The problem is there are so many other better implementations of a "death penalty". Nobody is saying there shouldn't be a death penalty, but when the penalty prevents people from participating in the GCW (in which the heart of the game ulitmately lay) then something is wrong. Why on earth armor has double decay, I will never be able to comprehend.

The problems with decay wouldn't be NEARLY as bad if we could repair armor with some type of accuracy. Hey, make it an artisan specialty or something. Give another group something to do...

It's very simple remove the 1% decay. It's moronic that you pay insurance and your crap still decays as is, this way you still have the money sink that is insurance and it will actually make sense. You have over 40 Pages of people that pay for this game that disagree with the way the "devs" are doing things. Try listening.

Ugh. I just found out that we are still forced to deal with 1% decay on insured items in PvP. I just want a simple response on why we have to deal with ANY decay on insured items????? Players do not want it. Armor decays enough without the 1% penalty. I was looking forward to no penalty, insured PvP play - had my brand new composite armor all ready to go, and now this?????


Devs, please reconsider andaddress this decay nonsense on insured items ASAP. This one thing would make such positive difference to the majority of players. Please respond to us......do not leave us hanging.

Nobody wants to have to go spend faction points and find a recruiter everytime they are gonna get in a fight, or once a day.


Take out insured decay like you said you were!

Right now you Dev's need to do everything in your power to make PvP apealing to players. Until you can sort out some new content and come up with an overall solution to combat balance and the GCW, PvP is the only end-game for a lot of players.


Currently, there aren't any good reasons to participate in the GCW - just penalties. I don't PvP, but I see plently of those that do on my server giving up and leaving the game. The TEF rules and decay on armor make most battles just a pointless exercise in who feels like wasting the most credits on armor decay until one side goes home.


The shrinking PvP player base (largely because of this 1% insured decay on armor) is not helping Armorsmiths like me at all. The armor decays just fine through use, and the additional penalty just keeps me from selling to a larger potential market.


I understand you want a 'sting' to go with death, but this isn't that. Its an annoyance that keeps people from PvP, in which getting 'pwn3d' is sting enough, not to mention the faction loss.


Please guys, keep the PvPers happy. They are the engine that pulls the SWG economy.

Why don't we just get everyone on every server to play in nothing but their knickers? Maybe that will get their attention that the removal of decay is an absolute must.

At issue is NOT who knew what or told whom... I dont really care who is involved inthesedecisions.


Devs need to stop playing the blame game. Stand up and take your lickin for the fact that I have met NO ONE who favors PvP decay, the AT-ST nerfs (whendid youlast see one in-game), or for that matter,the Imp crackdown.


Overwhelming player opiniondoes not play a role in shaping game development. Please stop saying otherwise-it's insulting.

It takes a real leader to stand up and be counted for their own mistakes. As far as the harsh comments from the "community," I must say that you only hear from a minority of players via these forums.


The majority of the friends I play with on a regular basis do not frequent these forums, and rely on me for information concerning upcoming events and publishes. We're here to have fun and enjoy ourselves, not to ridicule others for making mistakes. After digging through all of the whining, crying and flaming on these boards, I feel a if I just swam through raw sewage.


Keep up the great work and /addignore the whinners, cry-babies and flamethrowers.

It's like we are talking about the real world here. When players say hey I wanna fly in real life you can say well no you can't do that.


When we say we don't want PvP decay you don't say "No" because you CAN do that!



A death is a death is a death is BS sorry. Change the code. It's a simple flag and while I might sympathize with you that it's not easy to add that code even if it is but a flag I expect you to add it just the same. There is no "well that's the way it is" in a MMORPG everything is open to discussion and possible change with very few exceptions.



Also remember when thinking about adding in a 24 hour pass that a player needs to be able to gain X amount of faction points during the day in a play session to both do PvP as well as have enough to do it the next day.



FOR EXAMPLE:


A player who wins every fight or say 75% or more of his PvP fights would gain X amount of faction on average during the Average playsession one night. this person should ideally be able to continue PvP the next day without having to farm faction points to be able to afford to do this. Kinda like they got a passing grade in PvP so they can continue the next day for free.


You need to not stiffle those who regulary would PVP everyday by forcing them to go out and faction point grind after each PvP session. Use your metric's and find a nice balance and lean on the side of being nice about it.



PS-> I am not a heavy PvP kind of person but I would like to be when the system embraces it a bit more.

how bout take the **edit** decay and make it on houses and harvesters not clothing or armor


it all decays anyway when u get hit DUH


so take the decay and put it on houses so architects have renewable income


i know that rasing the ber is a good way to get more biz to the architects but come on i don't even make houses to sell anymore besides to people that want to join our city


why CUZ EVERYONE HAS ONE AND THEY DON"T DECAY!!!!!!!


i've paid o what almost a mill or 2 on armor and gee that compos junk collection will just get bigger
