Thread: Faction Insurance Day Pass: How much?
What a total silly idea. The players provide wonderful ideas to the development team over and over again in posts on the SoE boards and instead of implementing some of them you come up with this kind of nonsense. Talk about a ship without a rudder.
Why do you always have to make a complicated solution for a simple problem. Just drop the 1% decay on insured items altogether already. Take the time you would have wasted coding your silly solution and fix some freakin BUGS.
Armour gets smashed up plentyjust fighting and armour repair tools break armour at an alarming rate already.
That kind of stinks:the more FP you have, the less you have to spend. 500FP is a huge deal to me, but is probably nothing to a top ranking imp with an at-st.

The cost should vary depending on your rank.
My idea is that the base cost should be 500FP for a Private and decrease it by 25 for each promotion.
This will make the Ranks mean something and encourage promotions.
I'm trying to get some math going on how many ranks there are in the game. Basically get it to a point where Colonels can purchase the insurance for free.
There is one thing keeping me out of the GCW and PVP aspects of this game, do you know what that is?
One guess...
DECAY!
If you're going to go through with this retarded "day pass" idea then either make it free for overt players or just get rid of decay at all, because decay is absolutely stupid. Some of us roleplay, and only PvP when we're utterly bored, so why punish us by decaying all the stuff we've worked hard for? I want to go overt, I really do, but what happens to overt players? They're punished by the devs.
My input:
Let overt players do this for free, and covert players cost -/+100FP or a sum credits... Or just get rid of **edit**ing decay. Thanks.
Ture, even without an AT-ST (wich I don't have) 500 FP is nothing for me, I worried for you the casual gamers, so sorry

What if you are a new player to the faction and cannot afford the "Day Pass"? If you run faction missions without the option of buying the day pass you will see get a TEF for PvE making you subject to item decay if killed by PvP/PvE. So... we are back where we stated from. The day pass idea does show effort, I thank you for that.
I am a hardcore PvP and am Overt. Just do away with decay for Overt players and work on the Day pass for covert players.
As far a Pricing:
Credits:1000
FPs: 100? ( I don't like the FP cost idea, if you are killed during pvp you will lose even more points, and trust me you WILL die...alot. This would leave you without the optionto buy a day pass if you lose enough FPs.(If youcharge by FPs).
I hate that 1 overt and 19 covert groups....
Makes faction pets kinda useless
The part that concerns myself is that if insurance is to be purchased with faction points, Imperial aligned aliens are placed at an immediate disadvantage. No matter what "standard price" is agreed, the alien modifiers will double or tripple the cost.
Using general figures from the perspective of a social player, with a character that has reasonable combat skills:
*To earn around 100FPs (solo and ising factional missions), can take about 15/20 mins (from terminal to base destruction).
*Assuming 2 missons are taken and they spawn reasonably close to each other, this could be 25mins work to acquire 200FPs - not taking into account any slip ups (unexpected pve deathblows etc) and using a terminal on a higher level planet, eg dantooine.
If the FP cost for insurance is set at 70FP, that means a x3 alien modified alien will have to spend 30minutes earning faction points, before they can PVP on an equal footing.
If a person is limited to an evening gaming session of 2 hours, and wishes to spend that time in pvp, 1/4 of their time will be spent acquiring the required number of faction points. Not to mention waiting for shuttles, finding opponents etc.
My apologies if any of this has been said before, but I couldn't wade through 12 pages of posts that all seemed to say the same thing.
It should cost as much as the devs spent thinking the plan up.
1 credit.
And thats because I gave them credit.
Come up with other money sinks, boneheads.. integral part of my .
TH i hate to say this bro but the perk is a dumb idea just tell the dev to take it out or this game will be nothig more then an waste of my money when it fails (and at the rate they are going its gonna happen soon)
every mag said this game could be the best
could be but what o what is holding it back
