Thread: Publish 6 Feedback: Imperial Crackdown

Chef barrels do not work. This bug was reported weeks ago and is still bugged. You know, better late than wrong. When is this being hot fix?
The vehicle customization works great and is very cool.
The crackdown is not very much of a crackdown. All attackable troopers were dead by the time I got on this evening and the rebels are still running amuck. The STs are hardly a challenge for the majority of them and the STs are nothing but a faction farm. Not to mention the 3 cities you chose are a joke for anyone actually going to on purpose most of the time. All in all only the probot scans that may catch a single rebel in the open and hit him with 10 STs seems to be working great but otherwise rebels are laughing at the crackdown. I was hoping for more of a feelig of fear and sneakiness to the rebel side but it has not happened. The rebel side should be more fun and much more duck and cover and it is still simply run and gun.

Th this is cool and all but like we've said, we're not worried about what this patch will mean now, but what it'll mean to Smuggler's FUTURE (read: revamp and beyond) because this seems like good groundwork for you guys to build off of to give us smuggling. PLEASE TELL US that whatever you're planning WON'T be affected by the fact that Imperials are and will be Immune to all contraband scans now and in the future. Because if they are whatever we get with the Smuggler's revamp will be TRUMPED by that. We've been very patient about this, but "Wait and see" indicates that you don't understand our concerns, as "Playing and find out" won't tell us anything until much further down the line. ALL we want right now is for you to say, "We promise this patch will NOT impugn on your later abillity to smuggle." That's all.
If you listen to Audio Organa up there, the proper response to this would be, "Gee, must be tough to be a smuggler. AS IT SHOULD BE." Of course, that completely ignores the fundamental PROBLEMS with the patch, but no one ever accused most people of being perceptive enough to catch some things.
I'm not a smuggler, but I feel for the smugglers as well with this last patch. At least I can see where they're coming from and don't climb on my hobby horse like most of the Imp players here. A 3 year old in a Stormtrooper helmet looks stupid.

I think the proper response here is that most of them DON'T. 9/10 of them act like they were born in a barn and have never had a day of schooling in their lives. It's sad to see someone who might possibly be in his 30s run around like a 12 year old who's missed his ritalin and who grew up with Andrew Dice Clay as the prime form of entertainment.
what scans?
on gorath i was not scanned in any of the cities that were supposed to be conducting scans. actually, there was 0 imperial presence. the base by kor vella is empty. kaadara had 1 RSF security officer, and mos espa had 1 stormtrooper who did not scan me.
i have seen no probots.
i'm assuming it's broken.
What crackdown? On Flurry I went to the 3 imp cities with not an NPC imp in site. In the Coronet cantina any STs that spawned were dead in less than a minute. Rebel players were dominating everywhere. I was pretty dissapointed. Being a rebel, I expected a much more agressive imperial presence, but the rebel players appear to be cracking down on the imps. In addition, I was very unhappy about not being able to de-buff. The patch notes appeared to me to suggest the capability was in the patch.
Overall dissapointed so far!
Devs: Stop NPC Spam - It's Unnecessary
I have sent the following Private Message to the game developers in hopes that I can be heard on behalf of those who have talked to me about this issue:
Greetings!
I have several friends who play on the Kettemoor server who have informed me that they will not be playing for a while due to the recent changes. They have no problems with the scans; it's the vocalizations. The NPCs that come into cantinas are spamming the chat with their speech.
This would be tolerable if it was once in a while, but as they are making scans every 4 - 7 minutes, it becomes rather like greifers, except we cannot /addignore the NPC Stormtroopers when we don't want to listen to them.
I am a mayor in a player city and several of the citizens have expressed this concern to me and stated they will be avoiding NPC cities because of this. The problem is, a lot of good social interaction occurs in NPC cities and we're being left out now because we're being forced to choose between listening to spam and our sanity.
I'd like to pose the following recommendations to fix this problem:
A) Reduce the frequency of cantina scans to once every 20 minutes or so to give time for players to carry on conversations
B) Make it possible for players to /addignore or some alternative thing to quiet the Stormtroopers for those who choose not to listen to their spam
C) Reduce the amount of vocalizations the Stormtroopers make to just an announcement of their presence, "Prepare for an Imperial Scan" and "There's nothing here, move along" or something of that sort.
I realize this is a minor issue in comparison to some bugs, but it is greatly detrimental to the overall atmosphere of the game and hampers any conversations between players in NPC city cantinas. I realize that some vocalization and the Imperial presence is conducive to creating a more Imperial and Star Wars atmosphere, but there comes a point where it is too much, and I believe, as do others, that point was crossed.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Derianadai Hirunmil
