The Hero of Tatooine quest was added to the game before launch and was driven primarily by dynamic spawns using the POI system. As it turned out, due to the POI system behavior, this quest was difficult to complete. Too difficult in fact. Even still, this quest was a popular quest that players wanted to experience, so in Publish 9, the adventure known by players as "The Hermit's Quest" will be completely revamped. If you've played the quest before, don't be lulled into a sense of "I've done this before" because the adventure has new elements that must be completed to gain the five badges: Mark of Altruism, Mark of Intellect, Mark of Courage, Mark of Honor and the Mark of the Hero.

Will this quest be part of the new jedi system unlock, or will that be something different?

OoOooO I can't wait till this gets fixed! I'm probably more excited about this than the Jedi revamp!

....

erm, can't believe I just said that...ok, but still...i'm pretty damn excited about the Hermits quests!

I'm curious about the spawn rate/area of spawns. Will the rate be upped? And will the places they are *supposed* to spawn stay the same?

Difficult to complete, did anyone ever complete it? Are you sure it was difficult or maybe more accurate bugged since launch. To my knowledge only 2 badges were ever completed on live servers.

Also will players badges be reset for this, or can they continue in line with the new quests. and also do they get any special benefit from having wasted soooo much time on something thats been broken for so long?

3 were completed on tempest by someone that found 2 back to back spawns of the hero quest...

Intellect was easiest

Altruism was very difficult (to find)

Hero (1 confirmed badge across all servers) ..I didnt believe the guy at first and had him post a screen shot..he got it..

I hope now that they are going to be fixed, some thought goes into how the quests are going to spawn. Now that player citys are on top of many of the spawning areas, I could easily see some of these quest getting bugged because they are spawning inside building. I would like to see these quest almost like a theme park that randomly spawns in one area they stays there the whole day. The next day it will show up some place else. This way we dont have camp areas and steal spawns.

Thank you TH. I am sooo excited about these quests. That theyt are all on Tatooine (my home planet) makes it even sweeter.

you can fake a screenshot of yourself by modifying the string files to override so you can change the name of any badge you have. it only shows up to you, but if you screenshot it, then you can show it off to everyone

The Hero's Mark requires the other 4 badges first, not likely he got it.

Great that it's being reworked, but I'm just wondering why all the interesting dynamic stuff seems to be on tatooine. There's this quest, Radnom sandcrawler spawns with tusken attacks, the random slave who runs from the stormtroopers to give you a disk (any word on what that is?), etc. Why put everything on tatooine?

I'd like to add that this quest was most popular back when badges were something to be proud of. Now any noob can get a load of badges within an hour of character creation. We can even receive a badge simply for getting other badges!

I like the POI tab, but perhaps the POI badges should be reevaluated. Then we can once again be proud to display our badges that we earned.
