What about the people who have stuck with their profession since launch, not wanting to become a dancer or image designer? Tough luck right?

Ok, I like the devs again, wonder if I'll like the CSR's again. Doubtfully, at least the QAs are cool.

hey now, I have been a Dancer since launch, lol

My theory was simple, do the holocrons till silent, then proceed to master any profession that I wanted to try but didn't want to do the grinding for. Since I now had a purpose for doing them, besides being one. In all I ended up Mastering 18 Professions, remastering a profession only three times. I was a person who never wanted to master anything except my chosen profession, Dancer. Out of each profession I ended up mastering, I kept for atleast a week and got an understanding for it. I had alot of fun doing them too, except for Bio-Engineer, but hey, 17 out of 18 isn't bad, lol

Great news, glad to hear those who unlocked between 9 and 10 will be getting the reward they deserve.

yes, but not completely. those who have already unlocked should not be punished for having alerady so, which they are doing by requiring you to run the missions any way if you want whatever loot is given from them. a person who has opened the traditional way should receive EVERY benefit a person who unlocks in the new way would.

Completely disagree - the new method of unlocking just so happens to have some really nifty quests that just so happen to deliver some neat loot. Just becasue you ground to your jedi does not mean that you did the really neat quest to get the equally neat loot.

If you want the loot do the quest just like any other loot in the game.

Don't ask for too much, the devs have been really good so far about listening to the community and to expect to get quest loot without doing the quest is overstepping just a bit.

Where to start.........

I have played since release, day one to be exact. With all of the speculation on how to open your FS slot and become a Jedi. From running around grouped with 15 people to kill womp rats and having 20 - 30 people when attacking a squill when it got too close to Mos Eisley, and the ever so fun of running back out to get the items off of your decaying corpse. So, amongst others here, I am a vetern of the game.

I was well on my way to unlocking, three Holocrons down, the fourth being silent, andhaving 15 professions Mastered with number 16 a half a box away, when we had a house fire in the begining of Marchthat made it impossible for me to continue playing for the next few months. All the while, paying my $15.00 a month to keep my account going. I was able to come back about 2 weeks ago to find that publish 10 was suppose to be here in 2 weeks, and found myself with no chance of being able to grind out 16 more professions that it might take to open.

I think that thequest based wayto unlock with publish 10 is a great idea, however, I think that the fs xp requirements with the conversion ratio is a bit extreme. Now, I have not seen an actual post that has the conversion ratios in it, but if what I have read from posts I have read, it will take longer to grind that out than it would to do the 15 remaining proffessions I have left.

I am anxiously waiting to see what type of "credit" we will get for the professions that we have Mastered will be. I am hoping the the "fair" treatment will actually be fair. I would love to see what the actual conversion ratios are and see if what people are saying is true.

Just my thoughts and opinions.

Maybe if you told us what the credit is sooner than "soon", we might relax and "just play" Otherwise, for most of us with a very high amount of professions done, we're obviously going to keeping TRYINGto unlock, in case this supposed "credit" screws over all the time we put in so far.

Will credit be given for those professions that were mastered prior to the badge system going into effect that rewarded badges for mastering a profession? You can finish BH, which WILL unlock since it is prof 32. Then you'll start at Padawan just like all other unlockers. 1 Week is plenty of time to do BH if you can stand the drudgery that is investigation

i'm with flop on this one; but fyi the only pre badge masteries that they can somewhat track are the holo professions, if you are on your last one, go for it, you've already come this far.

I'll try one move timE..

Hey, um I got a quick question tht I hope someone can answer for me...

I recently took advantage of the character transfer service and moved from starsider to intrepid. I was aware that I would lose my badges, but I would like to know if I will get credit for the many professions I ground while on starsider as it would be very dissapointing to lose all that progress. I remember reading in the jedi archives you saying something to the tune of professions being a seperate tag that has always been there, seperate from the badges and even before badges came out.

It's kinda late, sorry if this doesn't make any sense

Any feedback would be quite appreciated.

If we are to keep it fair, then anyone who has an active account for longer than 6 months should get there 2nd slot unlocked with Pub 10.

Thats just my opinion though.

How is that fair? Not that I have an opinion one way or the other, but I'm just curious as to your reasoning here.

I know I'm a ranter without much exlenation, but if you would like some then here ya go my friend.

Someone who has an account longer than 6 months has paid around $100 to play this game and for someone to last more than a few weeks, either likes the game allot or is hoping things will get better. In either case, players should be rewarded for their dedication to the game itself, not just the grind. Also, someone like me who has been playing since launch and not quitingfrom nerf after nerf, and have done all I can to unlock should be rewrded by being granted my 2nd slot wothout more hassle. The biggest problem with this game is that so far there is no middle ground, either things are really hard to accomplish or extremely easy. Lets just hope that the new way to unlock is just FUN. Ok, Im done ranting :-)

this would not be fair either. you see, there is still a strong contingent of players who have been here since launch. anyone whose account has been active for 9 months or more should get their second slot automatically. 6 month players haven't dealt with near the amount of crap they think they have. these are those who have truly suffered:

anyone who ever controlled 3 full strength rancors as a NOVICE CH.

anyone who ever leveled professions with a PROBOT as their only tank.

anyone who ever had to do a corpse run only to die on the way.

anyone who ever had a fwg5 enhanced by both krayt AND a feeder.

anyone who ever had to group with 20 other people to go to the Tusken Fort.

anyone who ever solo'd krayt dragons and kimo's when they only had 26k-36k HAM.

anyone who ever dueled before the 75% PvP reduction was instituted.

anyone who ever owned a set of BONE ARMOUR because it was the best available.

these people have suffered through nerf, after nerf, after nerf, after lie, after lie, after lie, after broken promise, after broken promise. if you are still here through all this you deserve to made an instant Jedi Master. Why? Because you are one crazy son of a ----- to hang around through all that and keep paying SOE for it. it's miller time, and this bud's for you...

I like the idea of what you are doing Devs, just wish something would come out officalliy for those peeps that haven't unlocked yet on thier silent holo prof. I can't ask for to much, so this is good. If a DEV can respond and let us know, that's be great.

Peace to the Rebellion and to the Empire...nay, kill the Empire

We will come out with more info, and it will be fair.

HEres whats gonna happen...... I already know this! SOE will cave to those who say "I did blah blah blah professionsI should get credit for ALL of them.", I personaly think its fair that people who did the holocrons professions should get credit. And those that master 20 odd professions after that should NOT get credit for those sense they had no dirrection and it was luck of the draw. I will be the minority in this and THEY WILL, cave to the criers. So I might as well just get ready todo the whole villege senseI stopped on my silent profession(s) and gave up.To awnser your questionthe reason people will NOT stop till the patch goes in, is mostare pritty damned sure that they will get credit for every profession they mastered and they want to master 1 or 2 more in that time!

I'm not going to flame you for this, But I am going to say this only once. SOE is full of crap. There was a 5th silent holo put into place only after they gave jedi away to the first 20 or so people. those people all said that they were going about there normal everyday buff/kill business and low and behold boom you have felt a surge in the force, They did'nt get a special holo profession, they were given it to shut people up because SOE development was being bombarded by we the people because there was not a jedi one in the game yet after 4 or 5 months of being live. After those few were given jedi, the holo grind started, it was around 8 to 12, then it jumped upto 15 to 20, then it consistantly got more and more to unlock. Now it's 32 or nothing with the very rare 28 or so.

That's not even being fair, They consistantly have changed the rules over and over to meet what they feel is best for the game. What about those of us that pay to play and have been busting our asses to open this friggin slot, I have 28 professions completed and several badges to my name, As well as the fact that i got jacked out of 5 profession badges because i did them before that patch went live wich is a crock because I think i'm going to get jacked because of it when they start dishing out credit for what ive completed. Beyond that, SOE Development has dictated when and who unlocks, it's not by luck it's by process. So don't think in a millinion years that it's just bad picking on anyone's part that they have not unlocked till number 32, that's crap, the Development team changed the rules to suit there purpose and continue to do so over and over again.

I have a suggestion for giving holo grinders credit.

There are 32 possible professions to unlock. There are 24 skill boxes to get the FS slot and Padawan. That means if you give3 skill boxes for every 4 professions completed, 32 professions would be all 24 skill boxes. I think this would be the fairest way of compensation. At least its alot better than what they had planned.
