Thread: Desired Rewards
A SOJ! (Stone of Jodan)
It had to be said though!

Maybe unique type items that have a limited number of uses such as dot powerups or special mind healing stims .... one shot schematics are good as well.... Also to prevent people from camping the missons have a badge that u get saying it was completed and have the npc check for this and just say "thanks friend"or something..

There should be almost nothing that is a reward that you'd think would be craftable but isnt.
for example... if you do a quest and then get handed some kind of special helmet at the end of it that is unobtainable any other way, well, that annoys me no end, as a tailor.
With Any wearable item (for example) there should never be the cheapo way of just handing the items out. They should be always properly implemented in a way that requires some step in crafting process.
Someone mentioned something like a tooth necklace.
What i'd rather see is instead of being handed a tooth necklace the person completing the quest is handed a tooth.
The person could THEN go and hunt down a tailor to turn that tooth into a necklace. Even if it is just a process of 'apply this to a jewellery setting if you have formal wear IV skill'...
I'd also love to see a way to reverse engineer items into a schematic just as a general addition to the crafting experience. Lots of experimentation on an item, you could break it, but if you get really lucky and invest a bit of time in it you could 'reverse engineer' the item into a schematic. Maybe it is a very limited time schematic, limited use etc... or perhaps it requires some very rare materials to manufacture... but it would give us master crafters something new and interesting to play with once we've maxed out our profession...
Another craftable invoolved Loot idea.
Maps to rare and high quality resource deposits.
Here's a rough idea of a mini-quest/mission resulting from some loot.
You kill some kind of humanoid (maps fromm animals is dumb) NPC/Mob/Monster as described in above and he has on him a type of map that apparently points to some kind of rare worthwile resource deposit.
Now maybe you can decode the map perhaps using some slicing or scout skills - or you could give the map to some kind of scout or slicer to decode for you.
The scout may even need to travel out to it using scout skills and then the scout could return with a waypoint for the original mission taker (unless they are same person...), or when decoded the map could just reveal a waypoint location without needing to travel there first (to scout it out of course)
Okay, either way the original person has a map and a waypoint. so they then hire a surveyor to go out there and check it out. WOW, Awesome uber resource deposit of limited amounts usable by only that person within a limited time.
Original mission finder could either mine it himself and sell/use the resources gathered. Or the person could sell the map with waypoint to a surveyor/crafter/miner etc for a premium amount and they can go mine it themselves.
Great valuable Loot - the map. It can be sold if the person who scored it isnt very mining/crafting inclined.
Doesnt damage player economy since it only produces a raw material that is of no use to anyone but a crafter unless used only for sale etc.
Instead of great resources the map could point to some kind of special crystal supply that acts as a powerup on weapons but must be applied by a weaponsmith.
Or could point to some treasure trove of enhancement items which need to be included in the item at manufacture stage (like bio engineer cloth - eg myoflex) but which adds to skills and abilities etc etc.
this sort of stuff.
A trophy item may need be taken to an architect who makes it mountable (ie droppable in a house)
Bacially any useful loot item should not be instantly usable by the looter but should always undergo an interim process that involves a crafter from one profession or another before it is useful/usable.
Helmet? No - a helmet schematic.
Giant skull? No - an icky bloody head that needs be prepared first before a player can put in in their house.
Uber weapon? No - a schematic for an uber weapon, or a crafter dependent powerup that can make a crafted weapon into an uber weapon.
etc etc & so on
I'm not usually too big on fluff like decorations & whatnot, but there's SO little in this game, we could definitely use some more.
The uber crafting components are great. Badges are good. Faction points are WONDERFUL. (not in piddly amounts).

What reward would motivate you to do a long, hard quest or dungeon?
Please try not to remove the crafter market or unbalance the game or reinvent the game. Also please stay on topic.
A) Unique Artwork (Rare collectibles.. ex. signed painting with a 24 of 1200 issue for example)
B) An advanced crafting componentwith great stats(not achievable by current crafters) but requires a crafter, to achieve a final product of above average quality.
C) Rare letters or memorabilia (Perhaps an old letter from Anikin to Amidala, Large holo of the first deathstar for someone's house)
D) Unbroken items (Working electrobinocs for example)
E) Large sums of hard credits
F) In a Dungeon: A spot on the wall to scribble (soandso was here)
G) In a Quest: Some kind of recognition from the faction, npc or player community that you have achieved that goal (ie. more badges for tougher quests or alternate factional NPC responses after completing a theme park for example "Greetings, most accomplished one... how can we help you today?"
That's about it....

It's been said alot, but decorative objects and tropheys.
How about "books" that talk about the quest. Paintings of your heroic actions. Awards from local officals.
One of my favorite quest rewards so far has been the "offical proclamation" I'd like it even better if it had my name on it when you examined it. I want objects that say I was here, I did this.
...more badges would be nice too.
I would like to see travel tickets departing from the nearest city.
Bianca Minola
A new song, instrument or Special effect; More skill points; Schematic for something neat to build; Stat bonus; A carbine with decent damage that didn't destroy my HAM if i use specials with it;skill bonuses or training not necesarilly withinprofessions (or even random skills from the professions).
Since this isn't a Loot based game the only thing that seems of value issomething that improves the character directly. You go on the quest and the quest giver teaches you something useful without skill pointexpense or gives you a permanant buff of somesort. To keep the crafters at the top of the item chain there is really No item that could be built by a crafter that wil be particularly special as loot.
Currently we'd like to beable to improve our characters but with the Skill point cap there no improvement to be done except by getting worse at something else first.
Schemadics along the line of stuff that you might not usually be able to craft. Something out there for all the crafting classes. That would make for some interesting trades.
We want anything that is UNIQUE! Unique as in anything that isn't CRAFTABLE by crafter. We do not want CDEF or any clothes that are craftable.
We want Paintings,Heads of Animals to hang on wall,Better Skill Tape,One time use Schemtic for craftable item that are UNIQUE.
RUGS! I see rugs in building. I want some Rugs in my house.
UNIQUE!
1. more stuff dropping that has stats already on it.i hear they are in game, haven't found them.
2. more stuff like krayt dragon scales and tissue. in other words. stuff that is used in crafting off creatues. like wingsor feathers that can be used in say tailoring to add skills.
3. schematic drops. these will drop off high level NPC's. they will create a MUCH more superior product. but only from a factory. say limit them to 5 per schematic. they can use specific things in them too.
4. jewelry that has stats on them. perhaps boost lifea little or maybe a skill.
5. resource containers... have them drop randomly generated stats but make it so they drop with like 100 units per thing unlike containers right now that only drop like 1 or 2 units at a time.
6. treasure maps! they're in game with things like "mandalorian armor" well make it work.
7. new armor and weapons that can only drop off mobs. they should have a chance to be better than a crafted item(or comparable to an item enchanced with krayt scales or tissue), but a VERY low chance. in general they should all be equal to or less than a crafted item.
8. clothing with protective attributes. this would be a great loot drop and addition to tailoring. have a cap liek 5-10% or so and this'll make it so its not better than armor but will help everyone out, especially wookies.
9. new traps. they can't be crafted but have different effects. i think these would be a nice addition.
pretty much. you guys didn't want camping to become an issue. the problem is you have seen how the krayts are dropping and how everyone is swarming to them and fighting over the kills. we need more loot that is usable and wanted like the krayt items or it will only get worse on the camping. we need more stuff to spread out the camping.
A lot of us are desperately trying to unlock our force sensitive slot. Don't you think we could get some kind of indication of when we do something that gets us a bit closer? I have two friends left of twenty that started playing at launch with me and this is the last thing keeping me in SWG. I have tons of cash, no points left, master three times, and done so many missions that I feel like a walking NPC. Can we get a little help or just give us some jedi so there is hope for the rest of us. Just make some and tell them to run around with a lightsaber for everyone to see. Help us out Devs....your our only hope...lol...and I really don't want to quit but this is why I am here. Of course there is always Jedi knight Academy and it would save me 15 bucks a month. You folks need to do something.
