Unfortunately, there were many technical issues involved with fixing the Hermit badge quests. I have rescheduled the fixes for the Hermit badge quests for Publish 9 now that we have a clearer idea of what is wrong and how much time it would take to fix them. Sometimes, things appear more simple on the surface than they really are once we figure out the problems and this turned out to be one of those times.

How about the Lost Aqualish location badge? That MUST be an easy fix, seems like it's only a miss-linked trigger.

Make all starport and shuttle waits 5 minutes AND make it so we can travelTO any starport FROM any starport. Conducting large scale group activities in this game is an absolute horror.

WOW, some great stuff!! I especially like these things:

1) Survey Droid. I would love to know more about this.

2) Maintenance Droid. THis is great, now if it can add power as well.......

3) Fixed Vehicle Bug. This has been an issue in the fact its a great money sink, and will now get those artisans back in the speeder business.

Really looking forward to this one.

  1. Droids can't be called insidea cantina, or a med center, or a private house, or a hotel, etc. They need to be called outside in cities, or inside your public residence. So are Dancers and Musicians going to be expected to call their droids before entering the cantina?

  2. Surveying droids are going to be a nice addition, but I'm wondering if we'll be able to find concentrations of a specific resource ona planet, or if they'll only tell us whether a resource is present. If it's just resource reporting, that's not as useful.

  3. There's a potential problem with the creature harvesting module. Specifically, anybody who can call multiple droids will be able to harvest more meat than somebody who can only call one. So, they spent the extra money on the ability. Well, this would also allow a Novice Scout/Master DE. DEs can have multiple droids out, right? They'll be able to harvest more than a Scout with Hunting II, by virtue of having multiple harvesting droids present. This is speculation on my part, but should be looked into.

Reduced the wait time on shuttle ports to 5 minutes (Starports are still 10 minutes)

The star port wait is one of the worst things in this game. I can't believe the "immersion" whiners got this changed. Every time I go to the star port I hear frustrated people gnashing their teeth about the wait. Then somebody pipes up and says it's getting changed in the next publish, and knowing it's getting changed helps everybody with the wait. Now you're telling me we're still screwed? Gimme a break! The "immersion" whiners can RP the fargin wait, if they feel that strongly about it! Finally getting what should have been a zero wait down to 5 minutes was such a morale boost. Useless, unnecessary downtime is a big pet peeve with me. It's why I don't play EverCrap. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARG!!!!!!!!!!
The only immersion this helps with is improving my chances of getting immersed in World of Warcraft.

Actually the immersion whiners didn't get this changed. Like DeQuosaek said, that was the plan all along.

What the immersion hungry peoplechanged was the anyplanet to anyplanet from any starport travel.

"Combat Profession Bug Fixes

We have made a decision to address major combat issues only and not do the full combat balance at this time. After the Crafting Experimentation experience, we realized that we need to spend more time than a single publish to truly accomplish our goal, which is to make combat fun and engaging. To have the depth to combat that I think everyone wants in the system we want get much more player feedback and balance on these types of things. We will be developing the Combat Balance separately in a Sandbox over a long period of time, with plenty of Test Center and correspondent participation. We will release this one when it is ready... and not before."

No, they didn't leave anything out.

Since you are so fond of criticizing others about not paying attention to details, maybe you should do the same yourself. The sentence you so lovingly highlighted is referring to the COMBAT BALANCE. In the first sentence he states "We have made a decision to address major combat issues".

Here is some more from his post:

Publish 8 (Droids Rebuilt)

Utility Droids
Droid Power Display
Droid Customization
Image Designer Enhancements
Fix Hermit quests
Increase the amount and frequency of MOB Spawns
Fix PSG's with Random stats
Revise Starport Routes/ Lower Shuttle times
Lengthen the amount of time it takes for structures to decay
New User: guided experience through starting professions
Combat Profession Bug Fixes

Notice that last item there.

People are complaining because there are not addressing any major combat issues. I see one fix to a pistoleer issue, and nothing more. Combat (PvE and PvP) has major issues, and has had them since the beginning. They have repeatedly promised to address these issues, and repeatedly failed to do so.

what is this complete crock about the starports? what happened devs, wuss out? or did you just decide it would be great to dangle the carrot in front of our noses only to take it away. you people make me sick.

NO ONE CARES ABOUT SHUTTLEPORT WAITS.

We want starport waits down to 5 minutes, not shuttleports. Jebus, you'se your flipping Metrics and realize that people dont use shuttleports now with the advent of speeder bikes. people do MAYBE 1/4 of their longer distance travel via shuttleport. MAYBE. the rest is done by starport and bike. Get with the program.

Give us the 5 minute starport waits you promesied us.

Point out where theypromised you 5 minute STARPORT (not SHUTTLEPORT) wait times. I dare you. They NEVER said they were going to do anything about STARPORTS (or spaceports)

You are mistaken. Next time try reading or maybe paying attention to details.

No, they said they were LOOKING INTO changing the starport times, but never said they would or wouldn't. They asked the public what we thought... and the majority said make it 5 minutes. So the Devs did the opposite and said we'll have something better in about 6 months (GCW publish... which is a ways off, so ya, about 6 months). YOU need to read better and thank you.

Yes, they never said they would or wouldn't. So when did they promise they would? They didn't. Simple. The person I was posting to was mistaken. He says we were promised 5 minute spaceport wait times and we, in fact, were not. Good day, sir.

Actually they did promise they would reduce starport times (implicitly) and they did promise they would make it any planet to any planet (explicitly):

17:49] [TH] Im happy to announce that in publish 8, shuttleport waits will all be 5 minutes and players will be able to travel from anyplanet to anyplanet. We are currently discussing the details of reducing the starport times.

Shuttleports WILL be 5 minutes, players WILL be able to travel from any planet to any planet. We are discussing the DETAILS of reducing starport times. Two explicit changes promised. When you say we are discussing the details of reducing starport times, that necesarily implies that starport times are being reduced. By logic necessity that statement means starport times are being reduced in publish 8. So they did promise this. If the change it they lied. If you continued paying for this game based on that representation they may very well be liable for that misrepresentation.....

Has anyone on TC gotten this (Aqualish cave) explorer badge? I went there last night and explored both in and around the cave for about 20 minutes, but either the trigger area isn't implemented or I'm very unlucky and didn't happen to step in it. I'll try again in a week or so to see if it's fixed.

Just a few things I'd hope to see or want to know if it's possible.

Added an Interplanetary Survey Droid - This droid is capable of using survey tools and traveling to other planets to report on the resources present on that planet.

Would droids be able to relay back concentrations or will you still be required to have artisan to test concentrations? If so this would greatly help out medics/doctors/combat medics who may not have the ability to survey the resources they need for their stims and such.

Added Stimpack Dispenser Module to the DE skill tree: This skill allows a player with Pharmacology IV to load up a properly equipped droid with Stimpack A's. Once loaded, any player within the droid master's group may issue a /requestStimpack command to receive healing.

Why is it limited to stim A's when thepharmacology IV gives the individual the ability to use level40 stims? I would think that should be possible considering that the medic has toachieve that level and also make the packs. Of course this all rests on whether or not the droidis on the medical timer. If it's not then I would like to be able to load stim Cs on the droid as stim As are a waste of time especially in any fight that would have another player requesting a heal. I doassume that the only person who can load and use this droid would be medics with pharmacologyIV so it rules out any possible misuse by people whodon't have pharm IV.

Added Creature Harvester Module to the DE skill tree: This module will allow any character with the Novice Scout ability to program and control an equipped droid to advance on the look-at target of the player and harvest the resources on the creature. The player can preset the droid to harvest one of the three types: meat, hide or bone. Or the player can just let the droid pick a random resource type.

Does this affect the ability for the owner to harvest the resources off animals?

Droid customization kits now have an extended lifespan before the custom colors fade. (Correspondent Issue)

Why "an extended lifespan"? Right now I have more fun pulling my droid out and wondering what color it will be. There's still no reason to color my droid so just like vehicle custimaztion kits, they become vendor fillers. They will be bought by very few people if any.

Okay, scratch my prior comments. I was echoing concerns somebody voiced in the Scout forum. But I just confirmed MCH can't call multiple droids, and I've heard MDE can't call multiple droids, though I could have sworn I saw our MDE with two droids out. Could be mistaken.
