Starrunner youare making yourself look like a moron- READ THE IN TESTING FORUM!!

It explains how it will work

LOOK:

Imps still have to level up using loads of hard earned FP to escape scans, if the person scanning them is a higher rank then they still get scanned

THERE IS NEVER ANYTHING IN THE LOCKED CONTAINERS I HAVE OPENED OVER SIXTY AND FOUND ONE +1 CLOTHING ATTACHMENT!!!!!! (oooh and a bunch of 1 units and some rings and some crap clothes and other rubbish stuff, including 3 nested empty locked containers) If you had any brain you would notice that:

AFAIK YOU CAN'T PUT THINGS INTO LOCKED CONTAINERS. how are they going to replace this mythical crystal with 1 unit of ore?

How are smugglers going to fleece people? read some economics! If someone wants to charge you to much for being in the group to smuggle then find someone else.

Can you imagine a private walking up to a Colonel and asking what it is there pockets?? NO! it would be stupid, the colonel would /slap the private and tell him to bloody salute next time. OOOOH that's what is happening

Han escorts Luke etc and persuades border guards/troopers that they are kosher, this is how the devs have seen it and thus Han and Luke were in A GROUP, han helped them cos THEY WERE IN A GROUP, he did not put them in R2D2's storage compartment!

/target Starrunner;/laugh;/laugh;/slap

Stop winging, if you hate the game so much go play space invaders, at least it won't change, bringing new and exciting content to the arena, something you clearly have a problem with.

Just because you can't imagine another skill set that would beat smuggler/commando that doesn't mean they are not there.

the only good point you made was that it SHOULD be hard for rebels, so what's all the other crap about???

PLEASE PEOPLE, STOP WHINING IF THEY LISTENED TO EVERY ONE OF YOU KIDS THE GAME WOULD BE STARWARS CHESS!!!!!

Ostracized, get a grip - it's not 100% anyway

Imps can't help those people in Groups - they will need a smuggler, so that is the bonus

SKILL POINTS DO MATTER MORE, this is the only thing FP gives us impsbesides buying pointless uniforms and pointless pets.

BTW you'd be much better off when trying to take the moral high ground if you could spell or even took the time to spell check.

SORRY , WHOTF IS SAYING IT BEING EARLY IS BAD!!! YOU ARRANGE YOUR LIFE AROUND A VIDEO GAME!!?!? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Come now honestly how can you be so upset about the fact that a HIGH ranking Imperial officer could pass security scans. If you are in the real Military you just hope that someone Capt, Major, Lt. Colonel, Colonel whatever doesn't stop to talk to you. Because if these people are talking to you, then you are either in trouble, or they want something. (I am in the Army I know how it works). So when this patrol walks up to Colonel so and so what is he going to say... Open your bags sir... NOW. I don't think so. He will be like /salute. "First to battle Sir!" and the Colonel will respond "Glory to the Empire."

As for Rebels getting the shaft, at this time period the EMPIRE has taken over most if not everything, they have massive fleets as where the rebels are struggling on backwater planets, dealing small blows to thier evil foes the Imperial Army. Look at it in terms of the game, not what you would like to see. I mean I would like to see Jedi XP gained faster, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Please consider the Universe we are playing in. Think outside the box, smugglers still have the slicing ability. Who else can do this? No one, if you guys want to complain about something for smuggling, please complain about the randomness of slices where I as a master smuggler using high quality resource made components can slice a weapon for 12% speed. I should have a minimum that is set at an acceptable level for all the slicing I have done. If you want to complain about something, complain that spices still can't be experimented on even though they say "we are working on that issue." If you REALLY want to complain ask them why there isn't a /buyfaction command at the recruiters... I mean obviously has any DEV ever bought 2 million credits worth of FP's? If a player city wants a new base, and they have the credits to buy it, why should the smuggler suffer through clicking countless number of times only to be able to transfer 200 fp at a time. Seriously get real? Or at least make it so the conversation menu macro /ui action conversationsomethingor other (if you want my faction buy macro mail me it works with just two of your clicks) can go above conversation selection 3. Let's focus on something more important than a few players out of the populace (high ranking imperials) being able to pass a faction scan and make it so smugglers have something better to offer, and with more variety to distinguish the dedicated smugglers.

As for changes to the jedi quest system for those of you that asked, those have not put live yet. Phase 6 is the the first set of changes to the Jedi system addressing perma-death and a few more issues.

I hope that I haven't pissed everyone off, but I have been a smuggler and even though I dropped the profession recently I still know how you feel about these issues. I may not be active among the smuggler boards, but that is because I was too busy smuggling and enjoying it.

Err...small correction there. Atrocities aside, German soldiers WERE subject to German law at all times. I would have to ask an expert in the local war museum what the actual penalties would be for gun running and drug smuggling, but I think they may have been QUITE lethal for the one caught doing it. That sort of thing tends to be bad for morale and discipline, and ALL armies hate that.

I actually grew up in places the nazi's shot to rubble, and with the stories of the survivors. And by the way: even if the Nazi party was evil, don't make the stupid mistake to think all soldiers were. I also heard stories of weeping 17-year old German draftees, quartered in with Dutch families, kids who only wanted to go home and see an end to the madness.

I'm not a smuggler, but here's my position on the Master Smuggler 95% thing as opposed to Imperial officers getting away with not being scanned...

As an MCH, I still fail quite a bit when trying to tame creatures. My maskscent drops as well. What's my point? Smugglers can't get away with it 100% of the time because if they could then there would be no need for scans at all. Whine: "But the Imps have total immunity!" Only the high ranking officers. In what military is this not the case? Any high ranking officer can cover his own hide with his rank, it happens all the time in the military. A superior officer is not to be questioned, no matter if you see some suspicious powder dripping from a package he's holding. So, I see where the devs are coming from in making superior officers immune to scan. It's COMMON SENSE. Smugglers get caught because they're going against the law, therefore there has to be some percentage of failure. I'm sorry, but I can't agree at all with the whole Smuggler complaint that Imps get their skills without the skill point investment. Smugglers can do much more than a superior Imp can Smuggler-wise, so I see the argument as a moot point and just a reason to whine.

As far as contraband is concerned, I could care less about drugs. In fact, I hope you call get caught repeatedly. It's my opinion that drugs and buffs ruin the fun of PVP. Most people are already buff junkies. It makes me sick. I prefer to use my character's natural abilities, not pump myself up on buffs and drugs. To me it's a cheap way of playing the game.

Yeah, I am a smuggler and I feel for the smuggler community in a lot of ways our profession consists of mainly pistol and crafting and there should be more. However, I am not pissed off about the patch lets face it, in any society whether democratic or authoritarian, so long as you are in "The Winning Team", you are going to get away with a lot of things others wont be able to get away with. YeahI know it sucks, but nothing that the devs have implemented in this patch truly stretches away from that concept. Imperials used contraband, just like rebels did, however if you are on "the winning side" you are going have certain advantages like suffering a minimal loss for your actions, than if you would be part of the rebellion. So, in that sense, I see the patch as realistic, my problem with smuggler is the fact that we need our own missions terminals and more added content, but that I ll reserve for the Smuggler forums.

Sorry, though I agree smuggler needs a big revamp, this whole imperial advantage is an accurate portrayal of what happens in any society when your guys are on the winning side. As a smuggler this doesnt bother me at all.

The release notes on the web site are very hard to read. Black on a dark blue-grey background is not a good choice for readability.

I just thought, all those people that still think it's tomorrow, who logged off in the cantinas/cities with their sliced armor and weapons.

ouch.
