think an important factor for the immediate future is rewarding players on the path to Jedi. Players on 20 to 30 profs should be close to Jedi in the new system.

Exactly...SWG Players have been very patient and forgiving of delays, but it was promised that compensation would be made. It would be nice if Thunderheart would one simple question - Will those who have been seeking Jedi under the old system be compensated in the new?

Lots of new MMO's due out before the end of the year...

Keeping my SWG account active, but taking a WoW break until they make this game fun again...

2 of my 3 accounts canceled today...

No point in having a PvP toon and the buff bot. I packed all my stuff up on my PvE toon and will let my 3 months expire on him too.

At least IRC isn't 15$ a mo, SWG is nothing more then that for most of the folks I know.

I'm just going to play the Star Wars MOD for BF1942 and Generals until I am able to give EQ2 and WoW a try.

Anyone have some suggestions on how to replace evening play time?

Eh. Quitting a game so they will fix it is just...stupid. They aren't going to change their schedule. And if you care enough about the game to cancel your account in order to fix the game...then you're most likely going to come back when they do fix the game. so basically, there's no such thing as "Quitting so SOE will fix the game".

Regardless of wether they are willing to change their schedule or not, we are simply not willing to pay for the game while we're not enjoying it. Sure, many of us will be back once(if?) they do make things right, but that wont be this year most likely. If enough people quit they will notice their numbers declining and *might* take action, so the I don't see the logic of "quitting the game to get it fixed" to be entirely flawed.

Many are also annoyed by SOE over the constant delays, and have little faith in critical flaws being fixed anytime soon. So why spend our dollars while we wait, it's much better to use that money somewhere else until those critical flaws are taken care of.

So has there been any response by the devs here since I posted on page 4 saying what a crock it was that no balance was coming until they had earned more cash from a new game?

Seems like the right thing to do, it's the only way to change this. Every other reasonable method has been taken.

I just canceled both my accounts. Maybe I'll be back in a year, but I doubt it.

Ah but light they will not get money for the unfinished product. If you are not paying a monthly fee then you are not really there, and it provides greater incentive for them to fix the combat balance. So quitting does serve a purpose, and if they screw everything beyond repair they can count on loseing players for all time to another game, and not to mention that we drag more people out of the game with us. SOE has shown that it is all about the quick buck and not a rewarding team effort. Well that philosiphy works in the short run, but fails in the long run.

In the end it is about showing sony that theycan be hurt. That is what not patronizeing, boycotting, and shareing negative views is about. Every post on this board. Results in more attention being paid to a situation. From the players that might not know to the devs that seem blissfully unaware, and if it sends a message to all game companies not just sony. That job 1 is a playable product. Then many of these companies will learn that is more important then empty content, and pretty pictures.

I have always made it a personal value of mine to reward gameing companies that are dedicated to fine gameplay. That is why I bought a game cube, and will probabally buy their next product. That company in the first person almost always delivers solid gameplay. I even give alot of attention to third party developers that I know deliver me a solid product more often then not.

It is not you personally quitting that does the harm. It is when a large group of people quitting that should give you pause. You might be looking at this thread and saying well only a few thousand accounts are going to disappear, but we are the vocal players. Many more just quit no statement just quit, and people will continue to quit in increaseing numbers. The gold mine for sony here is continuous players. People that will play and pay for a year or two. Not the guys who come and go in a trial period. The sooner they realize that the better it will be. Better for us to come back. Better for those who for whatever reason are decideing to stay.

for any of you people that are actually here saying,"what a bunch of whiners the devs have been trying so hard," should read this.

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bounty_hunter&message.id=259878

That links to a history of the combat balance.

Started being hyped like it was around the corner in DECEMBER. Followed by monthly delays and us being told "just to wait till CB it will fix everything" and more delays for 6+months. This is the best example of corporate dishonesty I have seen in a while.

I would be interested to see how TH would respond to so many false statements that he made.
Personally if my employer had me lying to the fan base, that pays my salary, and then have me basically admit it all had been a lie; id be pissed.

BTW at the rate its going, give it till DECEMBER to start, that would mean that it took a full year to get started on fixing a major part of the game. DO you really want to play a game that it takes the devs a year to START fixing one of the biggest parts of the game? I would hope you were smarter than that.

Your assuming that JTL gets released on time, and they dont need 3 or 4 months to fix it.

I knowI'Massuming that it will be delayed and bug ridden (I hope Im wrong), but do you blame me considering they're track record?

My advice.

Jump to lightspeed is a waste of time. If I want to play space I can buy a star wars space game. Better fix combat. I know I am not logging in anytime soon and have cancelled my two accounts already.

Do me a favor create a jedi free server. This might satisfy some of us who have come to hate this profession because of the players who play them.
