Is it just me, or is it that most of the dev supporters can't spell worth crap?
I guess simple grammar is the product of the kind of simple mind that would support these people.
Ha. If CC Corp from .Hack were real, I'd trust them more than I trust SOE. And their games put people into comas.

I'd just like to add my voice to the hundreds of others expressing outrage over the way the Old Man and the Village has been implemented. Whatever possessed you to give Hologrinders a double reward, as they are getting right now? Was it not enough that they get free branch unlocks and fsxp (which they deserve) now they get to go to the village before the rest of the player base (which they do not deserve).
Last I checked, when content is put into an MMORPG it exists so that the players/subscribers of said MMORPG can USE said content. I pay the same monthly fee as those hologrinders and now, because I didn't do something that was HARMFUL TO THE GAME, I am barred from content that I am currently paying for. This is completely and utterly unacceptable. It would be better if the Village were lagged out and Dathomir were crashing, at least I knew when I signed up for the game that high server loads are always a possibility. I don't, however, shell out the monthly fee to be barred from an area or even put in LINE for an area.
I qualify for an Old Man visit. 5+ hours online and I still haven't gotten one. TH has not answered any of our questions about this grouping mechanism and, let's face it, he never will. The bottom line is that if I went into any other game and discovered that content that I was paying for was prohibited EVEN THOUGH I FULFILLED ALL THE QUALIFICATIONS TO ACCESS THAT CONTENT I would quit just as fast as I could log out. *Sigh* As it is, I have a lot of time invested in this game and so I, like most others who are (justifiably) histrionically spewing disappointment all over the boards, will just wait. That said, JTL better be the best thing since sliced bread, or SWG will go the way of Earth and Beyond.

Just my two cents on the entire jedi revamp in my eyes...
Me and my friends who are jedi have worked our behinds off grinding 30+ professions in the game to unlock our jedi slots before publish 9. We spent hours upon hours infront of the computer to become jedi. Becoming a jedi was well worth the work we did to get them because they are supose to be an elite profession in the game, we are super strong, we can run fast using the force, and our sabers do alot of damage. We earned those abilities because we took the hours upon hours in the game to be allowed to be the strongest. What burns us is, the lazy 99% of the population who complains that they arent able to kill a jedi one on one with thier master TK master Brawler master swordsman template wants to be able to kill us because they put in a whole weeks worth of melee grinding to become the 2nd best template in the game. The top 1% of me and my jedi friends earned this, and now the jedi profession is nerfing ground central because we are out numbered by a world of complainers, force run revamp is horrible, a 97.5% reduction in damage is unheard of. That is overkill on so many levels it makes me sick.
Secondly, the FRS is garbage plain and simple. You promised a significant increase in FRS from killing other jedi and as it was put 50 more points for killing a jedi is crap. I have had my jedi since december, I've killed maybe 4 jedi total because every jedi can run away with force run 2 or 3 and make it to a lake and live while swimming there. You had your reasons, yes jedi were going around killing overts everywhere so they could get FRS. Tough louck to those people who died while being unbuffed and overt, its the way the game is run, you go overt you better be ready to fight. You get teffed from doing imperial or rebel themeparks, you better be ready to defend yourself. Now the game is basically punishing everyone who unlocked thier jedi because the hours you put into unlocking made you too strong, you should be weaker than a TK/Swordsman because more people are that than jedi. Every jedi knight becomes overt and at the point is ready to fight when needed and run when needed, you work hard to get sentinel and now more than ever to keep those ranks you have to kill jedi to keep those ranks of sentinel and beyond, it's impossible.
The devs have one thing on thier side on this revamp, it makes 99% of the lazy population on the server who didnt want to become a jedi because its too much work, it makes them happy because now you can just grind for a week to become a TK swordsman and kill jedi or make them run away from you in a heartbeat. The devs screwed over alot of the hard working people in this game who wanted to become jedi and spent the time doing it, and now are the target of all nerfs to make us weaker so we can be just another profession in the game. But like i said, thank god SOE wont lose much money if all the jedi who worked hard to unlock quit because of stupid jedi revamps. Because 99% of the population will be happy that their hard 1 week melee grind will be supreme again.

Well devs, I hope you're happy. Many, many people have been long awaiting this patch, and your lies and broken promises amongst other things have pissed off the customers way too much. We don't pay you 15 bucks a month for lousy customer service. I've gotten better customer service from "once-and-done" pay games (i.e. never have to pay for it again after it's bought). We buy your game for fifty dollars and pay you an additional 15 a month just to play. IMHO, this 15 dollars should at least give us some quality assurance and customer care. But we yet sit atop this mountain of broken trust. I think you're all laughing your asses off as you expose the community to this bull**edit**. All we ever get out of our questions are vague responses and shady half-truths, if truths at all, spare for the rare holobit. You guys are laughing your asses off watching us run around in the wilderness (In my case hiking from city to city for a good hour or two) waiting to be encountered by the old man. I have the glow, I should now be approached. I dont think it should matter how many profs I've grinded or not. That was the old system this is the new one. Deal with it. Hologrinders already get their skillbranches for free. You're trying to control the ammount of people in the village by putting us in groups of some sort... which only makes the process even more unclear. I heard the process was going to be hard. I can do hard (this goes for the length of the grind too). But WAITING to grind? WHO CAN THIS POSSIBLY APPEASE!? Are the dev's just trying to kick back their heads and roar with laughter as they oversee us frantically running around in the wilderness trying to get approached? I don't see anyone else here. Must be you guys.

lol, i wouldn't have gone with that template... cause I beat down jedi all the time for fun, then eat them for breakfast, then some for dinner... and I'll even snack on a padawan for desert.... MWHAHAHAHA, oh, P.S.- I only beat down dark jedi of course, hehehehehe

You people need to learn how to read... This whole old man thing isn't very complicated...
There are 2 ways to be eligible for a visit from the old man...
1. The old system - Holos.. plain and simple.. just like TH said.. if you have done 32 professions and unlocked, REGARDLESS of what /checkforcestatus says, you will be getting a visit.
2. The new system - The glowy badge system - TH said very specifically that if meet the new requirements then you are eligible.. this is where /checkforcestatus comes into play.. it was meant for the NEW SYSTEM, not the old holo system!!!
How hard is that to ascertain?
Now, as far as "I got 32 professions done and now I have to wait 3 months??" NO LEARN TO READ BEFORE YOU SAY STUPID THINGS..
If you are in one of the "groups" or you think you are, and you don't have the glowy status, GET TO BADGE COLLECTING AND QUIT COMPLAINING!
The only thing that the holo-grinders get that non-hologrinders get is free FS trees to reflect the number of holos they have completed.. if you've done 30 professions, congrats, you don't have to wait that long to get your last tree or two.. if you haven't done any holos, get to badge collecting...
Also, if you can't wait a day or two for the old man, then you seriously need to think about getting some professional help.. you waited 2 days, 2 days ago.. now you KNOW he'll be coming soon.. if you aren't sure, once again, GET TO BADGE COLLECTING..
