Thread: Live Issues Publish 9: Secrets of the Force

Some Live Update Updates from today:
Veteran Reward: Nobody received the Veteran Reward Picture that was to have been granted to characters who were more than 30 days old. These will be granted tomorrow (Wednesday). We apologize for the slight delay.
2) Vehicles/ Droids accessible from Toolbar: This was an erroneous message that should not have been in the update notes just yet. This has been removed for the time being, but it will be available in publish 10 or sooner.
3) Badges: Clarification: There is no separate tab on the Character Sheet. Character badges are now located on the "personal" tab of the character sheet in the middle box instead of the examine window.
4) Weapon Switching/Combat Cue: Update notes mention that switching weapons during combat goes through the combat command queue. This is not currently visible. We are investigating this now.
5) Junk Dealers and Loot Kits: Players can get the kits by visiting Junk Dealers that are located in Combat Guild Halls and request a “loot kit". Players can gain the loot kits by conversing with the Junk Dealer and selecting, "What sort of items do you have that you are looking to get rid of?" Once players decide which loot kit they would like, they may begin collecting the parts. Not all junk dealers are offering Loot Kits.
6) 0/0 Items: Items with condition 0 have red box around them, some are still usable with the condition 0. We are investigating this now.
7) Vendor/ Bazaar Resources Display: The name fields for resources on the bazaar no longer include the amount of the resource or the name. We are working on a fix and it will most likely be in a Thursday’s hotfix.
8) Personal Shield Generators: There are reports on the forums about inconsistencies. If you have information on how to reproduce this problem, please post it here in this thread.
Jedi - Multiple Death and XP: There are reports of confusion with Jedi experience loss on multiple deaths. If you have information on how to reproduce this problem, please post it here in this thread.
Twin Force CrystalsInformation: There was some confusion on Twin Force Crystals. Twin Force Crystalsare converted to power crystals, not color crystals. This is working as intended. Also, a Jedi must have the Initiate box before able to tune crystals.
Twin Force Crystals still say Twin Force Crystals. Are you going to be changing the names to Damage Crystals? Does that mean Damage ones dropped say Twin Force still or do they say Damage?
And the Network Monitor that you turn on in the Options still max's at 29 FPS and never does 30 FPS liek release notes stated.

Issue: Launchpad continually does a full rescan everytime I try and log in to the game.
What he said. Takes me 35 mins just to log on. /flail
Issue: Not pulling molecular clamps from crates. It wasn't broken. Put it back please.
Server: Corbantis
Planet: Corellia
Location (x,y):
Your profession: Master Smuggler
Instructionson how to recreate the bug: Can't pull clamps from crate while slicing. Must pull item, then use to slice. VERY frustrating that you changed something that didn't need fixing.
The armor delay sounds like crap to. Thankfully I never take my armor off since, with my template, there's no sense in doing anything without a buff and my armor in the first place anyway.
Hell, I think I'm now uber. /Sarcasm Thanks SOE.
So i'm fighting something with my VK on, i hit my flamer, wait a few hours, it equips, i hit flame2, another day passes while the delay wears off, go to re-equip my VK... another few days...
Oh LOOKY i'm dead because all these stupid uber mobs that hit for 2-3k dmg have just ripped me a new sphincter because while my flamer is equiped i loose my 50% TKM toughness. Hurah, i'm dead.
If TK/Commando was an intended combo then why of why make this change?

TH the smugglers are quite upset by our stealth nurf.
"Profession: Smuggler
You will no longer be able to slice an item by using a tool in a crate. You will have to remove it from the crate first."
WHAT?! WHY!?! How is this an issue in any way shape or form!? Why would you do this !? This is just crazy. Uncalled for Nurf.
zofo64 explained:
We said.....
We are having problems with our laser knives. We are having to pull them out of crate to get 10 uses out of them. If we leave them in the crate we only get one use. Please fix this...
What they Heard....
Blah blah blah.. Have to pull out of crate to get 10 uses... blah blah blah... Please fix this...
This was your solution!? Make is so that you cannot auto pull CHARGED tools maybe ... but not mol. clapms and WUKs/AUKs.
The issue here is that this "fix" ... fixes NOTHING. It mearly addes NEEDLES double clikcing and drag-dropping to each slice. This is a value add in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM ... yet it was tossed it in (completely by passing the step where it was supposed to hit test center) in a mindless nurf.
There was no balance issue here... there was no economy issue (the tools will still be created and stored in the same quantity and in crates ... you just added 3 needles double clicks per slice.) NEEDLESS AND POORLY THOUGHT OUT KICK IN THE NUTS TO SMUGGLERS!
Nobody at SOE thought to themeselves:
"Gee this doesnt really fix anything and I Can't imagine why smugglers would want it....why are we doing this again?" !?!?
Nobody at SOE thought to themeselves:
"Hmm...we probably should have tossed this onto TC for a day at least to evaluate what this does to the smugglers we claim to care about now"
Someone suggested that this may have been done to make smuggler a more difficult profession to master. If that is the case ... I have zero faith for our revamp. This does not make smuggler harder to master in any meaningful gameplay. It mearly ADDS mindless and needless tedium and mouse clicking.
....
I've been in this since beta...I'm done with smuggler if this remains the exmaple of your understanding of our issues.
Please say this "fix" is poorly worded and is actually something else...or is being removed.

Wow, go to the smug forums and you'll see this is not the case...now aren't you glad you got on the devs bad side with all that ranting?
