Thread: Publish 10 Feedback, “The Jedi Trials”: Live Issues and Open Discussion
It's the forcerun damage reduction that I have a problem with. As it stands now, when a jedi uses forcerun2 or 3 they do almost NO damage. They can't even kill a baz nitch. And this lasts for 2 mins. If you guys think that you need to add it where they cannot do damage when they use these the for Pete's sake give us an /endforcerun command! I BEG you!!!! 2 mins is a LONG time when you are in battle! We need to be able to turn it off
:smileysurprised
MG, you are whining about force run. Jedi rule the damn galaxy atm and can take down multiple players of multiple clases in PVP and you are whining cause when you turn yellow and run you can not do damage for 2 min. Get over it. I wish they would bring back permadeath, impose huge xp damage, TEFs for using a lightsaber in publicand put even more restrictions on Jedi since they are out of control. Grow up and face the fact that Jedi need to be controlled.![]()

Ok here goes...I did all my holo prof...completed 11 prof before patch 10 came out.../check and it says I have an inner glow and that the force is with me. I assume I did all the requirements needed before patch 10 since I have over 70 badges. I am very confused on when the old man should visit me. There are different groups and I have no clue which group I am in. Basically I am curiuos...at what point should I submit a ticket if the old man doesn't visit me. I know about the 1-3 days...so that's fine and I can understand that. Any ideas? Thanks On a side note if I read everything right about the grp system I am in the 1 prof left grp which is automatic...I did the 4 holoprof and was on my silent...so I am assuming I am in the auto grp. I have not been near a npc or player city for the past 2 days...mostly 1km away. Just doing what I regularly do...hunting. Thanks for any help.Message Edited by Morty on 09-01-2004 09:30 AM
Unfortunately you didn't see the post where ThunderHeart admitted that SOE changed the silent holocron system from 4 + 1 silent to 4 + 4 silent. In other words, you probably have 4 professions left to go. Or at best, 3. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
You'll get your fair chance... After me. Which is fair.
As for grinders ruining the game, I think you're a bit confused... The developers created this system, not the grinders. It's what they intended. The result was not planned for however. They didn't plan ahead quite far enough to foresee the negative impact it would have on the actual RPG aspect of the game. I admit it ruined much of the gameplay.
Spending hours in front of a keyboard IS tough... That's why you didn't do it and that's why there are so few who did. You're weak and want to hide it based on principal. That's, in itself is weak, not to mention lame... You are right about one thing though. It's time I get over those of you who paint grinders in a nagitive light. I should just realize they're all jealous and the anger they express isn't towards me personally, it's an externalization of the anger they feel towards themselves for not putting in the time so they could actually be first in line for the quests. Good luck on your wait... I hear it's gonna be a long while for folks like you... hehe... rofl...
We go to the head of the line because we unlocked our force sensitive character. We did this pre 10. You did not unlock your fs before pub 10 . You were rewarded for all your casual game play, as you should be, and given the glowy message. Now that is basically your unlock so to speak. So it only makes sence that someone who unlocked before you get to go before you now. And I am getting so sick of all you people that for whatever reason didnt grind talk down abpout those that did. Those were the rules you chose not to do what was required. I mastered 29 profession and the only ones I was afk for was the entertainer ones so I am sick of hearing the non grinders say that we grinders were afk the whole time and you were not so you deserve more.

So, I'm curious:
- Been playing the game for over a year now.
- Attained Master in at least 2 professions pre-"profession badge"
- Before Christmas, played my tail off attempting to discover how to open the FSCS.
- After Christmas, I reluctantly destroyed my character by joining in the hologrind craze. While I didn't hologrind all 32 professions, I did get to my silent holo (long before the limit was raised from 5 to 8), and went through a dozen professions. It took forever, because I avoided the use of macros and tried to play my way through my professions. I stopped grinding becase, as we were all told, there would now be a quest-based, RPG-style method of attaining a Jedi character.
- Attained over 80 badges, including 2 Corvette badges, the Rebel, Jabba, and Nym theme park badges, 2 of the three story arc badges (I completed the story arc, but missed the first badge), both Warren badges, all 45 POIs, etc.
- I'm "glowy", as the parlance goes in-game (i.e., "You feel an inner glow. The Force is with you.")
And now, here I stand about 1700m south of Mos Entha, attempting to get a random NPC to visit me, not knowing if I'm wasting hours of online time standing in one spot, hoping that after a year of play I'll be rewarded.
So, why is it that roleplayers such as I are being penalized once again while those who ran AFK macros and played the game mechanics, rather than the game, over the last few months to grind all 32 professions suddenly go to the head of the line? Do you know how frustrating it is to listen to someone who spent three months "playing" (I use the term loosely, as grinding 32 professions in three months isn't "playing", it's just exercising a user interface) complain because they unlocked, but they haven't yet been visited today? At least the hologrinder is "guaranteed" a visit. As far as I know, I could be visited before I finish typing this sentence, or before the next server reset, or before the end of the week, or before the next Ice Age. I have no clue what "group" I'm in, when I'm going to be "allowed" to seek the Force, or even if it's friggin' worth it!
Why, oh why, did you once again cater to the short-attention-span crowd? Did you figure that "hey, if they haven't quit by now, they'll never quit?"

I love how you people who were not capable of achieving jedi in the old system always refer to those of us who did, as AFK macroers. As if it diminishes what we accomplished. As "EASY" as you make it sound to AFK Macro, there are still plenty, in fact, at least half, of the professions that can not be aided by AFK macros. The scout professions, Scout, Ranger, Squad Leader, Bounty Hunter, Bio Engineer, Creature Handler. The combat professions Commando, Marksman, Rifleman, Carbineer, Pistoleer, Smuggler, Brawler, Pikeman, Fencer, Swordsman, Teras Kasi. That's about 17 professions out of 32. If it was so "EASY" to AFK macro, then why didn't you do it? Don't come back with "I wanted to preserve the integrity of the game" crap... Also, I would put money down on the fact that most, if not all, artisans, doctors, entertainers out there who didn't grind Jedi, still used AFK macros to Master their profession. I'm sure you did as well... So, let's drop the spoiled, "I'm entitled" act and deal with the fact that you didn't grind jedi because you were obviously not interested in doing what it took. I respect your decision not to grind out jedi but don't come back asking for something that you're not worthy of.
I'm a post 9 unlocker. Grinding 31 professions was NOT easy. I figure it took me around 1600 hours(that's a conservative estimate) of AT KEYBOARD PLAY, and probably another 300 AFK night time hours. 1600 hours... Perhaps you put in that much time as well but I tell you what, I don't consider that easy. It's been a 8 month long obsession. But guess what? I had fun doing it. There were a few professions that I absolutely HATED grinding. Musician and Dancer almost made me quit the grind. Also, during that time, I generally kept each profession for a while. I really liked smuggler so I kept it for over a month, sold about 130million worth of faction and sliced armor and weapons in the starport. Had my own line of Muon and Pixie etc... I made colonel in the imperial ranks and earned enough faction for an AT-ST, ST armor, faction furniture etc... I accomplished 104 badges before it was "cool" or required to do so by this latest patch. I also had to fund myself so I learned how to keep a bank account all while constantly spending during the grind. Each combat profession cost me about 2 million(armor, weapons, buffs, food). Each artisan profession cost about 2 million as well(for resources, factories, etc...). Probably near 40 million all told. Last but not least, I made time to play with my guild doing things like Krayt hunts, Corvette runs, harvest parties, PVP, etc...
So, your attempt to paint grinders in a negative light is offensive to me. I wanted to be a jedi. I was told what it would take to become Jedi. I decided I would go for it, and I made it, (barely). You, and those like you, on the other hand, did not. That was your choice. Incidentaly, I was on last night for 6.5 hours after work, waiting for the "old man". Guess what? He didn't show. You don't see me biatching or whining. I'll try again tonight to see what happens. Perhaps one thing I've learned from all my grinding is a little patience... You could use some of that... It's not a race, it's a game... Enjoy it...

Fair chance, is that if you met the requirements for a visit you get the visit. I agree with the person you are arguing with. I played the game the way it was meant to be played and I am getting shafted because of peole like you who exploited it thinking you would get instant Jedi when Pub 10 came out. AFKers and grinders are ruining the game. Including Jedi grinders, go to the geno cave you can't get a hjit in cause of all the damn Jedi grinders and the cantinas and hospitals are worse. All the canitnas are is a AFK fest ant the hospitals no longer give out heals cause they do not want to waste their time and resources healing minor wounds when they got an AFK tumbler racking up the xp. You need to grow up and think about the game not yourself, cause you are being selfish and you and your kind are and have ruined the game fo rthose who wnat to just play.
You played it how it was ment to be played huh? Werll sorry to break the news to you, we didnt ask for a holo grind system, this is what we were forced to do to get jedi, dont get mad at us saying we ruined the game, maybe the devs and the system ruined the game. I am tired of you ppl that didnt unlock that hide behind the whole afk grinders, and i was playing it the way it should be. You know what FU, and **edit** i am sick of you saying you are better than us who actually did what was required of us to get jedi.

As of last night, I couldn't heal myself, I get a "You must wait" message...
Uh, guys? I've been hunting kaadus and Peko Peko here, .....
Please, for the love of Geroge, fix this!
I have the same problem. I use havla so maybe that's the deal. FIX THIS !!!
I was in the squill cave and nearly died, a jedi saved me. I was embarrassed. I'm a master doc, I should be able to give myself a stim pack.
Than I felt like an idiot when I couldn't heal my friends. Plus i got diseased from the sarlacc. Couldn't cure myself or my friends. Said.. You Must Wait....
I have to now agree that it is directly correlated to the use of havla. I used havla yesterday several times and have had the "you must wait to do that" bug ever since. Looks like we have it pinned down Dev's, up to you for the fix though.
