Being turned OVERT without any control is something we CANNOT deal with, and has to go.
But my friend, you DO have control. You can play a natural. Its a choice, and a choice we all have. You may not like the choice, but you still have it.
It's the old have your cake, and eat it to.
Do you want to play a Rebel? Then except the risk. The risk has been incressed here resently, true, but you still have the option to revoke your Rebel stats and go naturel. You can even be a rebel in spirt, but if you want the rank, recanition, and perks, then you accept the risk involved.
I don't want to come off nasty, but it's really that simple. Being a rebel, or imp for that matter has NEVER been risk free. Yeah, it's been made more risky. To be honest, life as a rebel should be risky. The fact that it never was up until now was an oversight on the Devs point of view i think.
Never once has it been stated that a covert rebel is 100 % safe 100 % of the time. Now it's more risky. Gut Check time. You want to be a rebel, then you accept the new risk involved. If not, go naturl and act like a rebel.

Sorry, but turning Neutral is not, I repeat to get through your thick skulls, NOT an option.
That would shut me out of the main story line and far too much content to be a valid option.
And as I have stated befor, I can live with TEFs.
Its being turned to OVERT is NOT acceptable.
yes it is. Like i said. It's a choice. You want to play the main story? you want to be a rebel? Then you have to accept the risks involved. If NOT. then you go netural, or quite the game. Thems be your choices. Sorry if you don't like them.

Bryan1138 wrote: Being unknowingly and unwillingly thrust into PVP combat has nothing to do with "if you are a rebel" or "with this patch." Imperials have been thrust into combat since long before this patch simply by trading with someone. Or any of the other ways listed (beat to death) to get a TEF unwillingly and unknowingly.
Please don't taint valid concerns by tossing them in the same bag with such tripe. Thanx.
I do believe every circumstance in which an Imperial covert can get a TEF applies equally to Rebel coverts. If I'm incorrect, please educate me.
This is exactly correct, and is exactly V-G was stating: "has nothing to do with if you are a rebel." Reading comprehension difficulties again, Hlicalanthe?
And please describe one way in which the AI turns an imperial covert overt. 'Cause that's what's happening to Rebel coverts with this patch. Not only is that a serious change in pvp philosophy, as TH has admitted...
This is not a change in philosophy, but in PvP mechanics. The serious change in philosophy mentionedby THto which you mistakenly refer is how the developers are now channelingRebels and Imperials into more Star Wars-like roles. Neither Bryan1138 nor V-G inthe above post werediscussing the merits of beingturned Overt versus gaining a TEF.At issue was whether you could be "thrust into combat" prior to this patch - and it is obvious you could be. Glad I could educate you, Hlicalanthe.
Keep your insults to yourself, please. (How do you like it?) Can you at least make an effort to be constructive?
To state that this isn't a valid concern, whether you agree or disagree with the argument, only proves your close-mindedness and let's us know not to take any arguments you make seriously.

The bug occurs when you have a TEF. and are then killed by a NON Imp/Rebel faction mob.. your insurance is used up, and the TEF is left on.. prompted by NPC's around korvella cloning center to imediatly agro you.If your items aren't insured Faction death results in degradation at uninsured costs.DS
Ah, I see. Have you /bug'd it? That's the best way to report bugs like that.

I am part of a small group trying to keep organic prices reasonable on Eclipse. We don't sell higher than 20cpu because we don't feel it is right. And I am still making very good money from doing this. But these people running around charging upwards of 80cpu and 100cpu are killing the economy. The end product costs are going to be outrageous.
I hope that the devs have seen this and heard this before. Just wanted to voice opinion.

This is a suppy-and-demand problem. The Suppliers DO NOT ask for this insane prices, the ppl needing it are OFFERING this insane prices just to get the maximum share of a way too low supply. This could be solved for example with massively increasing harvests /or/ making the Rangerprofession something more people (outside from the small group that does it because they like the idea of a Ranger regardless of the implementation) would want to play and as such increasing again the total harvested amount to finally meet the demands of the market.
But yes, the problem has to be adressed and the easiest solution should be implementable with very small effort.

Funny, I'm thinking the same about you. No need for rebuttal; I'll continue to let me posts stand against yours.

The TEF do to scans has been in all the notes before the publish. It would figure that a rebel (notice I use singular) would be crying about it. Though I have come across rebels that fight with honor, it would figure that there would be some that would cry about the unfairness of our emperor. If you are so nervous about being converted to overt, go neutral. Stop your useless struggle against the empire. The emperor will forgive you for your transgressions, but he never forgets.
Again, something speaking about something he doesn't understand.
The penalty is being turned Overt, not getting a TEF. Please get your facts straight before crying, yourself.

Hehe, it was nothing more than a little good natured humor (though I should've added ato make it more clear), and I certainly don't mind when people direct it towards me for similar mistakes.
That said, I didn't just post to "leave sarcastic comments"; I went on to provide a clear and concise rebuttal to his argument--which is more than you just did with respect to mine.
My point was made. It had nothing to do with how you finished the post or the intention behind it, as your 'tongue-in-cheek' comment shows
Let me start off by saying "What Nomad said..." (with one exception--I think someone who reaches the rank of Surface Marshal, for example, should be able to store units of troopers on their datapad. i.e., a company of stormtroopers that when called from the datapad would generate, say 20 troopers).
Now for my weekly rant:
Publish 6 has been a long time coming, and a lot of us players, not just Imperial but Rebel and neutral as well, have been looking forward to just this sort of an addition to SWG. Great job SOE for making it happen! OMG, where's my rant? Oh yes, now that it's out, fix it! Though I haven't encountered any major problems (other than some of the spawning bugs that occured on the first day of release) there's a lot of polishing left to be done.
-First off, I'm an Imperial Sergeant and have yet to be scanned. Is the scanning of Imps broken?
-Though I am seeing stormtrooper spawns in Imperial controlled cities, and even in some of the busier neutral cities like Coronet and Theed, there doesn't seem to be enough. The troopers are either being killed off too easily by Rebels or just aren't spawning enough. Also when they do spawn, they don't seem to so much patrol the streets as just wander aimlessly, sometimes even getting themselves 'stuck' in corners or against walls (making themselves easy targets for Rebels looking for some quick faction points, btw).
-Are we going to see the crackdown spread to other cities? I mean Kor Vella, Kadaara, and Bestine are a good start, but come on, how many people really spend any time in those cities anyway? We should see more action in major hubs like Coronet, Theed, Mos Eisley, and Mos Entha.
-Are factional HQs still broken? My guildies and I held a Rebel HQ for hours yesterday waiting for it to come into its vulnerability period, only to find that the terminal still wasn't sliceable.
-In future updates can you improve faction perks. As and Imperial, I'd like to see stormtrooper armor with decent resists and perhaps even an invulnerability to disease and poison since, according to the Star Wars encyclopedia, stormtrooper armor is one of the toughest armors in the Galaxy and was completely sealed to protect agains chemical, biological and radiological attacks (perhaps sell the schematic so it can be craftable for Imperial armorsmiths). Also include other types of armor like dark stormtrooper armor, scout armor, swamp scout armor, pilot suits, etc. Also some variations on the dress uniform would be nice, like a cloak wearable by officers, a black dress uniform, and perhaps a black 'spec ops' beret(we really need more hats in game). These are just a fraction of what could be offered as faction perks. Just look to the films and books for reference.
-And finally, please, for the love of God, fix the Imperial Hat!
And Corrilia needs better housing choices, Naboo and Tattooine have great types but Corillia has basically the generic ones. (I hate the fact that you only get a house with stairs on the Largest one).
