reckoning of effort huh? i hologrinded through 18 profession, tons of badges and other missions. have everything i have been told to have to get an "instant" visit from the old man. nothing. no old man, no anything. my guildy however who has done nothing for holos or badges or tried anything got a visit already. he wasn't even glowing. i was. what's the deal with this system? crap is what i call it. like everything else.
He wasn't glowing and he got a visit? Something's not right there. You sure he was "exaggerating" to you?
positive. he is very honest and a good friend. he was NOT glowing. i am pissed. apparently there is no rhyme or reason. SOE is dragging us around by our ignorance and i am sure getting a big kick out of it.
Okay. I'm not trying to question anyone's honesty. I'm just saying to be sure because this will raise many feathers. It's obviously a bug, then. He may be disappointed to find that it may get snatched from him, if this visit was given in error.
As is understood now, you have to be at least glowing to get a visit. Interesting, to say the least...

i'm not trying to complain.....i dont really care all that much about getting the old man, i do however have a few concerns...
1. old man visits those that are glowy randomly
Huh?
Lord_Dorchadas wrote:sorry about the double post : it wasnt even finished....it just started going crazy on meanyway to finish my list i was going to say that the way it was handled for post 9 unlockers wasnt very fair......some of these guys are seeing all their friends go to the village while they are still waiting for the old guy to show up, they fulfilled all the requirements to attain jedi status in the time frame given and now they have extra work to do, not only do they have to wait for the old guy, get the sith, kill the other siths, and go to the village, do the first and last quest, do the padawan trials...etc. these guys have done more work than most to get where they are and granted they are being given the columns of FS skills, but they should have atleast been granted automatic entry into the village.....and for the 1-3 day thing; i think this is day 2 and some think its day 3, but the day pub 10 went live no one saw the old man...so my real question is this....how long should these post 9 unlockers wait for the old man before going to a higher authority.....1 more day? a week?.....they have already waited up to this point...where does it become an issue if they dont recieve their spawn?
It appears to be random, who gets the visit. This may not be what you want to hear, however, all the ppl who have had access so far generally still have weeks upon weeks of quests to accomplish. If you have to wait a week for a visit from the old man, then bamm ur in the village and bamm ur doing the exit quest and bamm ur a padawan, thats instant reward right there. The rest of us wont get the exit quest until October in some cases and thats only if we get in the village now.

You do not have to be glowy. You must glow under the new system. If his/her friend did 3 or more proff's then there is a chance you'd get a visit based on the old system. The visit might be early because 5 remeaning would mean the last group but still. I expected a visit later down the road and I am not glowy but I did do my 4 holo's plus a few other proff's.
Now if this person has Masterd < 3 proffs and is not glowy then there is no reason handed to us that would explain this.

I'd by quite happy if all you people who are complaining about this leave the game. They made it veyr clear from the development, way before beta, that they were going to restrict the number of Jedi in the game and stay at least close to the story line.
But now everybody and their dog thinks they have the right to be a jedi because they wrote some AFK macro and finished a bunch of professions just for the sake of finishing them? What ever happened to playing the game? First thing I do when I enter a cantina is look for somebody at the keyboard. They are the people I listen to and they are the people I tip. If you're AFK, you're a last resort only.
Maybe if all the people who are just 'grinding professions' leave the game, we'll be left with people who actually consider the game to be playing, not working.
Listen here you little nerf herder, sure you might be trying to call down the flames for posting that but well pleb, you got them. From your post you haven't got the brains of a meatlump thug. First of all, to be staying close to the story line, jedi wouldnt be running all over the city sparing in empire controlled cities (Bestine) or even where they are SURE to be seen..(Theed) The storyline was 2 Sith 1 Jedi (wannabe Luke) 1 Jedi muppet, and one old jedi teacher. No Jedi groups...Close to the story line would be 25 maybe of each side behind the scences...Not how many there are now.
For your second point, you're DARN RIGHT I think I deserve my jedi. Why? Because I did grind profession like you were SUPPOSE TO DO to unlock your jedi. Who gives you the right to say how I play the game? I pay my per month fee just like everyone else...If I want to set up a dancing player to AFK macro things I should be able to. AFK macroing is completely legal according to the ingame holocron. Did I completely enjoy every single profession I did? No, a few were more of work than fun, but I did it to try and find my silent holo. Do I care if little plebs like you dont tip me? Nope, wasnt doing my dance/music for tips. Was I afk all the time? Nope, but sometimes I was.
But AckarsCousin, I really dont remember them saying at ANY time they were going to limit..Sure maybe in the beginning before there were jedi when they thought it was going to be difficult for people to find the random selection of profession to do...Now, if they truely limit the jedi, they will be shooting themselves in the OTHER foot. They have made the unlock point after people become jedi..if they put a cap on this, they are capping how many people get a second character and that quite honestly would be the dumbest thing they could do.
As for what I would be quite happy about? If you, and all those like you (those who cry and whine that "Whaaa grinders have ruined the game...WHAAAAA A grinder is takin' all my business away from me..." would just shaddap, and leave the game.
Oh wait...you've made one post and Registered at 09-02-2004? What the heck do you know about this game? OH wait I know..you're hiding behind a new account so people who know you wont realise how much of a Rancors behind you are ![]()
would be pleased for an answer
