Thread: Weekly Roundtable Discussion (Week Ending 2-16-04)
well, we'll not get a dev responce today, i belive it's a holday for most people... not me... grumble grumble...
But, since it's fun and i hope to draw a reaction out of our dev team, i'll make my predictions for the end of this weekly round up.
TH comes in tomarrow, scans over it, locks it, and starts a new thread without ever responding to anything that's been brought up. ![]()
Have i mentioned how much i love our new and improved lines of comunation? Don't YOU? ![]()

This is not a change in philosophy, but in PvP mechanics. The serious change in philosophy mentionedby THto which you mistakenly refer is how the developers are now channelingRebels and Imperials into more Star Wars-like roles. Neither Bryan1138 nor V-G inthe above post werediscussing the merits of beingturned Overt versus gaining a TEF.At issue was whether you could be "thrust into combat" prior to this patch - and it is obvious you could be. Glad I could educate you, Hlicalanthe.

There's NO mention of "channeling Rebels and Imperials into more Star Wars-like roles" nor is there any implication of this. In fact, TH specifically states that it's a change in PvP PHILOSOPHY. So, please, if you're going to be snarky at least try to have your facts straight. Glad I could educate YOU, Kirillian.
ok i cant see anywhere else to put this so here goes.
As a result of the new track death system, the death bug resulted in 3 ekstra deaths for me and 1 skill loss.
Then im told that, hey we are looking at the bug, but we cant fix you or your problem.
This is outrageous and stuff like this that i now have 6 deaths and lost a skill, and have to wait 1 week before trying to get more xp, and you cant fix it, is the stuff that make people stop playing.
Cause we have to face it not much help in the live chat, the customer service is almost always the same respsonse, sry cant fix your problem were sry.
Its not like the first time i considered stopping playing this game cause of lack of support, and i think this is the greatest game ever so it kinda makes me sad that sometimes the support isnt as good as we would expect.
Ifthe support in this game was better there would be more playing, its simpel the people that are "victims" of the bugs and loose cash, skills, stuff in inventory and cant get reimbursed in any way, alot choose to stop playing and they are not running around telling all what a great game this is ![]()
I got 5 of my friends to play this game, thats a good mouth to mouth effect, and vice versa is the lack of support.
From a frustrated jedi who only wishes to have fun not argue with CSR ![]()
But a great update alot of xtra stuff now, like the new food kicks... ![]()
Why did Publish 6stop saving thesize and positionof the datapad window? This was working just fine -- why was it changed?I can't see that any code was changed in Publish 6 that affects the datapad, and yet I now have to resize the datapad back to where I want it Every Single Time I log back into SWG.
I don't understand why this was changed, why it wasn't caught in testing, and why it wasn't corrected. All this does is fan the flames of concerns that the code development process is still not being adequately supervised.
It would be nice to have this datapad positioningfunctionality restored in an upcoming hotfix or major publish. But even more important will be to answer the question of why such unnecessarystumbles continue to happen.

Every player would be allowed one post at a time, for a max duration of 7 days (like bazaar sales), each post being limited in length.
So no real point in using it then when I can sell more items or make more apprentice points by shouting in front of starports.
It's a neat idea but you got to remember that the majority of players will always take the easy route

This is an item Im checking. I think furniture "dye kits" are a good consumable that Architects could make. I havent dug in deep yet to find out what the technological challenges are. If we can make them "colorable", it might be that only furniture from "this day forward" can be colorable, but there again, thats good for architect wallets...
