imperial player are still better at smugging then a master smuggler. as the imp can get busted but will not suffer for it will the master smuggler can face death? VERY BAD. 12 bucks a month

watching dev wack away with the nerf bat then think about their actions after the fact . PRICELESS

I just found idiotic post #2

Your first line about not being able to tell sliced items from unsliced, I agree with...

but uhhh

I really think you need to learn whatthe termnerf really means... Tell me how is this a nerf?

  • Smugglers before this patch couldn't smuggle anything, regardless...

  • The TEF/Overt penalty for Rebels was the original crackdown implementation for Rebs...

  • Only a Rebel Smuggler could face death, and in essence they are at this instance viewed very badly as both a Terrorist and a Criminal by the Empire. Not just any Smuggler can face death

  • An Imp cannot give it's bonuses to scan prevention in a group like a smuggler can. And let's be perfectly honest here, how many people are going to trade their contraband to an Imp every time they travel? But it's more plausible to pay a smuggler to group with you for a bit, so you can prevent a scan from occurring.

Lastly, the server is spelled

KETTEMOOR

Its called Imperial crackdown its meant to be tough on Rebels. Maybe we're get Rebel fight back in another patch. But just accept that this patch is designed to be tough on Rebels. I think its great that it actually adds some purpose for rank.

I can't.... I just can't TAKE the ignorance some of you people have displayed in your posts!

I have seen SEVERAL posts about "exploit! Imps will follow rebels in IMP cities and kill them when they are TEF'd!!!Nerf nerf nerf!!!111"

You guys are idiots... first of all, that's not how it works. Second of all, if a rebel is STUPID enough to be in an IMPERIAL city with CONTRABAND then they DESERVE to be killed by Imperials PC's

If you don't think so then you abviously are NOT interested in playing a Star Wars game so I suggest you go back and play piece-of-**edit** junk like Everquest and stop trying to ruin the continuity of a freaking STAR WARS GAME.

as to the rebels saying "forced into PvP whaaaaa!" shut the HELL up!

Covert is LIMITED PVP, you signed up, you PvP damnit! Freaking nuetral Rebels need to get with the program or resign and become nuetral.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF SANITY READ THE ENTIRE POST AND THINK ABOUT WHAT IT WILL DO, DON'T START THROWING WHINES AT EVERY SHADOW!!!!!

"Well, why are ya feudin'?"

The posts in here from rebel aligned characters follow a rather circuitous form of logic. You wanted to play the 'oppressed' underdog character, but you want no detriments? You don't want to risk a possible run in with an imperial probot, but you declared rebel?
There are, frankly, many different ways to avoid getting caught. First and most obviously - don't use sliced equipment, don't carry spice. Alternatively, hang out in player cities or rebel dominated cities (do you really think imperials are going to be hanging out in rebel cantinas waiting for a covert reb to get a tef from a search? Especially when you take in to consideration that not only are the searches random, but the chances of finding contraband (even if they have it on them!) is a dice roll.

And you know, nothing is forcing you to play rebel - play neutral if you only want PvE. play imperial overt if you want to ensure you never get a tef from a search (but seeing as how you're overt already at this point...)

It certainly seems to me as if people are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Why don't you see how this plays out before decrying the latest attempt by the devs to improve the game.

The amount of whining in these forums, before a change has even gone in, is overwhelming.

OMG! This is awsome! Finaly us High Ranking Imperial Officers get recognition! As it should be!

The changes are good in many ways. For one, you're correct that it rewards High Ranking Imp Officers.

But secondly, this also ENCOURAGESmore Imp players to be Overt.... this means a huge boost to the PVP and a huge boost to the immersion of the GCW.

Thirdly, grouping with or socializing withsmugglers is now strongly encouraged.

RedVenom, I can't own a house in KotR, but I can in SWG. I can mine stuff, make stuff, fight, harvest, do missions, kill Stormtrooper NPCs, kill Rebel NPCs, go fishing, go exploring, chat with people, run silly macros spamming all the time, dance, play an instrument, PvP.....do anything I want, and do it at my chosing at my level of enjoyment. This game is NOT all about PvP, it's about all the stuff I just listed. If I wanted to PvP all the time, I can just go play Counter Strike, Medal of Honor, or Aliens vs. Predator. Or I can play NWN on a full PvP server or Star Craft. SWG offers more choices. It's my choice how I should play and IT SAYS SO right when you start.

For the record... if anyone cares... I am fullyin support to more power for the imps / less for the rebs.... rebs have won both story arcs now... and that's just silly... we are supposed to be the underdog... I'm glad you guys got some new NPCs in Bestine etc.

BUT

OVERT HIGH RANKING IMPERIAL SHOULD IN NO WAY > MASTER SMUGGLER

Please tell me where you see this, I agree if you are doing faction missions and are Overt or get caught with a TEF, you deserve to PvP, it's the choice YOU made. Being out hunting with people and getting scanned and getting a TEF and then having to avoid all the blue dots you see because they can be Overt Imperials is NOT a choice you made, it's PvP being FORCED onto you.

So why can't you do these things without being a rebel?
Either PvP is worth picking a side (and yes, experiencing the benefits/detriments of having done so), or it's not and you should stay neutral.
You can choose how you want to play, but by choosing rebel, you may be putting yourself in a position where you might have to fight your way out of some situations a neutral wouldn't. you CHOSE that.
