TH, how about increasing the sizeof a resource from 100k to say 200k? or 1000k? That would lower the number of items in the game, reduce lag, reduce the load on your DB, and make it a lot easier for players to deal with. As well, what about increasing the size that crates can hold from 5 - 50 to 50-500?

oops.

1. I think the house item limit should be reworked. For example:

My toon can wear a backpack, increasing her inventory by 50. Backpacks are small, so I suggest that we make full backpacks count as 1 item when dropped ina house. This would make working with large quantities of DNA samples a lot easier.

That's all I have for now.

Thanks,

I did some research recently...

There are only about 200 Rangers (dedicated, not including BH who take tracking. Numbers do notsignificantly increase when you do anyway).

There are over 1k+ Jedi

These numbers are across all servers.

Frederick Skinner
Antarian Ranger, Ranger(0030), Master Rifleman, CH(4214)
Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

Oh wait I forgot I had another idea.

This one is probaly far more complicated to implement but what the heck...

Secure trades can only be done from secure trade "terminals" in the bazaar area of the city. These should also be available for player cities. This will have three actual effects (I think )

1) move the spammers from the starport to the bazaar, I'm not a networking genius but it seems like if we can get people away from the star port there will be less lag in a concentrated area that everyone needs to pass through.

2) make the 'bazaar' seem like an actual bazaar, not eBay.

3) this is where it gets tricky. since the secure trade will only be available from these terminals you would have to create a new command, /give. This way if you are out hunting and someone else in your party needs a stimpack you can give it to them without having to travel to a city. It should work just like a /tip except you the receiver should be given the option to decline the item (If you couldn't decline people would just go around filing up other peoples inventories withPROtatoes or something).

Now why would you do this you ask? Well the secure trading system is probably lead by some unknown government aganecy (like the SEC in the states). Now if it is run by a government agency, do you think the agency would allow you to trade illegal goods (spice, slice tool kits, sliced items) over official channels?. You would be red flagged in a second. So I propose there should be certain concequences to using a secure trade to move illegal goods.

1) buying or selling illegal goods over secure trading will result in being TEF'd by the local authorities (CoreSec, RSF, etc)

2) if you are in a player city you will be TEF'd byanymilitia.

Now, this will turn smugglers into actual criminals!Instead of being allowed to use a government system to trade there goods (lunacy!) they will have to resort to /tip and /give to conduct their trades. This will also lead to con men offering illegal services and then running away with the money. It would be so nice to see a smuggler standing in the alley witha customer saying "give me the money" and the customer "saying give me the spice first"!. Criminals would be forced to act like criminals! No one would trust them. This would take away what I have dubbed "Forced honesty amongst theives" and replace it with "No honesty amongst theives".

Any way just my two cents.

Hello,

I would like to express a few concerns and some ideas that may help them.

1. When a group member goes LD or just out of the area, the leader can not remove that member from the group. Honestly I don't have a solution for this, but just wish that a leader could remove these folk.

2. I have recently mastered the Dancer and Musician professions, and one of the more annoying aspects is AFK leaders that basically let the group selfdistruct. What if there were a voting system? Requiring 3 group members to "impeech" the leader so to speak, thus allowing the group to regain control without having to disband and reform the group.

I apoligize if I have posted this in the wrong forum, but I wasnt sure where would be best.

Thanks

Please, someone take this post serious.

Ok, this is somethign we all used to see, But was taken out for bandwith or server load issues.

But I would love to see harvestor animation again.

Idea's for allowing this, give the char a option in there options menu to turn off harvestor animation and move the animation client side. just like the rotating icons option.

I really miss the immersion of sitting in the middle of a harvestor field working hard.
But I thought it was cool to see things running.

And even more important, lets say you go out and pull material off your harvestors and put more money and power in yours and you see your friends next to yours not running. You send him a e-mail saying your harvestors quit. Maybe they ran out of power/credits. Or even the resource that he was pulling shifted , and maybe he wasnt pulling the same as you. Its just something I really miss as a crafter.

I know its a little thing. But as a little thing, sometimes its the little things that count.

Hey thanks for atleast saying something, heh. I hope the Devs are reading these, my idea will add alot of depth to the game, and it adds a class (mercenary) that both hardcore players and passtime players can emerge themselves into assuming they meet the requirments. Devs..... anything??

I think it would be nice if everyone got 1 picture frame for their hosue. With this picture frame we could display one screenshot that we've taken.

I don't know how hard this would be to do....but I think it would be great to have something really unique....and let everyone have one. That way we could have gallery contests and things like that.

BE spice.

I mean, you already have BE Chef, BE tailor, and BE/CH, why not BE/Smuggler?

I believe that the PvP issue could be expanded effectively by adding "Lawless" zones... or planets where PvP is on be default. Considering that Rori and Talus are not nearly as player populated as the other planets in Galaxies, theese would make excellent canidates.

This would add a great deal of player choice in terms of how they would like to experience or not experience PvP. It could also stimulate the economy by placing certain attractive mineral assets in such zones.

Perhaps players could form a local constabulary. Perhaps there could be treasure. Perhaps -... there are many possibilities, but what this idea does for you is that it makes OTHER PLAYERS into content for players. Human unpredictability would become a key asset to game content. If players choose not to participate, they need never visit these areas.

Lucasfilm Games first (and perhaps the first ever) massively online game - Club Caribe - Used lawless zones to great effect. It was exciting and dangerous and added another motivating factor to keep signing on.

Conflict can be a good thing.

Ok I had a bunch of things I have been thinking about as of late.

I know that each month a new proffession will be spotlighted and adjusted.

So anywise not very long from now will be the Squad leader turn so this is some ideas for that proffession and some changes that will ithink balance the over all game mechanics and also make some of the movement in the game alot easier.

I started thinking about Burst Running and Galloping while riding a creature I made. Boy it was slow, I mean sure it was faster...but not that much faster....I guess I must be spoiled from other online games where when someone runs super fast or burst runs, they really burst run...but not for that long which is the control in those games.

So anywsie, I was thinking that perhaps the Burst Run on players should basically Drain their Action pools, in this way using stims could allow a person to run longer.

The Burst Run specialties from Scouts and Rangers could make it possible to make the amount of Action pool used be less. meaning Masters in those proffessions would be able to burst run longer. As a result of Burst running like this...a person would become tired...I.e. Action pool being lowered and in essence would make them weaker becasue an attack hitting their action pool at this low value might incapacitate them. Perhaps a time limit sort of cool down period of 30 seconds per use should be instilled as well. And as for the length of the burst run...i think that after say 30 seconds of burst running a person would start receiving Fatigue points like 1 every second they continue to move at that speed. A player should also be able to terminate the burst run before their action pool runs out or when ever they want to, but will have to wait 30 seconds before they can burst run again.

So anywsie...on with where I am going with this. A Squad leader has the ability to allow a group of people they are teamed with Burst run. I think that ability should be like a status effect that lasts a certain amount of time that will allow a person in that group to burst run with out using an Action pool.
And as the Squad leader increases in level this status effect should last longer. This effect would be usable once per hour.

Additionally at some Skill Rank of 4 a Squad leader should be able to give his group an Invulnerability status effect to melee and fire arm damage. At a master level this should be able to last for 10 seconds. This temporary invulnerability would only last as long as the squad leader who initiated it is in a group with a person using the ability. It also may not be used unless the Squad leader is teamed with at least one other person. This effect should not extend to creatures or Droids or Non-players. This particular ability to should be usable once per in game day.

So anywsie incorporating this sort of game mechanic...Galloping on a creature should be able to be complimented by a creature handler or person with creature handler abilies. Again, the gallop on a creature should use its action pool...and this total should be agumented by the person riding's skills in creature handling. With a Master Creature handler able to use possibly either a status effect similar to the Squad leader to make a creature temporarily not use Action pool to burst run.

Anywise....as I thought about this I thought of the ramifications....on different groups and proffessions, such as using creature stims and stims of veried quantities. And yes people could and should be able to use these things to let a creature or player Burst run longer. But player Burst running should have a fatigue consequence if it remains too long.

Now using this similar idea for vehicles. An artisan should be able to or perhaps that new proffession that makes space ships should be able to make nitrous oxide enhancers or some form of temporary burt engine effect for vehicles. The results would make the vehicle gain more structure damage over time but the vehicles should be allowed to go faster.

So after thinking about increased speed and burst running I was thinking about the usefulness of it in a combat, player versus player and etc. Well yes it will change the dynamics of combat, but it will make it more believable. I play more 1st person andshooters and many Real time strategy games, and using a hit and run tactic by doing drive bys is a valid use.
This bursting idea would not cause griefing only people who think they are getting griefed cause grief.

Now While I am on the subject of PVP.

Cloning...I dont know why it was decided a person could not clone back to a different planet, but a person should be able to. Heck when they die they should have a list of almost all possible cloning locations to choose from.

With some in cities requiring Credit amounts, and some far away also possibly requiring credit amounts.

Yes I know people would use this as a form of travel but an easy off set would be to make it so when someone dies they will lose a skill level possibly their Master skill in something if they decided to clone too far away.

This cloning feature then opens up a possible option to allow say Architects to build new furniture devices for the Bio-Engineer proffession. Basically allowing a Bio-Engineer to run their very own private cloning centers. Which the Bio-Engineer could charge money for. Of course to off set a person from becoming too rich and to spread out the credits...this Furniture device would only be operational while the owning Bio-Engineer where online.

Ok so..after think about furniture and structures I thought wouldnt it be neat iof another thing an Architect could make where some from of warehouse/Zoo/garage thing....basically a structure that would allow a person to store their vehicles or creatures or droids and possible display them. This would work like this a level one skill level would allow an architect to amke a structure that holds 5 things, at level 2... 10 things, at level 3...15 things...at level 4....20 things.
I personally envisioned there being a static inside that would be the same and not changable...but each structure would have stalls...and these stalls would then have a vehicle or creature displayed in them. Of course this would require new structuires for an Architect...btu common...Architects need some more actual buildings that they may even use themselves.

So this strted me thinking about structures and how I owned a large house, and how I could not put things on the roof or change the sign..I was thinking maybe on buildings a sort of zone should be made to allow a player to put things and build on their house or around it a small radius....sort of add a back yard sort of effect...then perhaps walls or gates and fances might be implemented to make a persons structure interesting....I realling wanted to put lights on the outside of my house...I actually was hoping to put furniture on the roof too so I could have a sort of outdor barbecue look.

I also started noticing my sign on my house...why couldnt there be a way to alter it. So i thought maybe a slot sort of like the kind on a Factory where made that could hold a standard or sign or flag and allow that to be exchanged for the sign on the outside of a house.

So all of this got me thinking about Imperials and Rebels and How their is no propaganda...no signs saying join the imperials, no signs saying join the rebels...no graffiti either....I think this needs to be added...at some point too.

Which eventually lead me to think about the space expansion and the no crashing thing...and I was thinking....why not steal from other RPG games...make a zone that is a damge zone and PVP zone...no matter what people can get damaged in that zone by anyone...should be an advanced zone that only players up to a certain game time of play or skill level should be allowed to enter.

i thien started thinking about smugglers....and I recalled in the star wars movie that luke and ben had to show basically some credentials to a storm trooper.

Which is not done in this game.

I started thinking on the character data screen there is aplace for planet of birth...so why not make it so that a person who is born on a planet may travel around that planet with no problem...but while on another planet...if they have no passport or Visa they would be fined or something.
Which made me think this would then casue a good opportunity for a smuggler player to make flase documents.
Whiel a Person who is a rebel or Imperial could get these documents cheap from a spy.
A smuggler could make whatever they chose.

In addition this got me thinking why the heck there is no special black market on this game for smugglers.
They have a skill tree called underworld connections after all....this tree could give them a sort of ability to located special NPCs that sell black market material. The higher the skill level a smuggler has the better the NPCs they could find.

The objects the NPCs have should then randomly be a collection of things duplicated from what other players already have.(maybe they are forgeries..maybe they are the real thing...who knows how they fell of that transport yesterday) But anywsie...the items should onyl respawn once every day and always change...this way no one will be able to camp or be gauranteed things.

And also this would allow the developers to include special objects in the game...like maybe a strange disc that when used tells the player something about the delevopement of the game or shows a special picture.

So anywsie...I know this is alot...but you know...this game is fun to a point...but has little things that could be done to improve it ay more...and yes some of this stuff is alot like what other games have...but you know...what works......works!!!...thats why things exist.
