Thread: Vehicle Issues...
The Warping when dismounting "can" happen all the time, with BOTH Vehicles, and mounts. Seems to be related to a lag-delay when riding at high/fast speeds. Looks like the servers don't keep up with everyone's actual position, and need a few seconds to "catch" up. As an example, if someone's been riding at full speedfor a minute, then just tries to stop and dismount quickly, the warping happens virtually everytime. How far will depend how long the person waitedto dismount. It's usually pretty easy to "time" and work around/avoid.When using a vehicle, just listen for the engine's "speed". You can hear it winding down when you stop holding down the accelerator and go to stop. If you try to dismount before the engine sounds like it's wound down all the way to simple idle speed, it will usuallywarp you. But, if you wait till it's slowed all the way down, and the engine sounds completley "wound down", then you'll be right at the same spotas the vehicle.
To further add to this, a similar thing happens with anything that appears on the radar screen. The same amount of catch up time seems to apply to that a lot as well, before icons will appear on the radar, when riding a vehicle, especially at full speed for a while. When just zooming thru an area, nothing will appear untill you're well past it, and it's almost out of range already. If you stop, it can take a few seconds before anything actuallyappears, usually seems to be the same amount of time as for the vehicle warping vs. not warping, above.
Also, the problem still exists with repairs not being correctly stored with a vehicle, after having repaired it. There are instances (way too many, especially for what the repair rates ALREADY cost, NORMALLY) where just having paidanywhere from 200Cr. to 4000Cr. to repair a vehicle to full condition gets instantly wasted, when storing a vehicle after then recalling it again, and it's damageis not at theFULLY repaired rate it SHOULD be, but instead, back to the condition it was in just BEFORE it was repaired. This really needs to be fixed, and soon. The fact it can happen is bad enough. But,ADD to the fact that it can happen back to back, or repeatedly, it just plain rediculous, andcan get to be a huge WASTE of hard earned money for repairs that just got "Deleted". And Storing, then recalling it BEFORE doing a repair, does NOT always work as a workaround. I have personally tried it, and it only happens "sometimes" where it will help to try it that way.
Lag and warping is one thing, but anything that just wastessomething that someone hasworked for is inexcusableand needs to be addressed and fixed. And that's exactly what it is, with the repairs not being accounted for correctly.
I am not sure if this has been mentioned, but I have this issue that sometimes when I dismount my vehicle I end up some 20 foward from where I dismounted. This is a very annoying glitch and it would be good if it were fixed

Got a suggestion/comment.
Last night I did the Mos Espa race track on Tatooine and it took more than 10 minutes to go around the track once on a swoop.
This is not very realistic or exciting. What could be done is give the vehicles a speed boost around race tracks. (say 3x or 4x the normal speed)
To prevent too much lag/load time, the race track should be off-limit forhouses, harvestors, cities, etc. (There's a city on Chilastra called Pit-Stop right on the track... very annoying)
You'd get lots more player races.
Also, the quality of the speeder should affect it's speed and the vehicle should be able to be sliced/modified to increase it's speed.
"...(By the way, that thing you call a swoop, Do me a favor, I know this is "starwars" in name only, BUT GET RID OF THAT BASTARDISATION OF A SWOOP, ITS NOT ONE. It neither looks like a Swoop, acts like a swoop, or flys like a swoop. Watch A new hope special edition, play Shadows of the Empire, or watch Attack of the clones (to see an old swoop) so you can figure out YOU SCREWED UP ROYALY. If all of this is above you, take a look here. http://www.geocities.com/Area51/7677/s.htm#swoo
Or you can go here,

Now, Ill put this into small words so the graphic people can figure out where they messed up. 2 engines, not 4. The "swoop" you've given us is one that looks more like one from ATOC. WRONG GENERATION. Shadows of the empire is based slightly after this game is taking place. (Pahntom Menace)+(Attack of the Clones)+(Lucas insert title for ep 3 here)+(A new hope)+(Galaxies)+(Empier Strikes back)+(Shadows of the empire)+(Return of the Jedi)=you fix the swoops from the wrong time period that are graphicaly fubared anyways."
As stated above, the swoop we ride in this game is from the wrong era.
Sorry to say it, but warping when you dismount, 100m or more, as well as the disapearing ride are still in the game. Both very problematic bugs.
However, I am very glad to see the lift on the generation of vehicles and pets in the wild, and I think that this will resolve the main angst of both bugs, while not fixing the bugs, the problem will be alleviated a great deal.
Thank you devs for listening. Will it be in publish 6?
