Great that it's being reworked, but I'm just wondering why all the interesting dynamic stuff seems to be on tatooine. There's this quest, Radnom sandcrawler spawns with tusken attacks, the random slave who runs from the stormtroopers to give you a disk (any word on what that is?), etc. Why put everything on tatooine?

Those have been around forever.... While Naboo was the 'first' planet they developed from the stanpoint of static content like the design of cities, Tatooine seems to have more dynamic content. The Hero's quest (which likely involved the random slave as one of those items) has been there since BETA. This isn't something new....

TH

as many have said........ this is one of the coolest quests in the game (besides the fact that it's broken)
please dont throw out the original design of the quest......... particularly the dynamic nature of it........ it'd be nice to keep the same basic structure, and just flesh it out some
imho

thanks

ThunderHeart, what will happen if the new Spawns for them are in, near or at the same spot as a Player City or Player City Building?

The current waypoint spots and areas where these were, half of the badge locations have/had player cities near them on Scylla - so it was near IMPOSSIBLE to find them once Player Cities when live.

Not to mention having to kill dozens upon dozens of MOBS around the area to try and spawn the Badge Locations.

will this be yet another quest aimed at the grunts

Ive only recently returned so if there are major quest that are non-grunt (near adv master combat classes) I have yet to see them and would apreciate any pointing to some.

but it seems to me that all the major quest lines neglect the non-combat players like entertainers, medics, artisans that dont have a combat class maxed outbut more likely only have 3-4 boxes in the base combat tree thus making them marginal fighters unable to do the quests.

I would like to see two things

(1) some quests lines either specificly aimed at non-combat classes or be built with paths that allow certain classes a different route to the goal for instance an artisan might do a sub quest for a code that allows passage to by pass some guards.

(2) that the quest giver gives information as to the possible difficulty of a given quest to avoid fustrating false starts and "dead" ends

you can fake a screenshot of yourself by modifying the string files to override so you can change the name of any badge you have. it only shows up to you, but if you screenshot it, then you can show it off to everyone

I meant Honor..sorry..NOT hero..as far as I know....noone has that...sorry..sorry..!!!

Ill post a link asap

Because Tatooine is a cool, sandy planet....

To Thunder Heart:

1. Thank you for fixing this quest.

2. If we have already completed a quest in this series, Altruism for example, will it still count in the new revamp?

3. Concerning Badges: I just started playing agian after a four month hiatus. When I left, the badge system was something special. Meaning, if I person had acquired a badge it was an accomplishment. The location badge system is great. HOWEVER.... it definitely makes looking at the BIO of another player uninteresting. Thus, the whole badge system becomesvery non-special. It is not hard to take a shuttle to Deja Peak and get a badge.

My suggestion is to keep the location badges, but don't have them show up on the bio screen when examining another player. INSTEAD have the exploration badge show up. So if someone is a novice or master or whatever level of explorer, that will show up on the bio. They will still keep the badge and be able to see it on their own bio, but another person looking at the Bio will only see the explorer badge. That way it makes the badges interesting again. Meaning that a badge actually represents an acomplishment instead of a shuttle trip

Fixing broken quests , what a novel concept. Want to try Borvo while you are at it ?

Haden Blackman: Yeah, all the guys who are happy with everything are playing the game. They aren't spending their time sending you guys letters or posting on the forums.

If you give me about five minutes, I can take a screenshot of my character screen and edit it in Photoshop to say Mark of Honor. If you give me about 15 minutes, I can probably give myself all of the badges and call it done. I say that because I can tell you from personal experience that the Mark of Honor has never worked. I've encountered this spawn enough times to (quite literally) have tried every possible conversation path, and it has always been bugged. The 4th wall of this spawn never actually shows up on screen, and that is (probably) what causes the spawn to not work. If you can get this person who "made" this screenshot to stop by and post how theycompleted the spawn,I would be slightly more inclined to believe it...but after trying this spawn many, many times, experience tells me that screenshot is a hoax.

One other thing I'd like to say: I'm very glad that this quest is getting fixed...but I'm slightly offended by the wording the Devs are using with regard to why this quest is being fixed:

"...this quest was difficult to complete. Too difficult in fact..."

This wording implies that the players do not have what it takes to complete the quest. Hogwash! Isn't it true that this quest was not completed because it was broken (Honor didn't spawn correctly and Courage didn't spawn at all)? I'm offended that the Devs are placing the blame on the ability of the player base, and not on an error in design. The reason I take this personally is because I spent nearly two months trying to complete this quest last fall, but couldn't because the quest was bugged.

TH,

I am very grateful that these quests are being reworked. I remember fondly the days spent looking frustratedly all over Tatooine for the Intellect and Altruism badges (and not so fondlythose days spent hunting the non-existent ones). Still today, they are the only badges I'm really proud to have. I wanted to respond because when I read that "the adventure has new elements that must be completed to gain the five badges", I became a little concerned. Does this mean that the badges I currently have will disappear? Or does it mean that I will have to reacquire both badges? I guess I have a problem with having to get them all over again due to the time involved and the strong sense of accomplishment that will be destroyed if the new method isn't as challenging as the original. Can it not be designed to use the badges we already have? Can't the new method simply award the same badge? This was one of the very best things this game had to it's credit despite it's being bugged and I guess the pessimist in me is worried. I realize this is still a long way out and I'm probably overreacting but I'really appreciate more solid info.

Thanks and keep up the good work,
