Thread: Great Expectations, Major Schedule Changes and making SWG the finest MMORPG ever
We recieved several passionate missives about a certain game, and they were all actually pretty well-written. Such were the restrained and eloquent soliloquys that we'll be devoting our next mailbag to it. As we are journalists, we are taking time to get the story from both sides. Stay tuned!

One wonder what they could possibly be talking about...

Basically, all you people need to lighten up. If I was a developer, my days of reading any posts on this board would have been done long ago. What is the purpose? Too read post after post, and many posters posting multiple times just to see their posts posted, of extraordinary hate posts?
No, the forums are supposed to be a way for us to relay our thoughts, comments, and suggestions on the game to the developers and such. Wouldn't you be mad too if they never listened?
If you want to quit, just do it. Don't threaten it. Justdo it. Like the commercial says. The game and this board will be better off without you.
Actually, no, it wouldn't. All the people that are quitting or have threated to quit make up the majority of the playerbase in this game. What would happen if everyone did quit? The only people left would be Jedi, and twitch game guru's that could give a **edit** about the ground game.
When you wake up from your feeding frenzy and look at the carnage you have left behind, you should be ashamed and embarrassed.
Why, because we're bitching and complaining? It's called expressing your opinion there genius, something that everyone is allowed to do. What country do you live in?
Furthermore, do you think I shouldn't be able to walk into McDonalds, after eating a crappy Big Mac, and not be able to tell them that their food is crap, or call the workers incompetent? Sure, you may seem like an ass for doing it, but it is definetly warranted.
To those developers that people found it necessary to personally malign, understand (I think you do) not everyone is as ungrateful as it appears in the replies to this thread. Some of us are actually satisfied overall with the entertainment we receive for our tiny $15.00 a month. It sure beats other things we could spend 15 bucks on. Would we like to see some things added, changed, removed? Yes. We would like a place to discuss it without the constant whining flamers though.
Actually, my $15 dollars would be better spent on condoms, but to each is own.
Again, this is a place for us to express our opinion. Yes, some people flame and whine. But, and I repeat myself again. Wouldn't you be mad if no one listened to you when you actually had something constructive to say?
To all the developers, we thank you for what you have done right and good for this game. Mistakes are made. Yes. Should people be stoned do death over it? NO! If anyone thinks so, then let's have the one person who has never made a mistake or never had to take back out something they said or did be the first one to throw a stone.
You don't speak for the rest of us, so don't try.
Yes, people do make mistakes, but wouldn't you get fed up if they did over and over? Would you keep continuing to take back your girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife if they continued to cheat on you, and keep promising that they wouldn't do it again? Even if they were a dynamo in the sack, I don't think my self esteem could take it.
Simply put, SWG is the cheating girlfriend that some of us don't want to let go.
Never have I seen such an overwhelming display of communication through hate (hmm, they must all be on the path of the Dark Side).
Again, again, and again. If they didn't listen to you the first time, when you were civil and nice, don't you think you would be a little bit peeved?
I for one am actually looking forward to JTL. I cannot wait to actually have a Star Ship in Star Wars Galaxies and to be able to fly it in space.
Ditto, but I actually play this game in hopes of a decent ground game. Unfortuanetly, I haven't recieved it. Furthermore, the ground game should not simply be a staging area for space. Not all SW battles took place in space, you know...
Regardless of all the negativity in this thread, I hope the developers continue to support the game for those of us that are less vocal. And I hope the developers can turn sufficient enough profit to justify continuance of the game as well.
I really hope they can too, but my patience is waining. And trust me, this game will continue, but not in the way it started out as.

You know I am happy for you that the game is working out for you, I do on occasion enjoy it too, but I know what it was supposed to be. Why is that? Because i have followed the development of this game for many years now and was lucky enough to participate in beta 3. I am well aware that MMORPG's continually evolve over time, but they usually evolve from a solid base up at launch.
I have stated in previous posts that I too am looking forward to JTL, but do you really think it is wise to add an expansion or "mesh" as Thunderheart put it onto a foundation of bugs that the dev's have been unable or unwilling to fix since launch. Have you actually read the posts in this forum, yes there is alot of negativity and probably a few inappropriate posts (if your quick enough to see them before they are deleted) but why is that? do you think these people are typing for the fun of it. How about you read some of the constructive posts throughout this thread and see what people are getting angry about.
The devs have stated that fixing the core game will require as much effort as making a console game...thats the core game that should have been stable and balanced at launch. We are not just out from launch, we are a whole year out the game should not be still in the state it is in, it shouldn't be up to us to give them idea's on how to improve things....it's thier game they are all from other MMORPG's apparently, so why are they having such a difficult time in fixing the core of the game.
Just because you can "play" the game in its current state doesnt mean it shouldnt be fixed or ignored...too much "new" content is going into this game that only supports a small percentage of the player base...usually the powergamers.
Lastly the $15.00 a month is the highest price for a MMORPG, the reason SOE gave was that Galaxies is a cut above everything out there "a premium game" is it really??
