Thread: IT 7-16: New Dungeon The Corellian Corvette
Okay, this is about the coolest thing I can think of besides actually being in Space...
Any groups going tonight that wouldn't mind a TC semi-n00b tag-along? ![]()

Server's down, so time for more Corvette issues. Went up again today on the Imp side. The one officer's quarters and the room below are still not unlockable; the fuel intake controls, hyperdrive controls, and engine settings still respond with "Nothing happens." If there's a switch or a lever needed to activate those, it's inaccessible or broken. Additionally, I went up as a covert imp, grouped with an overt imp. Upon arriving on the shuttle, there was a TEF between us that prevented us from healing one another. Later on, in the lower corridors, I was attacked by a Super Battle Droid and she was unable to attack the droid. Later still, she was attacked by a droid, and I was unable to attack that one or send my pet to attack it.
I'm also worried about one of the Imperial search locations, namely the Anchorhead Tavern. It seems ridiculously unfair that Imperials just have to travel from Bestine to Anchorhead to get a Corvette ticket, while both Neutrals and Rebels at the least have to travel a far-flung dungeon. It's possible to simply speak to the Lt. in Bestine, head over to AH, and search the container. If you get a food order, you can simply return to the Lt., pick up 100fp for the food order, quit the quest, restart, then search in AH again. Using this method, I was able to stockpile a large number of tickets in a short time period. Just moving the start for this search location to the Imp Oasis or the Emperor's Retreat would slow it down considerably. Since I have +5000 Canyon Corsair faction, I can pull a similar trick for the Neutral ticket, but a 20km roundtrip by bike on Lok makes it at least somewhat challenging and harder to repeat quickly. The problem's more in the closelocation of the container, rather than the repeatability. If you hit the shuttles right, you can have an Imperial ticket in under 5 minutes, even if takes you two tries.

I'll probably be going... But I'm pretty much a TC noob myself. I only have pistols 4 and master artisan and novice chef under my belt. I can't handle myself very well in combat...
If you'd like meet me in Bestine in like an hour or so. I should be there between 6 and 6:30PM Pacific.

I read the entire post but there was no word on it if that you were a neutral could you tag along with an imperial or rebel. or whould it be that you couldn't do anything there since you do not have a faction affiliation?
I'm wondering that too, I've been in Wayfar all night looking for a group of neutrals. Doing missions to make some creds and get more XP, but no one else has been by.

Anarchy online started it and while theirs did get pale after so long since the theme was always the same it was enjoyable to take time and do as you please in your private dungeon. Open dungeons are not good in a mmorpg enviroment and you either feel rushed or wind up waiting to get anything accomplished.
My hats off for you guys taking the next step and catching up to the contenders..
I like to see credit where it is due. Anarchy Online was the first game to have these private dungeons/quests for you or your group. As a matter of fact, they also started the "missions" and mission terminals idea too. I've always said, SWG is combining the best parts of the best games and trying to disclude the worst parts of them, and to adapt it to an already written story/universe. Now if we can stay away from the EQ mode of thinking that many people have accustomed themselves to, we'd be a lot better off. This thing of Ub3r L00Tz dropping from a boss is an example, or loot rewards at the end is part of that old antiquated gaming star wars does not need.

To further illustrate my point...
We have a game with a broad array of skills, combat, healing, crafting, scouting, etc. Yet the only skill thats ever taken into consideration for any dungeon is damage output. Why aren't there more avenues for players to overcome problems in non-combative ways? Why can't smugglers sneak around some encounters? Or chefs cook their way out? Or entertainers soothe their way out?
Jabbas court is a perfect example. The only way to gain entry is to kill stuff for him. No other skill matters. There is no choice, just one singular path. No right or wrong, just might. Why weren't back doors included that allowed for a sneaky character like the smuggler to prove his worth as a bagman and gain audience to Jabba's inner sanctum. Why couldn't someone cook their way into the crimelords heart? Why isnt there ever a need for replacement entertainers given his habit of dropping dancers into the rancor pit?
Instead of a ship thats pure combat, why isn't there a Casino Royal in space where players can gamble, hobnob with the jet set, maybe get involved in some espionage or political infighting, or do anything other than kill spearcarriers by the dozen?
It really says something about the maturity level of MOGs when no other viable solution beyond combat is considered as a fun diversion.
Indeed. There is a painful lack of imagination in coming up with these "dungeons"; furthermore, calling them "dungeons" is yet ANOTHER indication of a lack of imagination on the part of the developers. The "theme parks" at least give a different name to this sort of content; but getting out of the shoot-em-up braindead mindest that has totally dominated this game would be welcome.
Let's try something a bit more adult and not overactive 12 year old, devs.

Since this is a dungeon where only myself and my groupis allowed to go, will i be able to hide my FS-Char in there and level him up to Master Jedi whatever without being disturbed by Imperials and Bounty Hunters?
WTG!
A fun place to go and it is why i named myself CORVETTE well they would not let me use that so why i named myselfCRVETTE hehe (yes i do own some myself the cars that is)
Keep it up boys!
Nope. You have to all be the same faction. You can go with a mix of covert and overt, but not different factions.
