Possible bug?
While hunting the "Pirate Leader" for one of the Hero badges yesterday (8/31), I found him twice, but both times he spawned we fought and he died. His pirate comrades were not with him.
Either this was not the "Priate Leader" I was looking for, or he wasn't playing along
Thanks
This is not the "Pirate Leader" you are looking for....
Sorry - couldn't resist...
There are pirate leader NPCs all over tatooine - I found them frustrating also when hunting for the Hero-Badge related one...
If he doesn't have 2 cronies with him - don't waste your time and...

I think overall this was a great patch...one gripe though. As a smuggler, I have lots of things to carry around: clamps, laser knives, WuK's, AuK's...I keep all these neatly stowed in a backpack labeled: "Slicing Supplies." I used to be able to slice whatever I wanted, leaving the crates of these items in my backpack.
Now I have to go into the backpack, put what I want in the main inventory, get it out of the crate, then slice. That's a pain. I don't know if you're considering the old way a bug, or whatever...but it was so much simpler. But please change it back so I can slice without taking stuff out of crates or my container.
Everything else about the patch I really like...I LOVE the quality being displayed for resources and being able to put your vehicle on a hotkey...that's Awesome...great job
Thanks

Not sure on other servers but on eclipse Mos Eisley is missing from the map along with all its waypoints etc (/find finds stuff in other closest NPC City)
Vehicles, Droids and Pets now take two clicks to call pretty much everytime, including from datapad
(Incidentally I don't understand why i can't call Pets and Droids from toolbar as well as Vehicles, only winge)
The default icon when hovering mouse over vehicles in datapad or toolbar seems to change with no rhyme or reason, sometimes is red sometimes green, doesn't seem to matter if I am outside, in middle of nowhere or in building.
I can take my bike out in certain player buildings from the toolbar, it appears for a second then falls to theground under the building's floor
Good job all round, especially the warping bug!!!
Though when I store my bike whilst travelling I run for a little while at the same speed as my bike, not a big problem i guess but i just imagined people finding some kind of exploit in there, somewhere.

I hate to burst your bubble, but spending hours at the keyboard should not be considerd tough. Yeah, it took along time to grind all those professions. I never did it. Not because I wanted to protect the integrety of anything, but because I heard that there was a new quest based system comming out that I would be able to use to become a Jedi. I enjoy roleplaying. This is a roleplaying game. I wanted to roleplay becomming a Jedi. You wanted to become a Jedi for some other reason. Great. When the devs announced that they were changing the system to eliminate hologrinding and asked all the players to "just play the game" I did. Now Im being punished and left out in the dark again. Thanks. You say its offensive to paint hologrinders in a negative light? Well guess what buddy, the devs did that for us. Thats why they changed the system. They came straight out and said that hologrinders were ruining their game. Thats right son. They were talking about you. They changed the system because of people just like you. There is nothing you can say to dispute that fact. Why? Pub 10 is why! Get used to being the bad guy. Im insulted at the fact that you cant seem to understand what you and people like you have done to this game. I understand that you were just "Playing the system the devs put in place." Well, the devs acknowledged that the system was wrong and changed it. Now you need to admit that same fact and stop whinning about being treated negatively. You got your unlock. Be happy! All I want is my fair chance. I did what was asked of me and now what? More waiting!! Great!!
You'll get your fair chance... After me. Which is fair.
As for grinders ruining the game, I think you're a bit confused... The developers created this system, not the grinders. It's what they intended. The result was not planned for however. They didn't plan ahead quite far enough to foresee the negative impact it would have on the actual RPG aspect of the game. I admit it ruined much of the gameplay.
Spending hours in front of a keyboard IS tough... That's why you didn't do it and that's why there are so few who did. You're weak and want to hide it based on principal. That's, in itself is weak, not to mention lame... You are right about one thing though. It's time I get over those of you who paint grinders in a nagitive light. I should just realize they're all jealous and the anger they express isn't towards me personally, it's an externalization of the anger they feel towards themselves for not putting in the time so they could actually be first in line for the quests. Good luck on your wait... I hear it's gonna be a long while for folks like you... hehe... rofl...
Wow, talk about a constructive post

Open Discussion huh? What are we discussing? How screwed we all got? Thats all this post is. No one is responding to our issues they are just posting even more threads about giving them feedback. I believe you have enough feedback right now. We are not seeing the old man because once again Sony lied to us. Every patch equals even more lies. Stop messing with the people that pay your salaries. Let us have what you promised: an equal chance to get Jedi. Oh and one other thing. Why do power gamers get all the benefits in thisgame? Dont they pay the same amount of money per month as the casual gamer? Unless you make them pay more let everyone have their chance at the village. Dont make us wait in groups that we dont even know we are in. No one has a clue when the old man will come or when their group will be up to go to the village. In short STOP LYING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, power gamers pay more. they generally have more accounts. So, since I'm paying twice as much as you, I'd like you to stop bitching. This is a feedback thread - not a "I like to hear myself **edit** thread."

**UPDATE AUGUST 13th, 2004 from Stratics Chat Log**
[18:47] *Jospre* Why do Smugglers get no love. Currently on test a stealth Nerf went in that prevents WUK's, AUK's, PLK's, MolClamps, etc. from pulling auto from crates. What was the reasoning for this move as it now really slows down the slicing process expecially for large orders.
[18:48] The autopulling from crates was the result of a change to a different part of the system. I have support from the team to change it back. its just a matter of time now. Sorry for the inconvenience and yes we do love smugglers
I believe, sir, that your pants are on fire.

All I can say is Thank The Emporer! I am glad that all of you are having trouble getting the Old man to show up beacuse this game will really go to hell (I know it isn't perfect now) when it is full of Jedi. If I want to play a game that is full of Jedi I will go play Jedi Knight or Jedi Acadamy. I hope they keep it so that becoming a Jedi is a major pain in the a**. Besides if you really want to becaome a Jedi you should probably learn patiance. I hear that might be something that is important for a Jedi anyway and we have one whiney cry baby Jedi already and its sad that he is the one that is gonna save us all. So basicly what I am saying is stop your bitching and wait.

Many cities don't seem to appear... and I've noticed on a couple planets that it's cities in the SE corner of the map, such as Agro on Dantoine. Coincidence?

Ok here goes...I did all my holo prof...completed 11 prof before patch 10 came out.../check and it says I have an inner glow and that the force is with me. I assume I did all the requirements needed before patch 10 since I have over 70 badges. I am very confused on when the old man should visit me. There are different groups and I have no clue which group I am in. Basically I am curiuos...at what point should I submit a ticket if the old man doesn't visit me. I know about the 1-3 days...so that's fine and I can understand that. Any ideas? Thanks On a side note if I read everything right about the grp system I am in the 1 prof left grp which is automatic...I did the 4 holoprof and was on my silent...so I am assuming I am in the auto grp. I have not been near a npc or player city for the past 2 days...mostly 1km away. Just doing what I regularly do...hunting. Thanks for any help.

I'm gonna try and clear a few things up. I have followed the glowy guide from the TC forums and I was glowy today when I logged on having mastered just ONE profession with this character. So here we go:
To glow you need:
1 profession badge
5 content badges
3 Jedi POIs
5 hard POIs
5 (?) easy POIs
Profession badge is self explanatory, can be basic or elite. Content includes theme parks, both Warren badges and the Corvette badges. Jedi POIs are temple on Dant, Exar Kunon Yavin and Bens hut on Tat. Hard POIs are Krayt skeleton, Krayt graveyard, Pool under Fort Tusken, both Sarlaacs. Easy POIs are every other POI in the game.
Get that and I guarantee you glow...
(I have 26 badges exactly including ones that say "got 5 badges" "10 exploration badges" etc)
And as for Holo-credit:
Holo-credit has NOTHING to do with Force Status. You can have done all 32 but without those badges you will NOT be glowy. However you can still be visited by the Old Man apparantly just you have to wait longer the fewer you did. Holo-credit comes into play when you get into Aurillia. The more Holos you did the more trees get unlocked automatically although you will still have to grind the exp to buy the boxes. I don't think that the non-holo professions you did count, so if you have done 28 it doesn't mean you get more boxes than someone who has done 15, it's just luck.
I hope that clears some things up. Of course this is just what I have gathered from reading various guides and have proved in part by following the top guide and becoming Glowy in 2 days. And that was just because I was too lazy to do it in one...
Thanks for the clarity, rather than the flames
