Thread: Publish 6 Feedback: Creature Handlers & Pets
As a side note, is there any way to program creatures to not run into water? Running is a survival instinct, but running into water is a death sentence (especially if your attacker has ranged weapons). While four NPCs unload with spammed specials, my gurreck is heading out to sea. "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming," while he's getting pegged with blaster fire.
TH,
Is this gonna get hot-fixed fast?
or is it getting fixed in the next publish?
(MCH is pretty unplayable right now; I'd call it a game-breaker worthy of a hotfix)
Laelus, please edit your sig. That rebel warcry thing of yours really messes up the format of the forums...
This is ridiculous, today, i did about 30 sets of 2 missions each, that's about 60 missions, and my pet and/or vehicle disappeared ONCE EVERY set, that's right, as well as having to find a place to put up a camp (which generally disappeared every 20 or so camps). The fact that this "squeezes" through is retarded. I usually never complain, in fact i've been here since launch, and i only have 100 or so posts. But this is stretching my patience, come on SOE EVERY SET OF TWO MISSIONS my pets and vehicle would disappear at least once, sometimes twice.
I've been using wild, tamed Greater Sludge Panthers, cl 25, i have 3 i alternately siwtch in and out.
In addition to all the things I see listed above, how about fixing the "marriage penalty" when grouped with a pet? I like to group with my pets so I can monitor how they're doing in combat, like any good Creature Handler, but it makes no sense that I get penalized for this when it comes time to harvest resources. What's the rationale here? Are we supposed to understand that grouped creatures eat up to half of the bone, hides, or meat?
On an upside, I am seeing a small improvement in the cozy pets and the "running all over hell" instances, but, admittedly I'm not using cats at present. Lately, they've been a waste of time to use.
Ever since the big AT-ST nerf ive had trouble getting my pets to attack in PvP. This includes my AT-ST, they will sometimes engage and other times they do not listen to attack commands. If this is related to status effects then are the pets supposed to attack after the effect wears off? For example: ive heard that wookie roar will delay your pet from attacking. When the delay is over should the pet then attack? Should my AT-ST also be effected by the wookie roar? Whatever the awnser, my creature and faction pets seem more likely to follow me than to attack in a PvP situation.
Before the AT-ST nerf in december where they could only be used on faction targets I didnt have this trouble with my creature pets, now they tend to react just like my AT-ST reguarding factioned targets.
After publish 6 my AT-ST often will retreat 50m back and then turn and shoot...as if he was under minimum range and needs to distance himself.
I have no BE pets. im an all natural kinda guy
My Issues....
I am experiancing the following problems...
1. Pets randomly disappear (sometimes in combat, sometimes not). This means i can no longer see them, they disband from the group, but do not go back into my data pad. I have to manually store them before i can call them again (and on rare occasions i cannot store them at allunless i log out anddo a full scan.)
2. Pets randomly do not follow, or just stop following. For whatever reason, pets that are grouped, guarding me and told to heel will just stand there, or when travelling in the wild will just stop. I notice often if i am constantly using the tab key to cycle between possible targets, and use the ~ key to bring up the radial menu, pets are more likely to stop following, but still happens at other times.
3. pets will occasionally stop responding to any voice commands, until i bring up their radial menu, which displays half the menus and then has a delay before bringing up the rest of the menus. once the full radial menu comes up the pet begins responding again.
4. pet growth not following any kind of regular rules, seems to be totally random. i have one pet that is still level 7 of 18 after several months, and i have others that have grown 24 levels overnight!
All the above happen to all my pets. my most used pets are grauls, Klicknick Warrior, Brackaset male, gsp, giant sand beetle, war gronda, giant crystal snake. all are tamed from the wild, and all have had it happen from babies up to fully grown.
