fighting..... hmmmm lets see KNOWN ISSUE .... nice excuse SoE.....

I could keep going... but I think you already know what menutia your game already is....

OK... but ... lets see you sure have time to ... NERF NERF NERF... AND add ALL KINDS of new things to be full of bugs but YOU CANT FIX THE THINGS THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE IN THE GAME...... You know what I call that .... IDIOTIC !!!.... And if you complain well you find out.. two different teams work on this stuff.... OK TWO different teams .... If I was in charge guys I would FIRE the team that works on bugs cuz they sure cant keep up with your team that likes to Nerf things.....

NOW.... A guild has spent HOURS working on making a player town... I might add a LARGE guild of YOUR paying customers and you think... hmmm it sure would be fun to put the patch out EARLY !!!!! WITH NO WARNING .... So that one of the tiny little guilds can beat us to a town hall so thatwe have HELL .... THANKS ALOT !

OK..... I have played EQ, DAoC, SB you name it... but NONE of them were the bug filled (and that is SAD that you could not even put out a product that could run as smoothly as Shadowbane).... and I guess I would rather be bored then keep paying YOU money for this crap! ...... You threw out the Jedi thing when I am sure people were quitting in massive numbers (don't lie either and say that is not true) and people are so stupid becuase QUESS WHAT.... I am 100% SURE that Jedi is bugged up the ying yang too..... and all you Jedi's out there will put in bug tickets and I am sure they will tell you..... YEP its a known Issue......

Why dont you get your ACT together ..... or just pull the game

Here is the problem. Many people place their cities close to an existing city because whoever gets their town center down first WINS. We organized with 4 other Imperial PAs in a well chosen remote location. We built city walls for months in advance. We had at lest 40 residents and our city was extrememly well organized. Nothing was placed without approval by city management. Our would be Mayor took off work several days in case the patch came, so we could get the City Hall down. Well what happened is that people trained, made a dash 800m from an existing city and threw down their town hall so they could be the first to have a city. All of the big organizations who had planned and picked out the perfect location did not have any chance whatsoever. As a result there are no Imperial cities on Naboo. Our mayor logged on as soon as the server was up but because she had to run 3000 m instead of 800, by the time she tried to place the town hall, the cap had been reached.

We are told that we must choose an existing city someone placed, most of which are within walking distance of a major city and are of Rebel faciton. This is a truly sad day for the Empire.

The professions of this game are like 32 spice fiends in the same room with a few fences. Everyone is screaming for their their fix. If you try to give everyone a little bump at the same time, nobody will be satisfied and the screaming will never end. If you single out each one really hook them up , you will slowly end the screaming. I know my turn is coming, but it still does not ease the pain of realizing I am nobody's favorite ho. Same here too. A good sized Rebel PA on Tarq/Tatooine/tusken fort. And in 30minutes you could not place a city. This is BS. And you SOE guys thought that the 10 slots would still be available before the next patch. THIRTY MINUTES!

i hate you

I see you have constructed your own Mineral Scanner.

On Tarq.. GatCity has moved our location from it's spot about 1.5k south of theed to 5k north of theed (right along the beach).. we did this to grab the spot and we can't wait for the shuttle to make the times quicker. The gungun death train express does save us time.. but can lead to nasty wounds.
