Thread: Friday Feature Errata... Part 2...

About collision: Dev already said it will be on with the new combat system in another thread.
About ranged heal: combat medic do that very well.
You fail to answer her question: If a Doc is in the back lines and their heals are limited to 5 meters, just what will they be accomplishing back there? Anyone caught /dragincap'ing someone is KD'd/dizzied on my server..(BTW: About that part about docs 'running away' while they're TEF'd: yeah, that's what I want to do, not heal or rez anyone for 5-10 mins at a time.. **edit**?)
As for Collision: This from the same devs that promised the January patch would be about droids, that PvP decay was gone and that publishes are MONTHLY.. LOL, yeah, right..

Sorry to Hear TH had to take the blame again for a design decision. I personally KNOW TH Cares, but some people see him as an information dispenser where they can push his buttons 24/7 and get back info about upcoming stuff.
And like with dispensers, when it doesn't work to their liking, they kick it and beat it around until it DOES work and give them the right info. TH is a real lvie person with feeling, let's make sure we don't break him, cuse he's a VERY valuable asset, hmm'kay?
Thanks
I understand you guys get frustrated and I can handle that, just try to help me think through challenges so we can get really good answers to challenge the devs with. FWIW, I do care very much and the reason this came up today is I went BACK into the pit to get this decay thing worked out.(and let me tell you, people hereare starting to groan when they see me coming....
).
Here is the important thing. There is a huge community for this game. Roughly 20-25% of the game community come by the boards and roughly 10-15% post regularly.
*inserts sap and corn*
If we make this a nicer place to be, more and more people come to the forums and get involved, conversations become more interesting and stimulating. We really can work through this to make this the most fun game possible and the best forums, but it takes time and cooperation.
*rolls up sleeves*
Im not going anywhere, how about you?
They'd only have made the 'right' choice if he'd actually ANSWER questions instead of replying to 'soft' questions/posts..

sounds good to me...
Ok...
You start trickling out Publish 6. Decay removal from PvP was mentioned about a MONTH ago, now all of a sudden it's a communication error? Then what was all that crap you were saying, TH?
If a faction item can be purchased that removesdecay from factiondeath, then anything that TH posted in response to the no decay in PvP removal is bogus. Am I wrong in this assumption? I doubt it.
I am still unimpressed. I tire of your communication errors and TH's half-cooked, shooting-from-the-hip excuses when he is caught with his pants down. It's a common pattern around her to screw up like this I am noticing. Don't tell me I need to be constructive when you guys (devs and TH) are the ones getting everything wrong. The players put forth the effort in the form of ideas and in the sheer tolerance of your lack of service.
So, Publish 6 is due out, and the only thing it provides is some rebel grief. Is that all? Here's an idea. Hotfix the faction day pass. Why? Because someone, I don't care who, but someone lied over there about decay removal from PvP. I could care less for your stories about what went wrong, I don't buy it. Fix it like you said you were going to a MONTH ago and the problem is solved.
It won't happen. Why? You guys are deadset in your ways, or godforbid, it's a lot of coding. So don't gie me the, "It takes time," nonsense. You had time. You had time to tell us about your supposed "communication error," you had ALL the time you needed to get it right, but it's as if you refuse to get it right.
You wanna know why this game won "Coaster of the Year Award"? It's because of the nonsense such as your previous Friday Feature Part 1. it's because TH won't STOP and get correct information, he instead makes replies about something he obviously doesn't know about, then we have to go through this whole appology process yet again, then we are right back where we started... The players distrust you (devs, TH), the players get angry and leave...rinse and repeat...
Here is the development cycle, the pattern I am seeing over and over.
In Concept: Decay is being removed PvP, Imperial Crackdown planning and the Droid Invasion.
In Development: Decay in PvP is being removed and the Imperial Crackdown begins, but due to a communication blunder, theDroid Invasion won't begin until Publish7(The masses rejoice except the DE's)
In Test: Decay is still being removed and the Imperial Crackdown is be readjusted to be more fun for everyone. DE communication still in progress. (Even more rejoicing, except DE's)
In Live: The much waiting for Publish is being trickled out. Last minute change, decay upon PvP is suddenly not possible because of...oh, whatever...we're just not implimenting it. Droid Communication Continues. (Everyone, including the DE's are not angry)
Now, for the final, non-formal part of the development cycle...
The Apology: Sorry, we miscommunicated again, so any problems that Publish (6) caused, and a factional combat day pass, will be added in Publish (7).
Over and over and over and over...
This is why people leave, this is why many many of your customers (including me if you haven't noticed) are angry, fed-up and just out of patience with you (devs, TH).
Can we finally get somewhere? Or are we going to continue this development cycle?...
You whiners stop crying about the decay ...Well in real life when you insure something it doesnt decay? Well for one this isn't real life and two if it was real life and you did have some incredible armor that was individually custom made for you what are the chances that you are somehow going to get this duplicated,it just doesnt happen that way.
Luckily we are going to get a combat balance soon so pvp will be fare and a little more realistic and strategic not relying on some half a million credit suit of composite or stacked up skill tapes simply bought. Its a joke if your armor is gone go buy some more or else fight like a man or woman respectively and use some skills not rely fabricated talent .
/equip world'ssmallest violin
Btw thanks TH for all your time putting up with the crybabies it is true about half the people in these forums use them to vent and the other half plus the 75% are enjoying the game.
Oh and think about the decay this way when you die you are getting a whopping death blow so its pretty realistic to have some more than average damage from one of those dont you think? !% seems fair.

(I posted this in the original thread, but I am afraid it will get overlooked.)
Folks,
I have to step in, as Senior Producer, and take some responsibility here. The 1% decay removal was communicated to TH. We then revoked that change without telling him. He posted erroneous information to you, and it is my fault. I have apologized profusely to him, and now I am doing so to the community.
Here is why we revoked that change:
We want the GCW to be everything it can be. We want factional PvP to be fun and exciting. We understand that as players, you don't want the 1% decay. We think it is an important game mechanic in the right situations, but we want to remove it from factional battles.
Our plan is, in the next publish (NOT Imperial Crackdown, which is due soon, but the following publish) to have a factional perk that you can purchase with faction points. This perk will give you 24 hours of no decay on insured items for factional deaths.
Now as to your harsh words and attitude towards Thunderheart... I understand your frustration. But you have to know that every morning, the first person I talk to is TH, to find out about the current hot issues. He comes with us to almost all of our high-level meetings and represents "the voice of the players". He has tremendous passion for the game, and for you, and for his job. He fights for your issues, heart and soul, day in and day out. His job is to know your desires and represent them to us. And I think he does his job **edit** WELL.
It kills me to see how harsh some of the player population is towards him, because I know in no small part, we are responsible for any misinformation that you receive from him. No one is perfect, and things happen very rapidly from time to time. Miscommunications are going to occur. Don't kill the messenger. Please be forgiving, or direct your wrath towards a more guilty party (me).
Again, my deepest apologies for any misinformation regarding item decay from PvP. I take full responsibility. We love this game, as you do, and want it to be everything it can be. With your help, we will get there.
Best,
- Gary
If you can "understand" we don't want decay, as you said and I highlighted, then give US, the PAYING GAMERS, what we ask for. Without US, YOU won't have a job.......
Completely disgusting and unacceptable....
