Thread: Friday Feature Errata: PvP Insurance Yes, 1% decay, not gone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The reason is because there is no way to tell the difference between a "PvP Death" and a "PvE Death". I will continue to try and get the development team to remove the 1% decay with insurance. (Any good ideas from you folks for an alternative might help).

Well, after previewing, seems the space bar can activate the Submit button ![]()
And hence, a double post. Watch out for that people ![]()

Nope. It really was wishful thinking...
They removed the need to insure after each death. The 1% decay is tougher to do technically,
though I wont give up.
The biggest obstacle to that is if nothing decays then Tailors and Weaponsmiths don't get repeat business...and we need to love them too.
Knock Knock, helllooooooo!!! Weapons don't decay on death anyway -- they only decay from use. Armor decays from use too, so why do we need death decay. Clothing, well, who the heck cares about clothing anyway. You can make ifdecay 1% per day for all I care.
Architect structures don't ever decay, but it seems Architects have no problem selling stuff.
How about this as an alternative as a possibility ??
IF I am Overt (PvP active) and I die, I suffer no item decay.
Obviously the system can tell when I am Overt, WHile Overt I am at risk 100% of the time, so the story would be the Rebellion or Empire compensate me by preventing Decay for valiantly serving proudly and declared.
Lets make the type of death not matter, the only people who go Overt are the PvP fighters, lets make it a perk for accepting the risks, no item Decay.
This will 1 encourage more Overt players, which means a more active GCW and targets and prevents decay from PvP death WHILE not allowing the covert group TEF abusers to have an advantage of no decay.
Heck make it a conversation option to spend 10 FP while declaring Overt for factional Insurance, while Overt Dying means I suffer no Decay?
I am begging here, we need something.... The report of Item Decay alone had revitalized interest in the GCW and PvP... this thread has hurt us.. BAD real bad.

Come to think of it, why not just have 1% decay per day on all items that you equip. In other words, Any item you have equipped when you log in for the first time in a given day will decay 1%. If you equip an item after logging in, it will decay 1%, but only once per day. If you log off with the items equipped, they continue to decay 1% for each day, regardless of whether you log in or not.
Make harvesters permanently decay 1% for each day they are placed or each time they are redeeded. Then cut down on the resource requirements a bit so architects can keep up with demand without going crazy harvesting/buying resources
This way, items will last for about 3 months, give or take 1-3 monthsdepending on use and abuse, and success of repairs. It won't penalize active participation in combat, and it will affect items that don't currently decay for any reason, like structures.

TH is stuck in a large pile of bantha poo.
If he doesnt reply to the GCW correspondant then he truly is clueless about the game.
Simple??? Thought so.

Currently, the weapons do not decay as a result of death. Did you mean Armorsmith?
I did Tanks. Thanks. (The Cedar pollen season is killin me...)
Take some medicine and get some rest. THEN give us an answer as to how this helps the Tailor Community. I just do not see it. If you can still wear clothes that are fully decayed, HOW does this help us? Why can they not implement use based decay on clothing if it can be done for armor? Please quit leaving this part out of the answers. Please.
