There's an easy way to get 89 pages on a thread. Here's my "dev thread emulator"
Feel free to try this at home:
1.) Open M$ word or some other full document editor.
2.) Type the phrase "I don't want to take the time to read your whole post Mr. Dev, and I'm so excited about this that I want you write it out in simple talk answering only this one question that I know you answered in original post, but I'm really mad/excited."
3.) Highlight this with you rmouse.
4.) Press Control+C
5.) Press Control+V until the page count is suitably impressive.
Now rant at it.
When your done, go to page one of this thread and read it. Sloooowwwwllllyyyy. maybe read it more than once.
Loool. I'm not aiming for 90 pages of thread specifically (though I think that'd be quite cool if we could officialy get a badge for the having participated in the longest thread ever).
What I want (after having put some thought in it) is :
- to get rid of that stupid group system that pisses everyone off
- to make the visits from the Old Man non-random. I.e. if you qualify (glowy), you automatically get a visit from him the first time you shuttle in a player city
I don't think I'm gonna stop posting until we get that (and it is clearly stated), that is while I don't have to much work at hand (good thing I'm a sysadmin

Can you answer this question..
Why weren't we told that the amount of holo-profs that were required to unlock was changed from 5 to 8?
yes, im very sad about that. why this very important information dont went public. i thought the job of "publicrelations" is to take care about a good relation to the customers...^^

For whatever reason, I'd like to add my 2 cents here. I think the new system works, though I understand the frustration of many. For those who qualified (not me), a timely visit from the old man would be nice. However, I'm quite excited about working my slowly and steadily towards Jedi. That's fine with me. However, TH said in his post that the new path, though not as tough as the old one, was still a mystery. I am also fine with this, however.
A mystery implies some method of deducing the answer.
How will I ever know what to work for to get the old man to take note of me?Is it badges, as many have stated, or something else? I don't want it laid out for me, I just want some place to start looking for the answer. I don't mind working for Jedi, but at least give me some idea of where to start... Just a simple... check this city, or talk to this guy, or some such. It's a big galaxy... and it's going to get bigger soon. A good story and a good mystery offers some intrigue... some place to start. So... where do I start?

Everyone should relax. If you qualify for a visit, you'll get one soon.. Just sit back and enjoy yourself.. You can get a visit in a player city, or in the wild. I got my visit last night(pre10 unlock), in a player city, and it went off without a hitch. I have to admit, it was cool and I almost fell out of my chair even knowing it could happen.. lol Anyhow, now to wait for the Sith to arrive and get owned

90! 90!
Ok i did over 75 badges, been playing since august 03 (when badges didnt exist), need the last badge from the Warren, any Corvette badge, Exar Kuun's temple. I did 12 profs or so until i reached my 'perfect' template, so i aint grinding more profs now.
Doing a check, i see that i feel a faint sense of the force. I guess this means im in group 3-4. How many weeks must i wait to get the old man to visit me? In the mean time ill just grind whatever XP ill be needing to get those branches... which means i'll have to dorp my current prof. sux.
On the other hand, if i get a second slot, must i redo everything (badges, profs) to get another old man visit and get that second alt to be a Jedi?
