I think im like 9 days late but I have this thread in the Core Systems already and a bunch of people have already signed my petiton for my new idea (follow the link in my signature)

Here is basicly what I said in that thread.

Hello there I am a graphic artist and have always enjoyed the artistic side of life, this game, and every game. I immediately wanted to get SWG when I heard if the Image Design Profession and I feel jipped in a way. Dont get me wrong I love my profession and Image Design Communtiy mucho much, we have one of the best correspondants IMO. But I really want to put the "Desinging Images" feel back into Image Design while hanging onto my hairstylist and plastic surgeon stuff as well. I posted this idea in my profession forums and I think I need to increase my voice and see what the rest of the non-checking the ID forum community thinks.

been thinking lately maybe they could make the hairstyling more versatile.

Say for example a certain hairstyle "Hairstyle 1" it has four sides to it: Top,back, side, front. Now say they give us like 3 or four different variations in each category, so in actuality you can build a plain hairstyle or change the frontal area (bangs) into a diff style, sideburns, ponytails or braids in the back,as well as the top This way Hairstlye 1 could truly be more unique and they could do this for each hairstyle so instead of one graphic the "hair" there would be 4 sections that combine to make that unique hairstyle...this would greatly improve buisness. Of course all of the variations of Hairstyle one in each section should combine with each and every variation well so things dont look blotchy....if this is confusibng any of you I could try and draw a little diagram perchance. Its basicly like this in character creation you have 'x' different headstyles to choose from 'x' doifferent noses...how about splitting the actual hair of the characters up just likeyou do the head into different sections where you can combine bangs 1 with sideburns 2 or sideburns 3...etc.? Anyone understand me here?

Maybe for tatoos do a similar thing Have a Tribal pallete and many different tribal variations that you can combine together...tatoos should be very easy to implement...maybe request that The Art Team look into some tatoo magazines for inspiration and ideas.

I got this idea from an old game I used to play called Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun. when you make a battleclan you can create a flag for it and you have so many different variations that you can combine I combines actual numbers and other miscelaneous symbols to get a picture that resembled a phoenix (it was our clan mascot) oh BTW they had a color pallete for each variation...i think three variations combine into one picture.

*edit* I would really like to see something like this thought about of combining small little graphics into a flag, and then it can be made into a clothing schematic that we can sell to tailors or an architecht schematic that we can sell to architechts or a Vehicle Builder (Artisan Im guessing? ) This way we could drasticly increase our buisness and expand from just makeover plastic surgeons and into "Image Designers" look those two words up...mention it to devs *winks* Im sure tons of clans would want to "sport" their colors on their clothes, vehicles, houses (via flags and banners) droids...heck even tatoo it on their arm....its an idea. Build on it.

------------

k that is a direct cut n paste basicly I want an art system involved similar to the battleclan thing avilable in Tiberian Sun, someone mentioned Daoc before. Some of my favorite games of all time were Mario Paint, Jet GRind Radio, All of the Nintendo 64 Wrestling games, and just recently Need for Speed Underground because they really let you customize things with your own personality and artistic expression into it. please /agree or /disagree on this and post your comments I want to be an "image designer" not "Barbies Makeover fun" proggy.

this whole project can be done little by little over time by the art team Im just asking that they consider it and one of my main focuses that I would actually like to see more than the hairstyles you overlooked it was in the *edit* portion of the bottom of my previous two posts here let me cut and paste it again for more discussion by all.

^^ that was my idea. Basicly as I also said earlier I played around with a battleclan system in CnC Tiberian Sun and each battleclan could utilize this art system where you have three layers and on each you add a symbol and color it. Using the number "1" and two other random abstract designs I was able to mold the closest representation of a phoenix bird that I could with that system. The Phoenix was our clan's mascot, symbol, logo, and our entire clan was based around its style, personality, history and finess. In Actuality if something similar to this was devloped and you made say 32 symbols, that wouldnt be too graphic intensive considering you would just have to resize each symbol and make one of each color on the pallette, its still the same graphics and everyone would have them. Imagine the creativity that some people could use with this. You all have probably seen the Home Decorating things that Garva investigates and the signatures that some have on these forums are equally amazing. Imagine if it werent just 32 graphics but a lot more features we could add into this for that complete custom design for every PA,Buisnessman, player, whatever. People could recognize your cantina by its banner, market "I went to the Tavern by the Cavern and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" type souvenirs about your cantina, or PAs can really utilize this system to sport their clan's logo and colors on their armor, houses, vehicles, clothes, or possibly a tatoo.

We just need the Art Team to implement an "Image Design" system into SWG so we wont be stuck as just "Plastic Surgeons/Hairstylists" An Art system where we make the images then sell the schematics to whomever would make us a unique part of SWG and be closer to our role in SWG as Image Designers. With an art system like this we will rarely ever get bored and heck maybe once a month they can just throw in a new symbol or design or other thing in there for us. "Toss us a bone" every now and then. Not only Image Designers would benefit from this either the entire community would be able to utilize this system to better enjoy their SWG experience.

anymore /agree's or heck even further build onto my idea. Its a pretty awesome system if we could get it to work anything is possible though.

Well this is a long shot but then again that's what this forum is for I would guess.

As a medical supplies crafter, and ex- master arch, crafting seems far too "solo" driven. As well, loot still seems a bit useless. I would puropose that a few more items, craftable by elite crafting proffesions would have a sopt for an ingediant that would come from another proffesion, this item would be completly optional however.

So, items that are being made now would not change it the least bit, should you obtain this optional componet, you could incress the, stats, or different color, or more units made, ect, ect by a small amount. Some of these optional componets could come from Rangers, meaning that only rangers would have the skill to extract a Bol Chest Bone, the chest bone could then be used to add a few more points to the healing factor of a stim pack or something of that nature.

In this system there would be other items that others could obtain, such as we already see with the Peko Peko feather, and some items that can only be crafted by other crafters such as we see with BE+Taylors, or Taylors+Armorsmiths, both those proffesions can use something that the other makes to enhance thier items.

In summary, the items would optional, would be on a few schem not all, and throught the wide variety and number of schems out theremany if not all of the proffesions could have something to offer.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!

The need to farm for drops is what makes EverQuest crafting a pain in the patottie!! There's a reason it's nicknamed EverCamp! Hours andhours dedicated to hunting down monsters I could care less about just to get a few lousy items to craft with. And makingother classesthe only ones that can get them means holding our ability to craft these items hostage to another class.

NO, NO, NO, HELL NO, JUST SAY NO!!!!

BTW, Did I mention I really don't like this idea?

Aperantly you do not understand the idea very well. You would still be able to craft every single item on your own and have the quality the same as it is now. The things that come from others would only be for moderate or minor changes, more of a cool factor less of a absolute must factor. The items should come from things that are fairly camp free, such as things that come from spwans we fight in the game everyday already, for instance when is the last time you saw a Bol on Dant? Often, it may be rare to harvest let's say a Bol tooth, but how are you going to camp something that you can pull from a mission terminal.

Let's say for the sake of argument that anyone who has a "Bol tooth" is unwilling to give it up, still the crafters items would still be the same as they are now, so no real loss, maybe just one less color to choose from that you don't have now anyway. If it's done right there would be enoufh things coming from enoufh other proffesions that no one class would have the corner on the market. Besides I'm also talking about a few schem, not every single one.

Further more, i'm talking also about crafters making things for other crafters, so one hand washes the other type of senario. Along with optional schem componets, there could be 3 or 4 different things that would work in that slot. So there could be some rare stuff as well as some more common things.

To sum it up

1. Items would be the SAME as they are now without the optional part

2. The incress in value would be small, more of a cool factor suchs as extra colors or a different look for a weapon but the weapons stats are the same, things of that nature

3.There is room in the system for some things to be rare and incress item value, however any thing that can take a "rare" item should also be able to take a more common item for a different but less effective out come

4.Reduced camping because the MOST items would basicly be drops from mobs that are fairlyEASY to find; how often the mob would drop the item is another issue.

5. This idea also pertains to crafters making things for crafters, so as already is the case for BE+Taylors. Crafters should be fairly sypathetic to the needs of a fellow crafter.

6. Overall - it's been said that this game is far to solo driven, this is a simple way to help incress interaction. This idea has no worse problems that we see with rare resources or peko peko feathers. With rare resources how to camp a resource before it spawns? If you really want to find a peko peko alb feather you can, I did so this week and guess what, not a camper in sight cause the spawn points are fairly well spread and there is more than one place to find them.

All in all how can this idea, carefully though out, hurt the game?

I second Kaloman's idea of using screenshots to craft pictures!

Going one step further maybe players could buy cameras in game with a certain number of shots. When the player uses the camera all the menus are taken away (like when you Ctrl+Shift+H) and a display appears with the number of shots left and a button to take a photo. Players would then have to take photos at the POI's to earn their explortion badges. These photos could then be made into pictures and explorers could set up galleries and even museams with pictures and artifacts from across the galaxy.

Ideally the photos would be rated for composition, like in Pokemon Snap, but I know thats a bit of a luxury.

On a similar vein to enabling picture crafting I would LOVE to see the ability to craft player statues!!!

A player would put on their best clothes and seek out an artisian (or new 'artist profession'??) to sculpt a statue. The artist wouldmake'sketches' of the player (a schemematic) and then craft the statue. The finishedpiece would be an exact replica of the player which they could then place in their home / city as a decoration. Depending on the artists lvl and the materials used they could have a variety of options;

-finish (stone, gold, marble etc)

- size (the better the artisain the bigger they can make them)

- and maybe even pose(??)

All a bit frivolous but would be neat

The Bazaar needs to be tweaked. For a fee any merchant should be able to have a list of his or her available wears and the associated planet/waypoints. As a new player to this game (1 month now) the MOST annoying thing I have encountered is when I need some elusive product or resource. I HATE when I spend my hard earned credits to go somewhere and upon arrival find the player merchant EMPTY of all wares.

That needs to change PLEASE.

I got a new idea tell me what you guys think, not to cahnge the currentsubject but tell me waht you think.

-Adding a Mercenary Class/Terminal.

-A Mercenary is a professional soldier hired for service in a foreign army.

-If you want to be a Mercenary it doesnt take up skill points at all, you apply to be one and if you reach the qualifications (quest based) then you are added to a list in a terminal, and from there you can be hired by other factions via e-mail( havn't decided wether your standing points should effect what factiosn can hire you) and players can hire other players, but the mercenary player decides the price. How ever a hired mercenary gets no XP while hired only the initial pay (obviously there will be limits as far as XP) . A Mercenary is similar to BH but much different.A Bounty Hunter isone who hunts or pursues an animal orcriminal fugitive for whom a reward is offered. They both work for money but have very different objectives.

Just an idea but tell me what you guys think of this idea please.

The CH community has many great ideas to make CH viable in pvp(GCW) combat again, including man-made armor upgrades, and mountable weapon/shield systems. I don't want these features to mean CH "ownage", but it would be nice if it made our enemies actually pay attention toour pets for a change. I'm also not opposed to these upgrades adding CL's to our creatures--that way, you wouldn't have to worry about a CL70 creature with added armor up to heavy, packing a mounted lightning cannon--the way I figure it, an armor upgrade could add 10 CL's, and a weapon upgrade add 15-20 CL's. This way if MCH's wanted their pets to have both upgrades, chances are, they'd only have ONE(CL40-45)pet out with both upgrades, or two lower level pets with one upgrade each. Also, I'm thinking the armor upgrades could stack up to heavy armor, which would add 20-30 CL's. I know this isn't likely to happen with a combat revamp--perhaps with a far off CH revamp--but the CH communtiy is in bad shape when it comes to PVP...right now if you are CH, and are caught tef'd or overt, it's best to beg your opponent to not kill your pet as well..."please sir, don't kill my rancor, he's no threat to you"--does that sound right to anyone familiar with the star wars universe?

Can we have a modification of the /addignore <name> command that would be formatted: /addignore <name> <brief reason>?

It would have tobe like the friend system in that you could see the reason next to each name when you view your ignore list.

Even a one word reason or fixed categories would be sufficient - some categories I would use are:

tumbling
spamming

ALLCAPS
idiot

l33td00d

perma-ban

This would allowus to emptyour ignore list of the less worrying problems without risking oursanity on the others.

It seems to me you should keep any xp you have after all if you drop a skill and decide to re learn later on you have a little start so you don't have to go through the very low levels again, in life if you give something up you don't forget every thing. I fell this would incougage people to stick at a master profesion to max out xp points befor surrendering the skill. it seems a s soon as you have masterd it you might as well give it up ( Unless it's the skill you have been wanting to play in a big way ).

Is this the place to submit ideas ??

One of the many questions I hear are:
- how many cities are there on a planet?
- has a planet reached the cap?
- how many citizens are there in a given city?

I think, the easiest method to answers all of these questions is to have a Planetary Terminal ONLY in Spaceports.
The terminal can display like:
Current Number of cities 18
Rank 1 Total 10
Ranks 2/3 Total 5
Ranks 4/5 Total 3
City PoP Location
Vandelheim 79 345, -2319
Titan 74 196, -1996
Worrior 21 unregistered
New City 11 unregistered

Your not identifying the location of the city - just it's existance. So, that's not a problem for either the Politician level or the currently Planetary Map Ctrl+V.
You will still need the Politician tree, Fiscal Policy I to register the city on the planetary map in Ctrl+V to be able to see/find it.
Just an idea,
TKs,
Keep up the GREAT work.

To help make the CH profession profitable (as of now, we make little to no money as a CH), we NEED the following done:

1. Able to DROP pets inside our house like a BioEng Pet Deed. This will not only save us on space in our Datapad, but will enable us to make Zoo's and charge people for entry. Heance, make money.

2. Able to sell pets on the Bazar and Vendors like the BioEng Pet Deeds can.

3. Just a side note, it now(since the nerf) takes forever (compared to other professions)to reach Master Creature Handler. This makes the profession doubly useless and annoying.

I just hit a bunch of buttons and hope everything works out.
