So far, I'm a big fan of the changes. I do have one question:
Why wouldn't ANY character pursue force sensitivity? If you don't have to start giving up standard skills until have you complete the Padawan trials, then what possible drawback would there be to getting the 24 skillboxes? Other than the effort required to obtain them, what's the cost?

I am probaly older than you are, boy. Even after i get the skill boxes, I still wont be a jedi Knight until i complete the trials whatever in the hell they are gonna be...well I AM A JEDI KNIGHT now and way past it, and I should be after any transition. Instead of throwing around stupid names, read my points describing the failure of this revamp and logically tell me where I am off.
Dude, did you even READ the damn archives? It CLEARLY states (if you werent too intimidated by more than one paragraph) that you still have all the credit to get all the possible skill boxes any Jedi can get if you are a current 4-4-4-4 Guardian. It, in plain english, states that your character will begindown the Knight trials, but you will already be, in essance, a master Knight. You will RIGHT AWAY FROM DAY ONE be able to begin PvP among other things to gain your ranking in the underground council. You will be considered a "Jedi Master" because you have no skills besides force skills and are maxed out on those, but each Jedi Master will have their own specialty. You build them how you see fit. Understand, or are you going to waste more of our time by calling the devs idiots, when in reality you are the one confused by larger than average words and multiple paragraphs? You may be older than some of the people here, but the fact that you are not asking questions and just flaming without asking for clarification constitutes you as a child, no matter your age. Take your flames elsewhere and try to put yourself in the DEV's shoes for a sec. you have no idea what its like to have to appeal to the tastes of thousands upon thousands of people, while trying to keep the game balanced and fun. It is alright to disagree, but yelling isn't gonna do **edit**.
There will never be aMMO where everyone is completely happy, but I have confidence that the DEVs are doing everything they can to make this game a blast for everyone.
Now, I have better things to do than to lecture, unless you are still going to be grumpy about things you do not know and decide to try and make a witty comeback. In that case I look forward to your comments.
Ciao,

You are mistaken. Funny how you berate me for not reading and paying attention when that is your EXACT shortcoming. You will not be able to PvP, in this sense, unitl AFTER you complete the jedi knight trials. Who knows what those are? Or how long they will take. I imagine it will take longer thatn a day. What I do know is that I WILL NOT be a jedi KNIGHT int he new system until I complete it.
And when a whole community gets together and lists its top fiveissues, andDevs try to pitch a revamp THAT DOES NOTDIRECTLY address each of them, then yes that is idiotic from a customer relations - and developer - point of view.
I know the very first thing after I unlock my friends and guildmates will want to see and I seriously doubt my friends would rat me out to the Bounty Hunters =)
NOTE: I have been under the influence of certain modifiers while writing this. Sorry for any language errors.

Can you please consider guildmates and group members to not count towards visability on the Bounty Hunter terminals.

1. You do a quest (no skill changing involved at all!) you can unlock force sensitivity AND a new character slot. Skill changing WILL NOT be required.
2. You can choose to Proceed with Force Sensitivity progression by unlocking 24 blocks of associated Force Sensitive skills on your CURRENT character to attain Padawan via the padawan trials. BUT,it is not set is stone. There have been discussions to make the acquisition of theskills to happen during the quests to unlock Force Sensitivity. If we went that way then players could be able to go directly into the Jedi Padawan quests if they wanted to.
3. -OR- you can re-do the force sensitive quests on the new character and then unlock those 24 boxes on that NEW character preserving your primary character. You will have to go through the whole series of quests again if you want to be able to advance as a Jedi with the second character.
TH,
This is still not clear to me... Let me ask it this way; WIll my existing main still be my main and will my exisitng Jedi still be my jedi?
Thx..
yeah, i want my main to be my main, and the 2nd slot to be FS. i dont wanna have to grind a new "main", or have to do the FS quest over on the 2nd slot. that all means more grinding = bad
I didn't bother to read through all the posts but my feelings are that the new system is as stupid as the old one. Thesedevs have totally lost focus on the timeline. Only very, very few should have ever been Jedi. The Holocron system was stupid, they should have just kept it a mystery, never mentioning how people could become Jedi. Occasionally a real community member would unlock their slot and truely have no idea how it happened. That would have been a reason to adventure, get badges, try different professions, and debate endlessly in the forums. This game has lost its potential as a stand aloneproduct only the Space Expansioncan save it now.
I'm so glad I never wasted my time Hologrinding. To all of you masochist Hologrinders; all I can do is laugh at you. Your reward is to be just like everyone else...![]()

Only problem I have with this system is that you remove the Wisdom factor.
1) Robes=Armor means you can always spot a Jedi by his duds. A Jedi cannot hide who he is. You're basically setting up the Jedi for a full out gang bang every time they go somewhere where there's a few people. (Can't you guys just include the benefits of armor in their skillset?)
If the Jedi is not at the level where he is 24/7 overt... who really cares if everyone knows you're a Jedi? Even with composite and ubese, I can smell a Jedi from 100m away. No title, 20-30 POI badges with no professions mastered, Rebel in a known Imperial guild, carrying a weapon certified to a profession which requires a prior profession mastery (such as a flamethrower)... I don't need to see a robe to know you're a jedi. And even if I DO know you're a Jedi... who cares? It's not like I can do anything about it.
If the Jedi is at the level where he's 24/7 overt... he's gonna be red on the radar. Robe or not, Jedi or not, he's gonna be attacked. It happens to non-Jedi overts all the time.
But if giving regular players Jedi-like robes without the enhancements helps the Jedi who don't want anyone to know who they are (even if they do already)... then fine. I have an alt who's a master tailor... I'll run 1000 crates of Jedi-like robes and everyone can wear em.
2) The full on PvP and the robes means a Jedi can't talk his way out of a fight. They'll know who he is and they'll immediately attack him. That's not very Jedi like.
3) The only way for a Jedi to avoid being gang-banged is to always travel with a lot of people (they're Jedi, not P-Diddy and his body guards) or to NEVER go busy places. Which is also kinda silly.
It just seems to me that part of the great RP satisfaction of being a Jedi Knight or Master, the hiding, the talking your way out of conflict instead of ALWAYS having to resort to combat, is getting cut out of this picture because, well most people don't roleplay. Can't you guys add a "Force sense" skill? Tied into visibillity some how? Something? Jedi vs. Jedi is one thing. But if they are ALWAYS PvP, ALWAYS a known enemy, then you lose a large part of the "Star Wars" factor, and "Cool factor" of being a Jedi Master/Knight in this time period.
I agree that hiding your identity, especially in crowded areas, is a fun roleplay factor. Qui-Gon certainly tried to conceal his lightsaber in Mos Espa. Maybe regular players SHOULD be allowed Jedi-like robes and Jedi should have a "mind trick" skill to give themselves a false title.
But once you're at the level where you're 100% declared... there's no sense trying to hide that you're a Jedi.

The way I read it, as you unlock those skill boxes, you'd have to revoke a skill to claim one of the Force skill boxes. Or maybe I'm just misreading. If that's not the case, it does seem like there would be little actual choice to make as far as whether to claim the Force-sensitive skills.
If those 24 boxes of Force-sensitivity required you to give up even 1 "regular" skillpoint from your template, per box trained, then folks would be forced into making some choices. Particularly a class like Bounty Hunter, which has precious few extra skill points to work with. Do I drop my extra carbine accuracy mod from Carb Marksmanship 3 so I can take a "force defense" skill to improve my defensive acuity, or is it more important to me to know I can land my shots more accurately. To me, that would be fun and challenging. If the only decision involved in picking up force-sensitive skill mods is whether to expend the effort to do the quests, there will be a LOT of force-enhanced pvp templates running around, and either 1) there will be greater disparity between the strong and the weak or 2) force-sensitive skill mods won't really be anything special.
Well that's what I'm saying...they shouldn't be 100% declared attackable all the time. And even if they ARE, and you don't know they're a Jedi, there's LESS chance of them going, "Oh hell, I better get 20 of my friends first."
