Ok, I will officially complain about this as well. THE HOLOGRIND SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN REWARDED (even though developers felt the need to promise that and cause more people to hologrind!)
I now feel I have wasted my time waiting for today to get here with some valuble changes!
My avatar is glowing and feels the force but I have to wait till the last group BECAUSE I DIDN'T BELIEVE IN THE FAULTY SYSTEM, but liked my professions.????????
You're gonna start losing casual players SOE

Why not just make more than one village so everyone can do them at the same time?

OMG!!!! i just logged on another character, mastered 13 professions, finished all the holocorn ones untill silent, have 64 total badges, been active acount since last fall, and find out he can barely sense the force within. WTH is that? I worked and got through to the silent holocorn, yet he is somehow in group 4 or 5??? this new system is even more fubar then the last, at least under the old system i was real close to unlocking, now i'm even farther away then some people who didnt even attempt to master professions for jedi or who jsut got the game this summer.......

After Playing since patch 3 caem out. I havn't gone around grinding like hell i been RP teh game done 4 classes and enjoyed it toek a break from the game for a few months as it got boring. come back to hear Jedi will be made easyier to get when patch 10 comes out. now i didnt holocons but i do play on 3 servers and have 2 accounts. i think its crazy making the ppl that act in RP instea dof grinding waiting for the Village to go quiet for the next lot of groups to come in. have teh devs seen how busy it got on TC2 i was on there when it started it was mad. Dath is already laggy think how much more it will be now and the village u warped around the place when u had to do thoses quests. the old man only came if u killed some creatures then traveled to a player city by shuttlered then traveled again to be attacked by the sith. So the game is about to lose lots of active loyal players due to the way the devs think is a smart way of thinking. If they do think that is.

Im a Post 9 unlocker, in you first post you say we automaticly qualify for a visit. But in your second post you tell us to wait a day or so. Well wich is it? because wait around a day or so dosnt sound to automatic to me.
And I quite frankly am sick of waiting!

If you did not grind, then do not cry about not having access. You knew what you had to do but did not do it. Simple as that. Deal.

Everyone please repeat after me:" THIS IS JUST A GAME" For those of you who took days off from your real life world and now are crying foul because you weren't handed the golden gooseon a silver platter that is just stupid on your part.
So what if you didn't get a warning 2 days before the release. If you had you would be whining that you should have gotten a notice five days before the release. It has been common knowledge that Pub 10 would go live by the end of August. Guess what, its the end of August and the system has gone live.
For those of you now complaining that you didn't hologrind profs before because you wanted to stick with your character concepts, great! But, that meant you didn't want to do what it took at the time to be a jedi but now you just want it handed to you for free because you've been playing the game the longest?
I commend SOE and the devs for trying. No, it will not please anyone, but then what changes would have? The exisiting jedi wanted something nearly impossible so few could join them. The jedi want-to-bes want it something they can do in a weekend. So what is the compromise? Answer: Pub 10. Deal with it people, this is the system. So what if you have to wait weeks? Is your whole game experience based around becoming a jedi? What do you plan on after getting there? If you can't enjoy playing the game for weeks without being a jedi, what are you going to enjoy for weeks doing after you become a jedi?
People, this is a game. It is only a game. Yes, we do pay money to play the game, but guess what, if it upsets you so much then stop paying and stop playing. Find another game. The fact is this is an evolving game system, guaranteed to always upset a segment of the playing population as it does grow and change. Cursing out the devs because they didn't design it around making you a jedi first is just stupid. No matter how the system was going to be changed, it was going to benefit certain groups more than others. This is a no win situation for any game.
One last time: THIS IS JUST A GAME.
To Thunderheart and all the devs, great job on making the hard decisions.

Im one of those people who started the holo grind only to be bored out of my mind, so I stopped as soon as I heard rumors of quests. Ive waited 8 months, I can deal and wait one more.
I will say that anything that requires a random spawn, aka the Hero of Tatooine quests and now this old man, is completely rediculous and a waste of time for any player. I cant believe i pay to sit here and look at my screen as nothing happens.
But fear not, the countdown is on until Middle Earth Online comes out.
I do have a question though, which won't be answered im sure. If i have the inner glow, the force is with me, does that mean I should be ready for a visit from the old man? I know won't be able to start the village stuff as I am still in the 1-4 group range, but I want to know if I should waste more time staring blankly at my money being flushed down the proverbial toilet.

I had friends unlock on 7 professions while I grinded profession after profession thinking I was cursed to never unlock. You didn't even have the decentcy to tell us that the system had changed.
This is offensive to me as a customer. If I go to Walmart and try to buy a game which is labeled at $50. I expect to pay $50. Now in SWG we don't even have a price. You made a Walmart where the items are 5 miles away from the checkout and the only way to purchase it is to take a random amount of money and offer it to them. If they say that isn't enough you have to walk back, grab another of the same item, a different amount of money, and return to make another offer. During the travel process you change the price because too many people have bought the item.

Ok heres my thing . . .
Through out this whole grind crazy mayhem the people who are getting screwed are the ones who play the game the most and have missed out on the enjoyment the game has to offer. Changing the number of professions w/o telling anyone and to keep insisting nothing has changed is just a blatant and flat out lie. I for one while i was grinding could almost count what number you upped the capp to, watching people go from 8 to 15 to 22 and now 29-32 profesions being just one or two steps behind. All this talk about credit? yeh I want credit 6 months of it, while I am sitting playing this game being assured nothing has changed while the whole system is changing by the week. Now lets talk about the people who unlocked before 9, they didnt have to sit and wait for some old man to come and visit them, nor did they have to do some intro and exit quest to be able to craft and start using a lightsaber, But not only that they were not forced to make their main character into a jedi sacraficing what ever lifestyle they lived before in this game. If I am to understand this whole new system the post 9 pre 10 unlockers will have to not only do the old man intro, exit quest they will have to complete the padawan trials before they are even allowed to hold a lightsaber. Anways now we are all sitting here pub 10 with more sketchy information which is only making people more and more angry, and here the old man has yet to pay anyone a visit. At best you can tell us go ahead and play the game, he will show up eventually? This is complete BS

only done 12 profs and i know i didnt do all my know holo profs (dancer at least)
so i'll be a group 4 person and will get a visit about april 2008 if i'm lucky
the easiest way to become a jedi for me is to cancel my sub for 6-8 months until everyone else is a jedi then have a go 
nice way to reward those people who aint holo grinded but picked a template and stayed with it
