5 Professions per Branch, so 30 profs for all 6 branches. Anyone who has done 30 professions should get all 6 branches. Many have gotten lucky enough to unlock far below that, so this is more than fair. Also for those that haven't hologrinded but did do 5-10 professions they should get a branch or two.

A little background on my character, which may represent the average player. Im looking forward to seeing how this will play out. I have never been interested in hologrinding. So any thoughts of making my character a jedi were shoved aside. Ive been in the game since its intitial release, then left after the first month ( I hated walking everywhere). I cam back in December after mounts and vehicles were added. Then in Feb bought a second account which has become my main toon. Gw'Frankie has since earned all 46 explorer badges, won all three races, did all the theme parks (except for imp) and after many destroyed suits of armor, 6 corvette badges. I have mastered 10 professions, and have been a smuggler for my guilds benefit since the start. Total badge count "85". Nice!! And most important i had fun getting there.

With the release of pub 9, it seemed like getting a jedi might actually take place and i began to get my hopes up. Im glad hologrinding is gone. I never cared for being forced to grind out professions that had no interest for me. But with respect to being a Jedi via quests, now im intruigued. I read some of the early conversion charts and if they hold out to be true, becoming a jedi will be near impossible.

I hope the Devs understand that the genie is out of the bottle. Jedi are everywhere right now before pub 10. Please dont punish the players that would like to wield a lightsaber, but didnt want to spend countless hours grinding out professions. I would like to do the quests and would like to be a jedi, but make it feasible. The time line is destroyed, that happened the first time a jedi appeared in the game. If there was a critical error, it was in setting this game between the 4th and 5th movies. So call this a parallel universe and soothe Lucas Arts concerns. And make getting Jedi challenging but reachable. If nothing else please be sure to post a very detailed explanation about pub 10. Post charts and skill point costs and make sure everyone what this will take to get to jedi so those that think its to much wont try and those that want it, can keep their expectations reasonable.

Swor: Too bad, so sad. You knew what it took to get jedi for months. You didn't have the patience, etc to earn it. Now, you can live with the results of your choice. You had plenty of time to change your mind and start grinding profs again, when you found out that you'd get FS credit towards branches for each mastered prof. You chose not to, so don't whine about it.

so what about me, you guys keep saying 4 holocrons worth more credit, but i did one holo and then was slient....it was merchant and i did profession inbetween since it takes so long, i think i did like 8 profession in between merchant. 19 prof, plus one holo. where's that leave me?!

I seem to remember reading back awhile ago that it was planned to not change those whom unlocked their FSCS prior to patch 10 to have their 2nd new character slot be the FS character, and just not be able to access said new slot between pub 9 and 10, I will go dig up said posting if need be...but I feel that I am being wronged here if I am not judged on the same parameters as anyone else whom has already gotten their Jedi slot via the hologrinding method. I put in the same time, if not more as I had to do more profs due to bad guesswork, why can we not have the new slot we get be the FSCS, or at least be able to chose whom would recieve it. I would at the very least like to be given a full explanation why this is not possible (besides the caveat 'coding makes it not possible' etc) If it is possible, I would like the option...As I am a regular Roleplayer on this game. I think it is a silly thing for my character to suddenly become jedi material because IC'ly he has no love lost for them or to ever becoming one. This was how I made this character's background and outlooks on life in the SW universe. Why can I not make my new alt the jedi contender so I do not have to cmpletely trash my primary character? if this is not coded in somehow, there should be somew CSR ticket process or somethng to have a Rep or Dev do the change manually, IE: if you want to, you get 1 shot at the change, no more. Many who play this game want their mains as the Jedi, I however do not...and believe the option should be there as was stated many months ago to make all hologrinders the 2nd slot the FSCS prior to patch 10. And no, I don't believe I should have to start from scratch on my 2nd slot for jedi-dom if that slot is the one I have chosen to recieve the benefits of my hologrinding efforts.

Any feedback on this from those in the know would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou

The Jedi system was 4 Holocrons and then the hidden elusive Profession.

Those 4 Holocrons should make up the bulk of any reward given. The System wasnt just grind 32 professions though that was possible. You were to do 4 Known Holocrons and then a 5th Random unknown. Math wise thats a very simple 20% per Holocron. Now since the 5th is unknown that means the most a non unlocker gets is 80%. Now many grinded more then 5 professions. any beyond the 4 should be worth xp. People can say what they want but after you did your 4 Professions From holocrons you had like a 3.5% chance to correctly pick the correct profession. Got the 5th wrong? then you had like a 3.8% chance to pick the right one.

The non holo professions shouldnt be worth nothing but also shouldnt be worth more then the Holocron professions

If you only did one Holocron and hit silent that means the other professions you did doing your 1st were your holocrons

I like the idea of what you are doing Devs, just wish something would come out officalliy for those peeps that haven't unlocked yet on thier silent holo prof. I can't ask for to much, so this is good. If a DEV can respond and let us know, that's be great.

Peace to the Rebellion and to the Empire...nay, kill the Empire

We will come out with more info, and it will be fair.

But why not stop the grind right now? Just play! You are going to make it soon enough anyway, and the village is very fun!

HEres whats gonna happen...... I already know this! SOE will cave to those who say "I did blah blah blah professionsI should get credit for ALL of them.", I personaly think its fair that people who did the holocrons professions should get credit. And those that master 20 odd professions after that should NOT get credit for those sense they had no dirrection and it was luck of the draw. I will be the minority in this and THEY WILL, cave to the criers. So I might as well just get ready todo the whole villege senseI stopped on my silent profession(s) and gave up.To awnser your questionthe reason people will NOT stop till the patch goes in, is mostare pritty damned sure that they will get credit for every profession they mastered and they want to master 1 or 2 more in that time!

Please remember. Mastering 4 professions in this game, any 4, can be done in a week or 2. It is not hard, and most people will do this on their own trying to find a profession they like.

Holocron professions were specifically told to you.Holocrons were NOT hard to get. People paid millions in the early days for them, but they were not hard to obtain if you put forth some effort.

Doing these 4 Holocron professions should not weigh any more than doing a non-holocron profession.

If I were making the system, I would put together something on this theory:

32 Professions = Auto-Unlock in the old system. This is fact.

The only "known" way to unlock was to do professions. You could use a holocron to tell you up to 4 or 5 professions. After that, you simply mastered professions until you unlocked. (Could be random percentages each master, could be X silent profs, could be a set number of profs, could be the alignment of the sun and moon on the fifth day you logged in...)

So, if you have done 16 professions, you should get 50% of the boxes filled (24 boxes required, 12 are unlocked and filled....could be full trees, or starter boxes as in being 2222 instead of 0044.)

If you did 24, you are 75% through (18 boxes filled)

If you did 30+, you should be done. This is more work than the average jedi did to grant them a FS char, I don't see any reason to not allow these people to have all 6 trees full.

People didn't grind professions because they wanted to, THAT WAS THE SYSTEM. Moving to a new system should take into account the progress in the old.

People that grinded, DID NOT ruin the game. They played the game. Most grinders have PVP'd, have made cities, have run guilds, have done themeparks, and have run businesses.

People that grinded put forth MUCH MUCH more effort in the old system than a person that simply did 4 holorcons (4 professions can be done in a weekend). The new system should take that into account.

I like what the Dev stated about the unlockers. Im happy for them, Im happy for my friend that did 29 profs and unlocked. Now, he'll get his LS in short order.

I would like people that did ANY amount of professions to be compensated accordingly, with all professions being equal (holo or not). Remember, there have been people that have grinded out 20 professions who joined after Pub 9. These people are going blind.

I would also like to see people with X amount of months subscribed get some sort of bonus. These are the people that make the game what it is, for better or worse.

Effort = Reward. Its the reason loot was implemented to be useful, right? People who put EFFORT into unlocking in the old system, should be REWARDED in the new system. The only ones that are against this are the people that exerted little or no effort.

I view the previous Jedi unlock system as that you had a particular set of professions that you needed to master and the Holocrons provided insight into what those professions were. As a result, the Holocrons were a benefit and the fact that you completed the professions listed by them really shouldn’t have much of an impact on how much holocredit you get now.

The original system was suppose to be an advancement to the Jedi option for those characters that had played the game to its fullest – it was just improperly implemented. To keep the same ideal, “Jedi belongs to those who have played the game”, I think something like the following would be most equitable to all.

For each profession mastered give something like the following force sensitive experience points: for professions 1- 5 (give 50,000 each), professions 6-10 (75,000 each), profs 11-15(100,000 each), profs 16-20 (125,000 each), profs 21-25 (150,000 each), profs 26-31 (200,000 each).

The most any user could receive in this configuration is 3,700,000 fs points. Still short of the 7,450,000 force sensitive points needed, but this is only an issue if the conversion rates remain as is. In addition, there is an opportunity to get additional force sensitive points for those who have made use of the content in the game, say by giving 25,000 force sensitive experience points for every themepark or advanced dungeon / quest completed.

In this approach, those who have mastered a large number of professions are adequately compensated for the work they have done and those who chose to make use of the content and avoid the holo grind are also compensated. In both cases, the total amount of holo credit given shouldn’t be enough to fill all 24 boxes, but if someone mastered 31 professions, visited every POI, completed every themepark and conquered every advance dungeon, they would be pretty close.

The next issue is how quickly they should be able to complete the 6 force sensitive trees required. I think this should be tied to how long the character has been active. For example, if the toon has been around since the beginning, they would get 5 unlocks, ten months - 4, eight months – 2, six months 1. In this way you give rewards for the long-term player by allowing them to complete the trees quicker – provided they have the experience. If they have been around for a year but have mastered only profession and not taken part in the content, well they’ll have the ability to train five of the trees, but they wont have the experience to complete them.
