Thread: IT 7-16: New Dungeon The Corellian Corvette

Ok, I went up two times last night.

The first time with a group of about 5 people. We did alright through the first half and then people ended up getting separated, but all in all, we cleared out the Corvette and encountered several problems that made it impossible for us to complete it.

  • The Super Battle Droids that are factionally aligned Imperial (according to the symbol) agro'd me as a covert Imperial a few times. Enough to kill me once.

  • The codes for the bridge andboth officers quarters would not work at all at first. Several different people tried them and I personally tried them. Then I unlocked the prisoners door and only after that would the starboard (right hand side - looking forward) officer's quarters unlock. Then the bridge would unlock, but the port officer's quarters would never unlock. Neither would the room on the floor below through the large room with cargo containers all over.

  • None of the Engine Settings, Hyperdrive Controls, or Fuel Controls did anything.

We ran out of time, but it didn't kick us out or anything and we had exhausted all of our options so we decided to leave on our own.

The second time I went up alone. I was covert, so I was not attacked. Every door with a keypad automatically opened as I approached it, but the port side officer's quarters and the room through the cargo hold that has a locker in it would both kick me out as soon as I entered them. I figured there must be something important inthe locker in the lower room because it's the only place we hadn't been on our group attempt. I could see enough of the interior of the port officer's quarters to see that there seemed to be nothing in there.

Also you can type /open and see what the Rebel troops have on them. I assume this shouldn't be possible.

So a few questions...

  1. Is there an order that the doors must be unlocked in?

  2. Are there more codes hidden that we need to find? We scoured every inch that we could get into and only found 4 codes - bridge, officer's quarters x 2, and the prisoner's quarters.

  3. Do the security switches (meeting room and elevator) actually unlock the doors?

  4. What is the room with the locker in it called? I don't believe I ever saw a reference to it.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

First off, Lt. Sabol in Bestine appears to be bugged. While she gives you a ticket upon returning with the correct item for her, her conversation doesn't acknowledge that you've completed the mission and she attempts to send you back around again. After using my first ticket, I went back to try to grab another, and she started all over again by giving me the three locations. When I reached AH, the container gave me a message saying I'd already searched there. If she's supposed to restart my search for all 3 locations, she's not doing that. If she's supposed to just give me another ticket, she's not doing that. If she's supposed to point me to one of the other two NPCs, she's not doing that.

I don't know if it's been changed since this post, but she has the option to "reset my status of the mission" or something along those lines. If youget the message that you've already searched the crate, ask her to reset your missionfor you and go back again.

I'm also worried about one of the Imperial search locations, namely the Anchorhead Tavern. It seems ridiculously unfair that Imperials just have to travel from Bestine to Anchorhead to get a Corvette ticket, while both Neutrals and Rebels at the least have to travel a far-flung dungeon. It's possible to simply speak to the Lt. in Bestine, head over to AH, and search the container. If you get a food order, you can simply return to the Lt., pick up 100fp for the food order, quit the quest, restart, then search in AH again. Using this method, I was able to stockpile a large number of tickets in a short time period. Just moving the start for this search location to the Imp Oasis or the Emperor's Retreat would slow it down considerably. If you hit the shuttles right, you can have an Imperial ticket in under 5 minutes, even if takes you two tries.

They must have changed it during this downtime... Now you can only get one ticket, because in order to go back and get a new one, you must reset your mission status with Lt. Sobal and she warns that in doing so she would have to revoke your authorization to travel. So you get 1 ticket per trip.

Oh, I forgot one very important point...

  • I could not heal my overt group mate about half the time. In battle I tried healing him and got the unwise to help message and then later I was able to heal him several times and a little while after that I got the message again...

I have already asked this question, still waiting for an answer. If u can do that, I would consider that an exploit, i hope the devs do too.

If the Jedi on the ship is on the bh terms thebh should be able to shuttle straight to the same ship and hunt down the jedi on the ship, that would be well cool.

Can't be done, all jedi who are tracked in the corvette show up as in "dungeon1". You have to wait for them to come down (tested this last night)

There are still ways around that. I currently have a stockpile of four Imperial tickets and one neutral ticket, adding the neutral one to the collection last night after thethird downtime. I picked up three of those Imperial tickets, while covert, in about 15 minutes yesterday afternoon. Even if I was only restricted to one, that still means you can pick up an Imperial ticket in under 10 minutes with 0 threat, which doesn't seem to be what was intended.

So, the new mobs in this dungeon are extremely high heat resists as well?

this is why you should group... lets think of real life for a second... no ONE person is going to be able to board a heavily guarded ship and expect to survive, if they could that would crush the imersion for me... whats so wrong with doing this with a couple of friends?

It's not about soloing versus grouping. If you dont wear armor and have 2.5k buffs you can have a group of 50 and you'll still get one shot killed.

"It's your fault for not being equipped properly" you say.I'm a Trand. I have 4 big armor holes. When creatures are balanced to hit for 3k plus of damage because everyone has 80% resist armor I still get one shot incapped while buffed to the gills. The more they gear these dungeons toward makingthem challenging for their broken game designs (buffs and armor) the less fun it becomes for those of us who cant wear a full suit of armor. I dont see how anyone plays a wookie.

Well if this is going to be live this way and Jedi will be able to nearly permahide away from their hunters until they are Master there is nothing left for me (MBH) to do in this game, since the hope for Player-Jedi-Hunt was the last thing that kept my subscribing. *sigh*

Actually I wasn't goin g to say that ("It's your fault for not being equipped properly"). but anyway, I personally rarely ever buff and don't even ware a full suite of armor and I seem to manage in the dungeons ok. as long as I group with friends I'm fine, and rarely get incapped. and when I do I can easily be healed. and if I die lets hope we have a doctor in the house.

anyway I agree that they need content for all playstyles but atm group content IS a bit lacking...

Another day, another set of Corvette observations. I think I'm addicted to those white hallways. Anyway, it came to my attention that there are 3 different goals for the Corvette, and which one triggers completion depends on which NPC you acquired your ticket through. Thus, only one of the NPCs hands out the Sabotage the Engines quest (Velso for the Imperials), and so the "Nothing happens" message is "as intended" for Corvette quests taken through the other two NPCs. This is the kind of information it might be helpful to have in the future. It might also be helpful if the error messages on the engine components were more informative for missions where they're not needed, a "This function is not necessary for your current quest" sort of thing. Also, it'd be nice if there was a reminder when you boarded the shuttle of what your mission is, either through the Shuttle Pilot's dialogue or a system message to the group upon boarding the Corvette.

However, as of last night, the two locked doors described previously still prevented completion of the kill-everything question, since there were still 3 NPCs behind locked doors we couldn't get through to kill. The good news is the Battle Droids and Super Battle Droids are no longer factionally aligned, so they're fair game for everyone in the group. However, the cloning situation on board the Corvette still leads to a whole lot of unpreventable decay against unfactioned targets. Also, the neutral Corvette is missing Battle Droids completely, which significantly reduces the difficulty there.

Oh... Ok, thanks for this info. I had no idea that I was supposed to kill everything. I figured I had to sabatoge the ship since the computer onboard said that it was possible.

If we are supposed to kill everything onboard, how do we accomplish this when they respawn? Are they not supposed to or has it been changed so that they do not?
