Yes you are. You are forcing people to PvE against scanners. And don't say "then don't carry sliced stuff", because that is impossible, sliced stufff is up to 30% better. so, yes, you ARE forcing people to fight or die.

And there is no escape, not even for people "on leave" (which is by far the most reidiculous term I ever heard, BTW, why not just call it covert ???)

Gordon's comment was about those people who are not in a faction. If you aren't in a faction you won't be attacked from a scan.

exactly! If you're rebel carrying sliced stuff you have been dealing with a chance of being put overt (pvp) for over a year. If you're a rebel and this is your complaint where have you been for the last year? If you are imperial and whining about this.... good! I'm tired of you guys demanding npc griefing against rebels as long as it doesnt affect you. This is called 'Just Desserts'. If you dont like taking the chance of being scanned and having to fight (keep in mind that it wont even be PVP anymore just PVE) then you have 2 choices.

1. surrender your faction and be a neutral - guaranteed not to have to fight
2. avoid cities controlled by the opposite faction - holly cow.. you mean you might have to Role Play in a mmoRPG??!?!?

- It's time the devs end the bitter fighting by giving the community a Non Jedi server. We have a few servers with TINY populations that could be changed to this ruleset. I support this idea because it punishes noone. - You can support it too. Click Here!

but if you are a neutral jedi, you will be attacked if scanned? or will a neutral jedi not get scanned?

Additionally, if a Jedi is scanned s/he runs the risk of being exposed. Should this happen, the police may panic and call for help, bringing a very powerful force on the Jedi. Note that Imperial allied police will call forces to attack any Jedi, regardless of faction. Rebel aligned police will only call guards to attack Dark Jedi.

Ok I know you're trying to stick to the story line here and make it seem like Imperials want to destroy all Jedi, but in this game it'sjusttoo contradictory to the system that's already in place.

  • Obviously Dark Jedi can already join the Imperial side and do all the same thing that normal Imperials do. Get faction points, buy equipment, get promotions, etc.

  • Imperial npcs do not attack Dark Jedi even if they have high visibility and have their sabers out.

  • Dark Jedi can even do the Imperial theme park and take missions from Vader.

Clearly you've set the game up in a way where Dark Jedi are welcomed by Imperials. So why now have you decided that Imperials at npc cities will start attacking Dark Jedi? Either Dark Jedi should not be allowed in the Imperial faction, or Imperials should not attack their own kind.

This looks very very cool...just one thing that I think needs to be addressed...the rebellions "stronghold" city on tatooine, anchorhead, doesnt have a starport. This would make it impossible (well, not impossible, but very difficult) for rebels to shuttle into tatooine if all the other cities were heavily patroled by imperial npcs. Carebare or not, rebel crafters need a safe place to get to their player cities on tat.

Keep in mind that the Imperial Stronghold on Corellia, Bela Vistal, doesn't have a Starport either. So we are at the same riskif Corellia falls entirely to the Rebellion as Rebels are if Tatooine is controlled by the Empire.

and not to sound crazy or anything but the Empire gets Naboo ( rebels have a Starport in theircity on Naboo so this planet is more a nutral zone :/ ) and Tatooine the two coolest planets and the rebels get Corillia. Just like it should be

You CHOOSE to carry sliced gear. Sliced gear is ILLEGAL. You don't like it stop using it. Maybe if this stuff actually works, people like you will come to appreciate it or stop carrying it, then taking the risk of carrying sliced gear will actually have some benefits.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

You guys have repeated this a million times already. Everyday these boards get worse and worse with these guys whining and complaining about new things being put in for the better good and they end up spouting out nonsense without giving it a chance or properly reading the responses that the devs make to clear up some doubts. I know in the past its been hard to get answers but the cant use that excuse with this thread

I'm looking forward to testing this out and having some real fun with it.

Wait wat wait .... what!?

Imperials wont be scanned by imperials, Rebels wont be scanned by rebels, and neutrals wont be scanned EVER?! WHY SCAN AT ALL?!

Not only does thateliminate the value of smugglers ability to resist it completely eliminates the "membership has privledges" idea of faction. The idea of high ranking officials getting pass only makes sense from a "ah you're one of us" stand point...but apparently...we're encouraging people to opt out of the war...then they are ALWAYS safe.

And as for the smugglers... nevermind them ... my faction (or lack there off)can smuggler far better than their 121 skill points ever will.

Something not to forget, SpaceCrazy.

To quote the official statement:

Two cities on each planet will never change faction. These are the stronghold cities. Anchorhead, Coronet, and Moenia will always be Rebel. Bestine, Bela Vistal, and Theed will always be Imperial.

So a crafter who is in a faction can decide to stick to his faction stronghold city for travelling, etc.

On Naboo, yes. On Corellia and Tatooine, not necessarily. There are no starports in Bela Vistal or Anchorhead. In order to travel to another planet, you will have to travel to another city that could be controlled by the opposing faction.

Hmm looks very nice and this will seperate the factions a bit more. Now the Impereals will mostly stay in Theed so they wont be at risk of getting scanned and cornet will stay the rebel capital. this is a first step of also bringing NCP cities alive again.

cnet the rebel capital? why make onethe largest and most widely known cities in the galaxy a rebel stronghold? iknow the game has a lotof problems with keeping with the time period we are in, but rebels should be in hiding. not walking around in plain sight, and controlling the largest city in the galaxy.cnet should be a neutral town.

Devs i see the ability to change citys and all that however we can just simply avoid all citys.

Will we ever see a TRUE meaning for the GCW? like the faction that owns that planet might get a entire experimentation point extra for crafting on that planet for the creation of Faction Armor and equipment ONLY???

OR maybe All Overt Enemy Faction on that planet's Radar is Jammed, or well Maybe whoever is winning the war can be able to use Faction Vehicles that can fire light weapons out of them, kinda you arrive on a planet and you get a Faction VEhicle in your datapad you can use (only on that planet non tradeable) and you can ride these into combat and would be just a fun thiing to have, of course they would poof out of your datapad when you leave the planet or you just couldnt usethem anywhere else.

My point is there needs to be some small but still signifient point other than bragging rights, if we see the Extra crafting point there you will see a MAster Armorsmith out there with just rifles or whatever he has fighting to keep his extra crafting point.

Or if its the vehicle idea you will see people out there fighting (more than just the normal PvP people) out there trying to keep there NEw Fun vehicles they enjoy, i dunno be creative but whatever it is, it needs to go away if they lose that planet. Thus you get a Reason to fight for it.
