Just a small question, not a big deal.

Under the new unlocking method, players will have the option to unlock their second slot, and (if they were so inclined) have 2 jedi. Will current players that have already unlocked be able to turn their main slot into a jedi? or will not being able to have 2 jedi be the cost for unlocking on the original design?

Hi im new here. 2 day subscriber.

I love the changes from the old system. I do share the same concern though as many in saying that it is not appealing to not be able to pick the 2nd slot you unlock as a FSC while keeping your main character. As a new subscriber why should I Master any professions at all if im only going to have to retrain them in publish 10 as Jedi skills? I would much rather be able to keep my main and start a new fresh JEDI character on my second unlocked slot granted i complete the quests.

An idea I had that I was debating with people on the stratics IRC channel. Since the Jedi PvP Ranking system has such much meaning. In addition to the JEDI Light rank voting system make a voting system in the councils to boot unproductive traitor JEDIs. LIke for example a Light Jedi Knight as a PVP Force ranking of 0. He has lost all 50 battles he has ever been in. Now all this Light Jedi is doing is making Dark Jedis stronger by giving them PvP Force rank by getting defeated all the time. My idea is to make an additional voting system for bothLight and Dark JEdis to vote Jedis out through council meetingswith a majority vote. This way one faction is not entirely weakened by either having too many jedisor too many JEDIs that lose all the time. Make the stats available to high ranking council members of all JEDI in their faction and in addition to rank boost voting they could vote on who they wanted to remove from being a Light Jedi at all. This can be implemented for Dark Jedi also but wouldnt apply to voting for ranks just for inactive, unproductive, or traitorous JEDI within their faction.

Any JEDI voted out would go neutral and could be recruited by the other faction or "cleanse" themselves and go through trial again to get into their faction on a clean slate. Also neutral JEDI would not give PVP Force Rank when victorius in battle or defeated.

This is just my idea to make the JEDI councils more social and immersive. How cool would it be to see trials and cases being made in the councils on information that a JEDI was a traitor, or kicking one out for never winning and having the satisfaction of knowing your faction is stronger without said people. But keep this like a democracy of sorts where all people voted for epxlusion from faction as a majority or minority vote. It couldd even be a higher majority if it was a concern.

Anyways thats just my dream.

Also it was said Light Jedis would have to defend ranks aggresively. Never have I known other Light Jedis to kill other Light Jedis. This would be like a duel and not deathblos I hope. And a certain mode like "Light Jedi Duel mode" that they could do in which death blows were impossible. Never EVER should you see a Light Jedi kill another Light Jedi unless they were a spy for the IMperialists. And even then I think their practice was abandonment and stranding them.

From Jedi Archives Volume 2:

Crystals will also provide much nicer stats depending on the level of NPC they come from.

No dropping, please. Jediharvest crystals. Sith craft them. Looting a crystal from a meatlump, or any other NPC, is idiocy. It always has been. It's not that it's difficult. It's just stupid. It's non-canon. It's not fun. It makes no sense at all. Who do I need to jab with a cattle-prod for this to be heard? It's counter-immersive. It's boring. It contradicts ever source available. It robs Jedi of content. It's wrong for every possible reason.

Sorry about the rant, but this is getting frustrating.

No one is asking for crystal harvesting/craftingto be easy. I'm not anyway. But, we want it to be Star Wars. No Jedi ever said, "Now, young Padawan, whack on that Plasma Thief until he coughs up a Force Crystal."

From the official site:

Concealed within the caverns of a frigid, mountainous world of Ilum are precious crystals that form the heart of the Jedi lightsaber. From the most ancient days of the Jedi order, initiates have journeyed to Ilum to find the crucial components for their weapons.

Unlike the Jedi, who use natural crystals mined from such worlds as Ossus in the Adega system, the Sith prefer synthetic crystals to generate their lightsaber blades. While the crystals are being forged in a blazing furnace, it is not uncommon for a Sith to reach out with the Force and manipulate the process, focusing his hatred for the Jedi to increase the potency of the crystals.

the main thang i wanna know is how are they going to keep it fair to everyone?

by that i mean, everyone has the chance to become a jedi, but we certainly dont want every person that plays this game to be a lightsaber wielding bad @$$. so how are they going to control the number of jedi in the galaxies and make it to where everyone can become one without having a million running around. is there going to be a cap or what to keep it fluid?

One major question sticks out to me. These changes will go into effectbefore the combat revamp occurs. That means that buffs will still be playing an extremely large role in keeping Jedi alive. With this in mind,Jedi, afterPublish 9, will be running aroundwith permanent TEF's. TheseJedi with permanentTEF's, are going to have to get buffed if they want to have a chance against BH's running them down, or well anyone picking a fight. Right now, unless you are friends with the Doc, it is near impossible to get buffed while wearing a TEF or Overt, because the Doc's themselves don't want to pick up a TEF.

Until the combat revamp happens, Jedi are going to have serious problems staying alive until, unless they know docs that are willing to buff overt players and get TEF'ed themselves.

I think these are great changes. There is one concern that I have though. I've spent a ton of time holo grinding on a character that I'm not all that fond of. I was doing it in hopes of unlocking a FS slot and making a new character that I do like. With these upcoming changes, it looks like I'm going to be stuck with my crappy character to be a Jedi because he will be further along than a new character. I'd honestly be more inclined to delete him and make a new character on my server. I don't feel I should have to do this though. So I would greatly appreciate the ability to somehow transfer my old character's status on to a new character. That way my Jedi would end up being the one I want, like, and would enjoy playing with. I'm sure other people share this opinion. If you have any comments, I'm very interested to hear them, so please reply! Thank you everyone for your time.

Any hints on the type of quests we will be doing, this is probably my only question left, I really hope its not like the holo hunting with loads of players having a go at each other and ninja looting, killstealing etc.

Overall changes look great. However, both the voting system and the duel for rank system will be abused and you will end up with a basically staticgroup of "ranked" jedi. In mmorpgs, anything that can be abused will be abused.

I also wonder if Jedi will have some part in the space expansion, since in the SWG universe some of the outstanding pilots have been Jedis.

I'll give EQII a chance but if SOE starts transfering Jedi to EQII servers due to lack of room on SWG servers, I'll cancel my accounts there as well.

My question is that how could anyone give you one star for that post? Given SOE's focus on ruining this game with the Jedi class, I'd say this is a legitimate worry.

so basically all in all in one sentance.

"Welcome to Jedi Wars Online: An Empire With Lightsabers"

I can't wait to be one of the few non jedi on the servers. The worst thing about all this is that the major minority of players are being catered to where as everyone else is told to "Wait on this publish that publish and the other five". can we please just have a decent working game where we don't have to run past 100 Light Jedi in Theed all talking about their Uber sabers.

IGN -- We often hear the loudest cries from a relative minority. Still, it seems odd that all the comments sent our way have been negative.
HADEN -- Yeah, all the guys who are happy with everything are playing the game. They aren't spending their time sending you guys letters or posting on the forums.
TH -- At its core, the idea of polling players in game is valid and one I'd like to pursue, but when it comes to forum demographics, avid posters tend to be early adopters and power users. The feedback they provide is always valuable information.

Ok not sure if was delt on fully inside this huge honking thread but my quiestion and still unclear on this is anout chars and slots. So here is way that I understand the three states of a char will be once this all goes live.

1) You have a Jedi already - You still have wo slots, your jedi slot will have all of the 'force sensitive' skills and start working on the path to knight based on how far into jedi you already are. Such as a 4-4-4-4 in the 'padawan' tree will have 16 (or maybe 17) 'points' to buy up skills to get to the 'knight' level. You also have the option to keep it at the padawan level and insted buy up 'normal' skills such as marksman and the like. Will these 'revamped' jedi slots now be full value chars (10 lots and ability to have houses?). You can also work with your main after the publish who will also be 'force sensitive' and move up the trees with that char or will the char that you mastered the proffs with have to start from scratch to be 'force sensitive'?

2) You do not have jedi but have been gridning - In this case your main char gets 'credits' towards the 'Force Sensitive' quest based on how many profs that you have already compleated. Once you finish the quest your main becomes 'Force Sensitive' and you now unlock a 2nd standard char that can play as any other char and take through the quests as well?

3) You just started the game with fresh char - Like above but have to do the full quest from start to finish then follows same pattern as #2?

Am I reading those as the way things will be working? In the end if you have time and dedication could have 2 chars on same server both being full on PVP jedi knights?

Also Say I have a jedi slot on Eclipse already and a char on say Intrepid, can I take my Intrepid char through the quest and get a jedi on both servers along with 2nd char on both servers? Or will the 2nd slot only be on the first server you finish the quests on and all other servers be limited to just a 'force sensitive' main and no 2nd slot?

With the idea posted of galaxy transfers in the publish schedual if I have unlocked and gotten the 2nd char and later transfer will both move together or one at a time (know this one is way down the road but trying to think ahead). In other words will that 2nd slot be tethered to your original till the end of time?

Over all looking like will be intresting to see how it all works out. I just hope that the jedi quests are not all just kill and colect missions of rare drops (RIS armor quest).
