Actully I rather like this idea it satisfies my two greatest qualms: It not being a blatenly know path were everyone knows the N.P.C or the place to obtain ther FSC, and that the devs can regulate the number and flow of Jedi in the system.
Thanks Thunderhart I'm Curious how this would be Implemented.

Afew questions, if you would care to answer them...
1) So do we still get a second slot if we become FS, but not a padwan, or do we even get the second slot if we become a padwan?
2) What about those of us who loveour current character, wouldn't mind them being FS, but would much rather a second slot be a padwan? After all, all our current jedi didn't have to make their current character a jedi to play with one, nor did they have to get lucky enough to be visited by a mysterious stranger and do a bunch of quests a second time.
3) Is this gonna end up cool, or really lame... Again?
Btw, quest journal is a good idea. Depending on the answers I or others get, the whole thing could be a good idea.

This idea is super-sweet. I love it. It reminds me of the Wheel of Time series of books by Robert Jordan. It fits, to me, perfectly with the way the Jedi Order rejected or simply didn't find force sensitives. It is reasonable to me that they would find out through communal knowledge and experimentation what those powers entailed. Just like the women who were rejected from the Aes Sedai order.
I am not sure that I could be happier about this path. This is exactly the type of thing I wanted to hear about. It sounds awesome.

You get a second character slot. It is NOT force sensitive. You can leave your MAIN character as is, and only take the Force Senisitve stuff and never travel beyond that, or make them Jedi. You can take you SECOND character and try and get them to be force sensitive, or leave them as is.

Both ideas sound nice!
Especially the village plot
)
It should be possible to support different playstyles like combat, healing, crafting and entertaining using the village and it's community as storyline.
How about some special cure the healers have to produceand apply tosomebody, or introduce an epidemic and have them fight it, etc...
Or recruit them as helpers for the village medical personel, and require them to heal a certain amount of damage while being within the confines of the village (ie. earn a certain amount of med xp)
Something similar could be set up for entertainers as well...

Do you like the idea of the Village of Aurilia? yes (what planet will it be on?) I think it would be cool if the Village is on another 'planet' i.e. another zone that is not on any of the current planets... but the zone would only be as big as the Village
Do you like the idea of adding a quest journal? yes, I'd like to see this expanded to the rest of the game

Love this idea!
I hope this leads to many similar things through the entire game.

Love the idea about the quest journal. Will this just be for the FS quests or can this be implemented for the entire game. i.e. Will it include all the quests from the planets and theme parks? This I would like to see.
This is the first stage of development. We'd all like to see the quest journal expand in the future
How about you stop catering to the 1% and fix the 99%? Oh wait sorry that's not "Jedi" so our money doesn't count.
Gods you guys have no clue. I really think your re-arraning the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Do I like the Village? Um..yes. However...it just reeks of content. What are you doing to this game? ![]()

Like it, yes...long over due and should have been in retail release for all quests.

both ideas sound good. Especialy the fact that the path is mysterious and unknown

•Do you like the idea of the Village of Aurilia? Maybe
•Do you like the idea of adding a quest journal? Yes
My maybe is based on how this is implemented. The Majority of peoples concerns lie with unlocking FS, which would now I imagine coincide with getting the invitation to the Village.
Assuming the Village is instanced to not neccessarily individuals but only a few people per Village then it would be very cool. Going through it would give a real feel of learning the ways of the Force. Going through it with hundreds of other people, some of them waiting to kill you or spamming then it will be a complete waste of development time. I get the feeling that it will be instanced since you said it was out in the Outer Rim but never mentioned a planet.
Now, my concerns with the "mysterious" path to opening FS slot. The best solution is to make it so that you can tell us exactly what it is and it does not matter that we know. The main component of that would be a timer. A player has to be x number of days old before he can get the invite. Have say, 8 other requirements (my guess is there were 8 holo professions). All holo professions mastered account for 1 less requirement. This would also allow old characters to have already passed the time requirement (say 3-4months?). Make the requirements simple things that people can do at a normal pace but take time. But at least make them known or at least implied.
For example, 1 can be visiting all the POI's, there can be 1 requirement lifted for eacht themepark you do, have 1 or 2 NPC's that give missions, using something from a master elite profession box(ie making a flame thrower could count or using flame cone 2 could do it). Have a good 16-24 different options and as long as someone completes 8 of them within 3 months they get FS. Or maybe even make people do 16 things but make each holo profession count for 2 of them.
