While very relieving to finally know how things were happening under the old system, I'm a bit distressed about the highlighted portion of the quote above. I can understand why this is going to be the case, as anyone who went on TC2 knows (the lag was awful!), it still upsets me a bit to see this is the way it is going to happen.

The question I have about this is: You have said "When enough people have completed their path, we will open it up the village to the next group." If I am in group 4, am I looking at around 30 weeks before I am able to go to the village? That number (30) is based on:

The credit you will receive is…

6 Force Sensitive branches will be granted <----1 week

5 Force Sensitive branches will be granted <-----3 weeks

4 Force Sensitive branches will be granted <-----6 weeks (2 phases)

3 Force Sensitive branches will be granted <-----9 weeks (3 phases)

2 Force Sensitive branches will be granted <-----12 weeks (4 phases)

1 Force Sensitive branch will be granted <31 weeks total from above.

If this is the case, then there are going o be a lot of REALLY, REALLY pissed off people, waiting around for their "turns" to get into the front door. I hope this isn't the case, but we'll just have to see.

You're assuming they'll only allow the next group in on a cycle change... seems more like they'll just allow it when there's not so many people coming thru, independant of the cycle timing. Some of you just need to relax, if you want your jedi bad enough you'll get it. Just not today, so chill out.

What you people seem surprised that they have been lieing to us about the number of professions needed.....Lol I said at Xmas time the free holos were a smokescreen and now you witness the veracity of my comments.......Look at the al powerful level 10 droids that we can make to see how well the game follows the storyline.....another lie......that was the second smokescreen and a day after that publish...the only really good idea that they have put in the game was removed after only one day...thus allowing the youth in the game to see a system Lenin promoted...where noone is allowed to gain more through perfection and hard work. And the final stroke of death is the players that get penalised by the game because they dont want to play imps....I am sick and tired of being knocked off my bike for an equipment inspection when it would be stupid not to used a sliced weapon for some small advantage that a surveyor needs just to run his harvesters...just because I am not an imp...that little trick alone has cost you 4 of the 5 accounts I have maintained with you from the beginning.....and this one will bite the dust too after he 6 months I subscribed for to save a buck....is terminated......I would like to think EQ II will be better...but having watche SOE do the same thing in that broken game as they will do here and have allready done....nerf the heck out of their own foulups...on to better things...enjoy all

TH if i automaticly qualify - where is my Old Man?

Just go about your business and he will visit you in a day or so

Wow. even those that 'automatically qualify' will have to wait 'a day or so'...? And those of us that arent automatically qualified will have to wait for a 'week or so' ? Or a 'month or so' maybe? Can these answers be anymore incomplete? We dont want excuses for why you havent been here. We want clear consice answers.

A Fix for SOE...

Here is how you fix this mess you have gotten yourself into.

1. Allow the boxes just as you have with novice brawler, medic ect...This way you are not forcing people to do quests they dont want to do.

This will stop the traffic on Dantooine and alot of the complaining you have on the forums now.

FOR GRINDED PROFESSIONS.

You have to unlock 24 box's for the padawan trial.

For every profession you have mastered you should give them +1 free box.So:
24 professions = 24 box's.
For every box over 24 they get you should allow 1 free FS box. For a total of 32 if the person would like to do that.

Why not do it this way...There are no "special" groups..There is no extra server lag. We would still have to work hard for Jedi...really hard...Why not do it this way?

HAHAHAHAHAA Wait you say? Well maybe if I wasnt paying $15 a month. But since I am, I can call it how I see fit. I'm not waiting 6 months or $90 to just start my quests. Maybe you should learn that if people quit you lose business. Customer is always right!!! I will sue SOE just for saying I can play a jedi. I cannot and wont be able to for months. Put on the dang box that it will take you $180(12months) to get a jedi.

OK TH, lets say somehow those of us in groups 3 or 4 manage to get lucky enough and the village filters out, and in 2 weeks we get access to the village, we're all happy and dancing, then the phase shifts a weeks later what happens then? Do you deny our access to the village again so that everyone from group 1 and 2 and those that are waiting for a specifc phase to unlock a certain skill can go back in, the way I'm seeing it is that those of us in the later groups really aren't going to be able to access the village until those in the groups before us are totally done with the village. Which means we really will have to be waiting months before we can even access it, RETHINK THE SYSTEM DEVS!!!!!!!!!! You yourself said the hologrinding system was ruining the game, don't punish us long time veterans who chose not to follow it!

First, let me say, I know there are many burning questions in the community and Im feverishly working on them all. My absence was due to a long campingweekend. We got rained out so bad it was like camping in a Dantooine downpour and I caught a nasty chest cold. The summit followed up and now Im catching up. Expect information to cover the credit issue, publish feedback threads then a holobits about the summit and then Im heading back into my hut to polish up the Combat Balance docs. For those who were eager to see those as a Friday Feature, they probably will be, but we made some changes based on board feedback and had to delay the post a bit...

TH, is there any way we can tell what "village access" group we are in?

There isn't a hard and fast rule, but there is a solid correlation based on how many professions you completed. For instance, if you finished 31 professions, there is a extremely strong likelihood you'll get 5 branches unlocked. If you finished 29 or 30 professions, you most likely will get 4 branches and so on. Beyond that there is no hard and fast way to tell. Though like I said, there is almost a direct correlation between how many total professions (32)were completed and how many holo-professions were completed.

This is NOTan answer to his question! Not even relating to his question!

He, and I, would like to know what group we are in to get access to the Village.

In addition, you have said in the Old System, we had 5 silent professions, then added 3 to make 8 silent. So, what happens if i managed to do 3 of the 5, then you changed the rules to 8. Did you add 3 more to my un finished silents so now i have 6? You follow me??

I mastered 3 professions before holocrons. Opened 2 holos then went silent. Did 14 more professions after that.

So, have I done 4 holo professions? just 2?

Im assuming, bad thing to do, that i have maybe 2 or 3 of my silents done if im under the 5 silent rule.

I see by the large red font posts that a few people are slightly miffed at the path of the Jedi. I think it's fair. Not following the jedi path myself i can only look at it from a Droid Engineers point of view and say that it looks like fun.If i one day decide to follow the Jedi path, i know i will like the trek to the title of Padawan and the ever increasing greatness of the Jedi ranks above me.

This holo-credit is an excellent idea, reminds me of the first and last holocron i ever got and it was master artisan. Nice to know il start off slightly higher than a few people if i ever decide to. And for the guys and gals who want Jedi Knight here and now, all i can say is thatBestine wasnt built in a day.

Of course, if you qualify for the visit under the new system, you will automatically be granted a visit from the old man.

Always.

Can you expand & clarify on this?

I think a lot of people have been waiting for any content in the game & since the Village most closely resembles content gating people will just annoy & frustrate them into cancelling, some people have waited a year for content
