Hey guys, while I understand how messed up the game is, I don't mind. If you think about it, the game has come along pretty well considering it's only been out a year. And you know, there probably isn't one other MMORPG that had a balanced combat system within the first year O_O
Hehe, if you guys think SWG is bad, you should try Shadowbane =D
Anyway, I'm not cancelling my account, cause I DO think the game could turn into the best MMORPG ever, but like other games, it needs a lot of time. Oh yeah, and I do want to check out Jump to Lightspeed =)
I think the main problem here isn't that the game is imbalanced, it's that the Devs aren't on schedule. If they read this, which they probably won't, they should know that they need to stop telling us what's going to happen next, cause it leads to dissapointment, and account cancellations.

Damn no wonder Q3PO left I'd have quit if i were in his shoes finding out that everything your told by your bosses is a bunch of crap. I wouldnt wanna be the one to have to tell the players that PAY THE SALERY OF THE STAFF AT SOE that all the promises made to them were just a fabrication of lies & bull**edit**. Dont like my assessment of what SOE did thunderheart well tough cause theres an old saying the truth hurts. Now be a good little zombie but wad & tell your masters at SOE ya know the twits wearin the armani suits we want combat fixed before you go ahead & make things worse by releasing JTL under the current system. You at SOE think your gonna keep this thing goin with new customers, well how do you expect to get those customers if all us vets & current players give any potential customers you might have had negitive reviews & tell em not to waste their money on it. Remember word of mouth is 100x stronger than any bulls^%t ad you can put in a magazine.

For starters, since last year we have been giving feed back.
We were told to give ideas as well. For a combat balance
that was moved, we were told to give ideas again.
It was moved again, now again, we are being told to give ideas, again, for a rescheduled combat balance, again.
Its not so much a problem of them stuffing things up. Its a problem of waiting and waiting while being told "Its your turn next", with "We'll get ready"
Then, being told again, "We have to delay it a couple more months"
If you think, ok, I'll hang on for a bit more, well, this is the third time, people that did put faith in expecting their feedback on combat to go into fruition. Well, lets just keep doing it. Again.
Not happy. Naturally. They stuffed up. Badly.

Look TH - there is an answer to this - I have been here since opening day and its been an interesting experience albeit one that seems to move very slowly with regards to addressing major problems in gameplay (like the number of items storable - never mind GCW, Jedi, Etc) If you want to put out this firestorm ---
Hire a second team and make a commitment to your player base
Its more money out the door - but it shows you are in fact here to help make the game a success...as much so as the players. I'm sure thats a decision someone in the chain of command can make...and how much can it effect the bottom line to add one or two more junior programmers with this as their focus??? This CAN STILL BE A WIN WIN - JTLS and the ground updates needed. Talk abou it folks and see what you can get done ASAP.

Hey TH, I'll be your friend. No one else seems to want to be. We have time for anyone who wants to have fun and kill imps. Sandpacker on sunrunner /salute to the one, no one here seems to love. You gotta love a chalange.

Fanboi's and bootlicker's sweating over a spot in JTL beta aside, this is a mess that a majority of the community is still unaware of.
(Forget not posting, if people offer blind faith I must counter with reasoned anger)
With any likelihood, it will be the gaming magazines that help us to pull the most weight with SOE.
Our screaming here will probably go unanswered, but bad publicity speaks miles more than we ever could.
SOE has probably pre-calculated a sizable subscriber loss due to this announcement...but...
I wonder if they counted on a formal backlash to this decision in PRINT in popular gaming magazines...
Because that is exactly what is about to happen.
People have already beegun getting responses from the e-mails we have sent to gaming magazines.
THEY have given us more of a chance to speak our heartfelt minds that the makers of this POS have.
This issue will be brought to the public's attention soon enough,
whenSOE is asked to comment 'on the record' for upcoming magazines which dedicate actual space to this problem.
They have shown us their true colors here. Will they do the laundry before making any other brilliant announcements?
I emplore everyone who cares enough to read this to write an e-mail to the editors of the popular gaming magazines.
Yes, even those who think things are still hunky dory, you blind bats should speak your mind too, lets keep this fair, since the devs CANT.
Here are a few:
I for one cant wait to see this fiasco see the light of day.
My last bit of faith in this game lies not withthe developers, but with the power of the almighty $$$ they love to force them to do the right thing after all.
May the force be with us all.....

There is a lot of people in game that do not read the forums and dont know what is going on about CB and GCW. I've logged today to announce it to some friends in my guild. They were almost more disapointed than I am about this. Four of them will probably leave. If thought that it was a good idea to spread the word in game but the chat system was bugged and the conversation was very difficult...
you're right, everyone should know how this game has no *near* future coming.
The more will know the true, the more SOE will have to do to keep their players in the game. Wait that's illogical, they haven't respond yet... ![]()

think an important factor for the immediate future is rewarding players on the path to Jedi. Players on 20 to 30 profs should be close to Jedi in the new system.

I quick list of how it screws other then combats I could draw each point out but the board would lose interest if its too long.
Weaponsmiths. The buffs make ham cost unimportant. No incentive to uber weapons to lower ham. Where as that used to be a selling factor. No ham cost restrictions allow players to use weapons constantly that should only be used sparingly. Spamming at nauseum means that a more accurate gun. Has no value since you have as many shots as you like. Speed low speed weapons just aint what they used to be. Since players rocketsled to insane caps. So they live in a game where their product is reduced to a set equation. Most of the weapons they make do not have a market. Result a poor crafting experience, and lower value in the economy.
Armorsmith. They make composite armor. Once again all they make is composite armor. With that armor able to be amped to 80 plus with a good slice. One needs to ask why buy any of the other armor. Even the ham costs do not stop people from wearing it god you got to love brandy and buffs. Seriously the buffs are trouble and the brandy is trouble. The composite penalty is removed, and even if it still applied it beats everything so why wear chittin bone ubese tantel ris, or even use psgs.
Chef. They only got a few worthwhile foods, but the worthwhile ones are awesome. Sadly same problem as armorsmith all these things they can craft, but do not have value.
Medic The out of line buffs just make their role unimportant. If you can spam at nauseum and have a huge refill. You hardly take wounds, and added bonus you never need stimmed.
Doctor Sure they make awesome money buffing in coronet, but anyone remember when these guys were team players. We really took them along for the heals and the rezes. We fought to keep the badies off them. They kept us going against increadible creatures. I even remember when master doc was loved for those killer stim bs he made.
Droid Engineer/Creature Handler. When you are super buffed. What possible use do you have for robot or beast tanks. It is a waste of time. Since buffed you can eat more damage then them, and you do not need spend upwards of five minutes fixing them up afterwards.
That is just a quick list of who suffers, asside from combats with the combat rebalance being postponed. Crafting was about makeing quality products. Being an expert on your products, and being a cherished part of the economy. That is not the case anymore, and some supports are just neutered by buffs and food medics CHs.

Nobody said the game hasn't come a long way. The issue here is, first and foremost, we are tired of being LIED TO!
If you do not want to cancel your account, fine, don't. Nobody cares really. However those of us who have quit and are harping on this issue, are doing so in an attempt to FORCE SOE TO FIX THE GOD DAMNED CORE GAME!
No, it's not perfect, nothing ever will be. But this piece of **edit** has been broken massively from day 1, they know it and they have promised a fix for it for better than 8 months. "Right after the Jedi Revamp" I believe is what Thunderheart said.
Now they are wanting to have us buy an expansion instead of fixing the core game.
**edit** that.

Exactly...SWG Players have been very patient and forgiving of delays, but it was promised that compensation would be made. It would be nice if Thunderheart would one simple question - Will those who have been seeking Jedi under the old system be compensated in the new?

Eh. Quitting a game so they will fix it is just...stupid. They aren't going to change their schedule. And if you care enough about the game to cancel your account in order to fix the game...then you're most likely going to come back when they do fix the game. so basically, there's no such thing as "Quitting so SOE will fix the game".
