Thread: Friday Feature Errata: PvP Insurance Yes, 1% decay, not gone.

I don't think decay should ever be removed. I'm sick of people making this game too easy. For god's sake, crafters have the most boring job in the game. So how do you make their lives a little less miserable? Give them more of a market. And I'm not just talking about uber elite crafted items. You can't fit into the schedule to get 200k composite? Then buy a suit of Ubese for 100k from a non master armorsmith or whatever. Since when did you always need the best ... anda bonus to that is, if you buy a suit for 100k, it'll last just as long as the 200k suit, and the sting of decay won't hurt as much.
BTW, die!
Because Ubese has very little resistances. Sure it's great for kinetic, but that does crap good against someone wielding a laser rifle or any of the other weapons that does other type of damage. I carry 3 carbines that do 3 different types of damage, Heat, Acid, and Energy. I have yet see Ubese get any of those protections high enough to warrant 100k.
Also, your logic is off. Those same crafters that people need to wait in line for to get composite, are the same ones that can make Ubese. So, you're not saving them any less clicks by buying cheaper armor.
what you don't realize is that CRAFTERS and more importantly TAILORS do not DRIVE THIS GAME and pay your salary.
if there isn't anybody willing to buy armor or clothing then crafters are worthless.
armorsmiths sure aren't hurting for money decay or no decay.
this game is being ground to its knees because of tailors?
pathetic.
Please remove decay entirely if cannot remove pvp death decay..
My sliced weapons/armor are soon to be worthless due to the crackdown,
at least let us have no decay on death.
at least in pvp
Lets see how many ways we can accuse Thunderheart of lying because we have no clue how this game was programmed. Get real people, I doubt Thunderheart would lie about something like this.
Thank you Thunderheart for all the hard work you've put forth in these past months to help this game and community grow. Despite a mistake of words I still trully respect everything you've done, and hope you dont let all of the ignorant people that visit these forums get to you.
I'd also like to add that I do believe that decay should be removed. With the inflation of prices on many of the servers its nearly impossible for a casual player who doesnt like to run missions all the time to make the money necessary to PVP effectively with this decay. On the Bloodfin server resource and equipment prices are insane, and it being the "unofficial" PVP server I've found it hard to make the money necessary to compete in a PVP enviroment.

The Little Things: The little things matter as much as the big things. There were many sound upgrades, improvements to the graphic user-interface and even a few minor activities for players to find. Many POI's and places where NPC's interact with each other (or NPC theaters). One of the "biggest little" things with this publish will be the removal of "insurance" from the death penalty in Player versus Player combat.Players will no longer have to insure their items after each death in PVP.
The reason is because there is no way to tell the difference between a "PvP Death" and a "PvE Death".I will continue to try and get the development team to remove the 1% decay with insurance. (Any good ideas from you folks for an alternative might help).
There will still be a 1% decay penalty in pvp death but you will not have to re-insure after that death.
You've contradicted yourself. How can you tell that we just died from a player, and leave our items insure
but not tell we died from a player, and not decay our items! OBVIOUSLY if you have the code to tell the difrerence between a PvP-PvE death when it comes to Removing insurance, its not much different to simply not decay the items!
You devs have to realize the only REAL content this game has, is the War, and decay is killing it
Armor already decays from being hit, and armorsmiths are already Rich as he!!, 500k for suits of armor?
Your holocrons pretty much destroyed most of the "True" crafters.
So really, the only people your worried about is tailors and there precious clothing, which STILL works at 0 condition? sure, tapes dont, BE enhances dont, but i'm still wearing my shirt, pants, coat, jacket, 0 condition, i dont need to replace em. they do exactly what they did when i bougt them, prevent me from being naked...
Weapons - Already decay
Armor - Already decays
If your so worried about ONE profession "the tailors" Just put in a decay over time for there clothes
I was just starting to enjoy this game again.. And was actualy excited about this patch, coz you guys were doing Everything right it seemed, now, days before it hits, you yank out one of the best features...
Man I hopeI get picked for WoW beta, Guarntee the devs there will at least realize the players are who make the game. You may code it, but without us, you'll only have empty unprofitiable huge servers..
You keep making the fanbase unhappy. you'll run out of fanbase..
World of Warcraft, here i come..

Nope. It really was wishful thinking...
They removed the need to insure after each death. The 1% decay is tougher to do technically, though I wont give up.
The biggest obstacle to that is if nothing decays then Tailors and Weaponsmiths don't get repeat business...and we need to love them too.
It is being changed to:
