No promises here, but I will try to make this my last post in this thread if there is no response forthcoming....

I just E-Mailed the following to those addresses listed above, thank you for them, I suggest others use them as well.

I am hodling out on cancelling my accounts until I see the official response. No response = No More accounts

Sadly, it seems to be true.

As I am sure you have already been made aware by now, of the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided has been made explicitly aware of sweeping changes in the development schedule of the game we are paying for with our monthly subscriptions. This bombshell announcement yet to be announced to the entire game community through the obviously and traditional method of using the game’s login screen know as ‘The Launchpad.’ In fact the last Launchpad announcement is, as of this e-mail, still the ‘Promotion of Thunderhart to Community Relations Manager.’ thread.

The bottom line seems to be that the development team is treating the upcoming expansion as its top priority and is shifting the majority of any development resources not already re-assigned to JTL away from so that JTL can ship in time for the holiday buying season.

This is very disturbing news to those of us who are interested in the ‘TURN-BASED RPG’ we purchased and pay for and are not in this ‘expansion’ which is in fact an entirely different ‘TWITCH-BASED SPACE COMBAT SIMULATION’ and not, in my humble opinion, what we are supposed to be paying for.

This decision desperately needs to be reversed, and the core game fixed prior to expansion, although admittedly there may be some other immediate-relief solutions that make a difference if they were actually implemented. (Ideas that are 6-12 months old)

Since it became clear late Friday that this was a bigger issue than most public outcries of past SWG notoriety, the discussion threads have grown to enormous sizes filled with heartfelt pain, rage, and in general the feelings one has when they have been deceived knowingly for a long time and finally realize it. Promises to accomplish what they are now postponing again until after JTL launches have been floating around on the forums since September. The first of these ‘announcement’ threads was archived without a response in (30 hours appx.) into a nice neat corner out of sight of any but those who dig. The follow-up thread has grown to half the size of the original already and considering it has been ‘locked’ without a word periodically, and considering that pages of ‘unwanted’ posts have been ‘expunged’ one might infer that it would be even larger if it had not been censored.

This is a dark time for the players of this game which has so much potential.

Help us turn this around. Help us a worthy response from the makers of this product.

It's deffinately time we do start honing our efforts.

What it boils down to is they'll only listen to our wallets and, indeed, not our keyboards. Well, maybe a mixture of both. Best we can do is hit cancel and tell them why. And, yes, even I stated a long time ago that we all agreed to sign on to the possibility of change in this game. But I think that 'believeable' change was what we were thinking when we signed on. Maybe a new weapon that we didn't see in the movies here or there; maybe a new player race that really is insignificant enough as to not imbalance the story that already existed. Jedi quite frankly *is* the problem the community is lashing out against. No, we don't hate the players behind the Jedi characters (unless, of course, the player gives us a reason to really hate them). It's more the content that has been blatantly ignored by putting them in this timeframe of gameplay that has unsettled us in combination of catering to that community of players before fixing things that were identified as needing fixed long before, "Oh, how can I unlock the fastest." became a hot topic.

Another fact is that even if 5000 of us end up cancelling over this. It doesn't matter in the larger picture. SWG will get new customers. However, if SOE is really sincere about making this the best massive player around; then communication with the player base is going to have to be stepped up a lot. And think outside of the box of just Test Center players as well. Given, their understaffed in what appears to be key positions. But content can be fixed and those accounts regained if JTL were delayed; combat balance bumped up to take it's place; divided Jedi/non-Jedi or different era servers and the like. Honestly, I'd like to see what George Lucas has to say about this game or some of the Lucas Arts people.

ALL my ITALICS were not shown on the forum, the 'HTML' code thing edited them out

But the EMAIL i sent had words like 'forum reading population' (as in ONLY WE GOT TO KNOW ABOUT THIS)

and the last line said 'demand a response' etc etc

That was silly, but you get the point....

What!? No response? Do you really care that little for your own customers that you don't even dignify them with a response? You know, this is *not* gonna cool down so you better step in and say something before this uproar spreads like cancer through the entire SWG community. The majority of the SWG players probably don't even know about these delays yet, but that can be taken care of.

I'm still as upset as I was on thursday, actually even more so due to you guys not having the balls to reply.

There is a lot of people in game that do not read the forums and dont know what is going on about CB and GCW. I've logged today to announce it to some friends in my guild. They were almost more disapointed than I am about this. Four of them will probably leave. If thought that it was a good idea to spread the word in game but the chat system was bugged and the conversation was very difficult...

*peeks in to look for changes, completely unsurprised to see none*

Three days to go and counting . . . and I sent my letter to PC Gamer today, explaining how these changes have affected the gaming community here and how it has been one string of false and misleading advertising after another to keep us paying, with plenty of examples from the Community Managers blatant falsehoods at the Fam Fest to Haden's new Expansion. I asked them to consider writing something on options for the MMO - gaming public for such situations, so that gamers can attempt to get what they pay for without having to hit cancel to get their point across. At the very least, they got plenty to write a follow-up review on.

Try 37 here plus the other 64 pages in the archived thread of the same title. That one was in about 36 hours, I believe.

Devs,

Countries expect comments from leaders during times of outrage.

Galaxies expect Dev comments after delaying the most important feature of the game.

We expect you to say something...
