I have to agree with many on this thread. What kind of braindead people you got working over there?


You add acharacter flag:


LastDeathByPvP - Yes/No


If you're slain by a player, you lose faction points and "LastDeathByPvP" is set to Yes. When you clone, the decay system checks "LastDeathByPvP" to see it should NOT issue 1% decay.


If you're slain by something else, "LastDeathByPvP" is set to No. When you clone, the decay system checks "LastDeathByPvP" to issue 1% decay.

They removed the need to insure after each death. The 1% decay is tougher to do technically, though I wont give up.


The biggest obstacle to that is if nothing decays then Tailors and Weaponsmiths don't get repeat business...and we need to love them too.







Firstly, Weapons do not decay at death at ALL.... so this has nothing to do with weapon smith repeat business.


Secondly if you meant Armorsmiths, Armor decays with each shot and damage I take in battle, it has ALWAYS decayed.... with item decay at death it decays at double the rate now, excessively so.. Item decay for armor at death is excessive and not required for repeat business.


Now that ONLY leaves Tailors... and well to be bluntly honest they got along just fine for 5 months with no decay being in the game, I am not sure which is more important to you, but for me the PvP player being Targeted suffering Double decay on a million credit suit of armor (from damage taken and upon death) so much so that even when insured 20% total decauy in a day, or the entire suit destroyed in a week is far more of an issue then a tailor getting a more rapid set of repeat business for clothes that cost 1000 credits.


We need Decay addressed, and we need it atleast temporaryly addressed and fixed THIS publish much like we were told would happen.


Yet another possible temporary alternative until the Devs can get it fixed is that ALL insured deaths result in 0% decay rather then 1% decay until the Devs can get a proper handle on the situation.


I find leaving the GCW and PvP in complete tatters and zero activity as simply unacceptable for this publish.

This is yet another reason i will not believe any of the garbage that spews out of the devs mouth. Its just another ploy to get money out of the customers.

Guys, you think this was an honest mistake? It wasn't.. It was misleading their players.. Worse, TH openly LIES when he says:

Umm, if the game can't tell the difference between a PvP and a PvE death, then how does it know that you don't need to run and re-insure after your PvP death, but that you DO after your PvE death? Its one thing to blow smoke up our azzes, its another thing to blatantly lie so bad, that it makes my stomach churn.

The result is the same... with 1% decay. who gives a **edit** if GCW is gets overhauled. Most of us will just opt out of the GCW.


It doesn't make any sense to insure items to protect them, just to have them take damage anyway.

My 2nd post,

Getting killed by Npc Imperials is going to be come a way of life for many newer and less skilled Rebel players. THe already harsh system is going to hurt Rebels even more.

Non consentual PvP ie: scanning team TEFing a reb, and that poor guy (haha) getting oblitterated by everyone overt in the area (nearly all imps i should imagine after the publish) then suffering his decay, just cos he was trying to check his harvesters on another planet.

everything has already been said multiple times by other people how much of a negative effect this will actually put on pvp and the GCW theres not much to add other than soloutions for this.

Why not make factional armour cheaper to buy say 500fp a peice but make it free from decay? redo the stats on it make them more basic say 20% resists to everything, keep it as AR1 class.

Not only would it make PvP more visually interesting, large ammounts of stormtroopers Vs Rebel marines, but it would make it actually worth while owning a set.

Give imperial command uniforms 9 peices too and make the same as the armour stat wise, but again more interesting for the GCW.(and fix the hat)

Of course people/powergamers will still buy Uber composite and pvp in it but the are going to suffer the decay when using it.

The armour can still be used only when overt, and not abusing group TEF which also really needs to be addressed, but thats an entirely other debate.

Im sick of running arround but naked in PvP with maybe a buggy as hell sheild gen on, becasue i dont wann see the suit of armour, which probably took me 2 or 3 attempts to get encumberance slices on each part literally dissapear in the course of 2 days pvping.

And while im at it Fix buffs, they destroy PvP Having regen stats in the high 2000s or 3000s mean as a pistoleer i cant pysically damage the person fast enough (usually) to get them on the floor incapped. THe mind pool is the only target and only CM, TKM, RM and 2H, and BH are the only(?) classes that can attack it effectivley, giving them a HUGE advantage in all situations.

Take a page from other games like DAoC where there was no Decay from pvp just from usage, that was half of the fun of it (other than the huge waits between fights and the buff bots) You could simply just dive in and not worry about having to find more money to replace all your stuff.

This game is so lacking in PvE (holocron grinding?) that after a few weeks PvP is the only option for a large population of players. and most of them are running about in there bra and shorts with a Jawa ion Rifle or a Vibroknucler simply becasue other combat classes are Sh!t

man ive said enough, im going to bed 3am in England

Fix the game, make it fun and less work to play. Theres plenty of other mmorpgs out there cheaper and with more content than this one.

I really am just sick. For the first time, I honestly believe in my heart that the Devs/Desingers, DO NOT CARE one bit what their player base wants. This is so disgusting. I use to play AO (anarchy-online) and had quit to come here. Now that Shadowlands is out, I've gone back to take a look and you know what, they have done everything the players have asked for.


Here's one for you, when I logged in a new toon, I was greeted by an Actual Person to welcome me to the game and answer any questions I might have. Then they left reminding me that I could contact a real person at anytime. WOW - I had forgotten how cool that was. Oh, and their version of a GCW which is Omni vs Clan, is HUGE and so well layed out it's amazing. Food for thought.


Anyhoo.. I'm on a tangent. Back to, I'm furious, hurt and utterly disgusted by the way this community is brushed off while the Dev's chuckle at our horrors, and really don't care because they do not have to deal with us on a PERSONAL and active level.


Wan't solutions, I think Jester has givin you a ton and he is far more qualified than I am to do so. To see him not be answered and this to continue with such a HUGE part of the game being affected (GCW), is just plain disheartening.

Thank you Thunderheart for all the hard work you've put forth in these past months to help this game and community grow. Despite a mistake of words I still trully respect everything you've done, and hope you dont let all of the ignorant people that visit these forums get to you.


I'd also like to add that I do believe that decay should be removed. With the inflation of prices on many of the servers its nearly impossible for a casual player who doesnt like to run missions all the time to make the money necessary to PVP effectively with this decay. On the Bloodfin server resource and equipment prices are insane, and it being the "unofficial" PVP server I've found it hard to make the money necessary to compete in a PVP enviroment.







Ah ah ah. But he did lie. He stated that PvP insured deaths would not suffer decay penalty. It's also in the patch notes. Someone lied over there...
