Thread: Friday Feature Errata: PvP Insurance Yes, 1% decay, not gone.

How about this as an alternative as a possibility ??
IF I am Overt (PvP active) and I die, I suffer no item decay.
Obviously the system can tell when I am Overt, WHile Overt I am at risk 100% of the time, so the story would be the Rebellion or Empire compensate me by preventing Decay for valiantly serving proudly and declared.
Lets make the type of death not matter, the only people who go Overt are the PvP fighters, lets make it a perk for accepting the risks, no item Decay.
This will 1 encourage more Overt players, which means a more active GCW and targets and prevents decay from PvP death WHILE not allowing the covert group TEF abusers to have an advantage of no decay.
Heck make it a conversation option to spend 10 FP while declaring Overt for factional Insurance, while Overt Dying means I suffer no Decay?
I am begging here, we need something.... The report of Item Decay alone had revitalized interest in the GCW and PvP... this thread has hurt us.. BAD real bad.

I agree, that's 12 pages of people who really do not like this mistake. I've read up to about page 8 before not being able to hold off the reply button any longer. Fair enough down to technical issues you cannot distinguise between a PVP and PVE death, that sucks, but since the coding in the first place had no need to then its understandable. This is seemingly unavoidable and so the only other obvious choice is to make all insured items have ZERO decay when killed by a weapon (that means all PVP deaths and all NPC deaths). That's a compramise i'm sure we're all willing to make, and would make everyone very happy.
Tailors do just fine and they dont sell full suits for 200-800k credits, and clothes are pretty much decayless as decay has no effect. Weaponsmiths do just great too. Why not make armorsmiths work for our money? If they produce better goods then people will clearly buy it --at the moment we're pushing far too much money as it is into buying very expensive armor because the old set died after a few hours of PVP and a failed repair.
Seriously now, armor decays enough from taking hits in battle as it is, 1% might not seem like much but on your brand new 36000 condition 80% kenetic chestplate that's an aweful lot of money that you lose each death, despite paying insurance not to suffer this loss.
This proposed change was much anticipated by many many players, would it REALLY hurt so much just to keep to your word and leave it in?
- For the armorsmith we all agree there is allready decay on armor usage.
- For the tailor I've started a new topic in the tailor Forum so we could have their input and no more talking on behalf of them
"The reason is because there is no way to tell the difference between a "PvP Death" and a "PvE Death". "
Oh really?
1) Umm, if the game can't tell the difference between a PvP and a PvE death, then how does it know that you don't need to run and re-insure after your PvP death, but that you DO after your PvE death?
2) if it didnt know the difference... um... how would you gain/loose faction points?
3) or how would the game know to give us experiance or not for the mob even?

It has to be a joke because we all know Weapon can't be insured and doesn't decay on death.
Take it easy , guys. it's obviously a joke
That's not the only joke around here...
You guys realize how bad its hurting the community PvP wise then why don't you remove the 1% completely or at least from armor. That way we can't still feel free to PvP and have no worry about our armor and weapons and you still have your money sink.

They removed the need to insure after each death. The 1% decay is tougher to do technically, though I wont give up.
The biggest obstacle to that is if nothing decays then Tailors and Weaponsmiths don't get repeat business...and we need to love them too.
Currently, the weapons do not decay as a result of death. Did you mean Armorsmith?
Bull**edit**, We still have armor decay from PVE and raids.. Why dont you go ona base raid and watch your armor get shot to hell by turrets..
