Badges (like Project Dead-Eye and Badge Of Intellect)

Gewgaws (Trinkets, like the Bantha Statues or AT-ST Helmets and whatnot)

Rare Weapons (Although not necessarily the best weapons out there, they would be something that crafters couldn't craft...they would look very cool and have their own special thing to them that makes them good in combat, but really, for the most part, it would be for the looks. Ever play Phantasy Star Online? They have regular guns / swords, then they have RARE weapons that are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT looking...one such example in SWG would be a Scythe / Sickle for Swordsmen)

Wearable Badges / Baubles(Unlike the badges like BOI, BOA, and Dead-Eye, these would be wearable so people could see that you have been there and got something cool for it)

IMPORTANT

MAKE SURE PEOPLE WHO HAVE ALREADY DONE THE QUESTS/ THEME PARKS / NPC QUESTSTHAT ARE BEING CHANGED CAN DO IT AGAIN - I HAVE DONE MANY BUGGED MISSIONS AND I DIDN'T GET THE ITEMS I WAS SUPPOSED TO (Like the Maurader Helmet from the Maurader King or various items fromNPC in Moenia Arrek Von Sarko).

The bad thing is the Low Reward. I do a quest from the Jedi Lady in a cave and she gives me a wopping 300c. I do a mission for the Dark Jedi and the last mission is a Jedi Apprentice (very tough bugger) and he gives me...nothing. Nothing at all. Up the credits we get and give us some components so a crafter can make us a better weapon.

Please Read this Devs.

WHY do devs think that making some fun loot would put crafters out of business?

Why cant we get things to decorate with .. like pictures or a special plant or something unique .. we dont need to put anyone out of business> i have 2 master crafters tailor an arch. and it would not hurt me if we found drops that had some unique decorative items.. Obviously you mean to put better things to craft in game anyway.. but just give us some exciting things.. i bet your dev team that handles items for decoration would love to design some cool things to plop in the loot table.

WE dont need to make the game like UO or EQ or Camelot no .. but no rewards as they are is boring .. i canceled my tailor acct master tailor cuz there is nothing exciting about that anymore cant do much. my architect just does maintanence and keeps town houses open.. i play on a ch/smuggler for fun but its not that fun when there isnt any reward for missions or killing an animal.

WE dont need GUN of uberness or Armor of uberness items. Just some simple things. IDeas i have are:

Different plants for decor.

paintings

maybe a special Dye that has some way out color or a true black color

statues. ( remember Uo)

Neon Items or dye.

something that would go on something that was crafted by our good crafters.

that way it would increase sales for crafters as ppl would buy more items so they could dye them with dye they got as a drop someplace.

maybe one time use items im stiring clear of buffs for weapons in my ideas cuz they area all so powerful as is.

Those are a few ideas anyway.

Please we beg you give us something that is fun. not cdefs

Simply items that cannot be obtained by crafters. Such as the already mentioned paintings and various other artifacts.

The trasure maps seems like a really good idea. Maybe make them off planet and harder to obtain for better loot.

Maybe even maps that lead to special missions. Have them give detailed information of what the missions are about (whether detroy or delivery). Assign them a diffivulty level with a wide range that will promote both travelling to other planets and grouping. These missions are only obtainable through loot and should provde further good loot and the placed mission.

Ex.

Map Title: Maruaders raid city

Objective: Destroy all Marauders

Difficulty level: 200

Expected Resistance: 5 Marauders

Planet: Endor

Waypoint: -81 2526

The possibilities are endless on this because each mission can envolve never before seen creatures and/or NPC's. This gives each class to hunt, tame, or even just awe at something that has not been seen before. Again, these creatures/NPC's can only be found by finding such disks on lootandwould have to be extremely rare.

A special badge.

Loot. An especially good crafting component. A unique schematic that a crafter can use to make a one-off item for me. And yes, the odd uncraftable item now and then. Quality must be high for any loot item!

Idiosyncratic objects. Trophies. House decor.

Access to more quests.

Access to content that's only visible while working through the quest.

Unique pets. Low-level fluff pets, not the high-level CH pets.

Experience.

Faction rank and perqs (from factional quests).

Quest rewards should *always* reflect the flavor of the quest.

What I think would be cool to see as rewards would be different kinds of artifacts. The problem might be that there wouldn't be much uniqueness to them, but I am thinking of something like the golden idol at the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark, or maybe some Jedi artifact like a Jedi Holocron, or a statue of some legendary figure *cough*mace windu*cough*yoda*cough*

First of all randomize it. If I do quest A for Jabba I get Item 'X' but if you do Quest A for Jabba you may get Item 'Q'. Now the items available are quest type specific. IE Rebel, Jaba, Solo, Akbar and what have you. The catch is there are more items than quests in that set, so you can't farm an item by doing a specific quest.

I would like to see something along the lines of Rank. I mean I can get a ton of Imperial faction points and then trade them in for Stormtrooper armor, But if I do a tough imperial quest maybe I get half the normal faction points and a promotion to a new rank, the rank would bestow upon me a percentage drop in faction points for specific items and unlock new items for me.

IE I do a Imp quest that is worth 500 faction points and get 250 instead, but I am also raised up to lieutenant. Now to make this work, I can't keep doing easy missions to move up in rank so there will need to be a tier system (250-500 faction point missions will raise you to lieutenant once you're there you will always just get faction points, 501 -1500 faction point missions will get you Brevet Captain and then just faction points again) And new items could be things like the Black Stormtrooper armor you see in a couple imp controled cities, and maybe you can get a mouse droid, and simple things like that. I would like to see unique things that aren't necessarily better, just not common. Black Stormtrooper armor is no better than standard white, but it is cooler (on that note I would like to see the imperial armor Luke wore in Shadows of the Empire, Red Imp armor would be so cool)

You of course would do the same thing with Rebels, including your rank showing when you are overt. Adjust faction point rewards for killing opposite factions based on rank.

I would love this for smaller factions like CorSec.

So as far as rewards go, you earn like you are now and have the ability to "purchase" unique things from your faction along with getting unique items from quests, but not necessarily the same your buddy got for the same quest.

I definitely agree with what has been said I assume a few times thusfar on this thread. Schematics Schematics Schematics. The obvious problem is the identical resources, would be extremely difficult to match up...

To solve this problem you could create a tool or add a feature to the existing tools, possibly just for looted schematics, that would allow a player to change the resources used in the looted schematic.

Just a thought.

I'd also like more house decorations, more trophy items... more rugs, more paintings, more planets.. then again...

Theme parks, Dungeons, Creatures and NPC'sneed unique items. These would not effect the crafter-friendly environment.

I'll list some examples:

  1. Scout Helmet (like the one you get from Wedge and Kitster)

  2. Rebel/Imperial uniforms. (like the uniforms the rebel troopers are wearing in A New Hope, in the opening scene)

  3. Toys for house placement, or trading. (Such as Tie fighters, Stormtroopers, Snowtroopers, Scout Bikers,X-wings, B-wings, Star Destroyers. The best, and most rare, being the Death Star!) You know, miniatures.

  4. Unique furniture. (A chair made of a Merek skeleton and Bantha hide would be comfy)

  5. Clothing that just looks cool.

  6. Hunting Trophies (The head of a Rancor, Krayt or Kliknik would great over the Guild hall fire place... if there were a guild hall fire place)

  7. I love the idea of the treasure maps... but why is it that the Pirates that made mine buried their treasure in the first place? You can buy it all on the Bazaar for 20c or get it free as a newbie!

One last thing:

they leave a lot to be desired... A LOT. What is the point after I have mastered two professions, joined/started a guild, and visited every planet.

If the game is based around crafting... why are there only three types of head gearI can get?

Shouldn't leveling and quests go hand in hand? I level so I can go to Endor to do the Maurader quests, I level so I can hunt in the Night Sister cave. If these do nothing but give more XP, and trips back to the cloning station, what do I care if they are there? I personally have been grinding away so I can go and experience the harder things in the game. I have done a few, with more and more dissapointing results.

We do not want to put crafters out of business by making dropped loot better than the best crafted items.

Well, that's pretty much what I want. The crafting game, even one as annoying as this one's, is ultimately shallow and boring. I've already got the best gun I can get -- someone might have made a bettter T21 than what I'm using but it will only be fractionally better -- and frankly since you couldn't even get the weapons progression right for the initial release I'm not holding my breath for more "elite" weapon designs to show up, or for them to be worthwhile if they should.

Of course, this means you probably couldn't get the loot right either.

I saw a lot of people asked for "unique schematics" or somesuch...um, that will have the same effect as making dropped gear better than crafted, except for the tiny bit of Crafter Welfare involved in needing someone to put the schematic to use and push combine. Lots of requests for house decorations -- at 75 items, I don't have space to decorate my house, and since everything goes on the floor, I couldn't anyway.

At the end of the day the rewards have to be worth the investment needed to achieve them, and the only currency that can be measured in is time. If I could have done just as well for myself farming another thousand units of herbivore meat or whatever the week's hot resource is, then I won't be pleased. No one wants things that just look cool -- even people who say they just want things that just look cool. People want things that are going to improve their character, and if they don't offer more improvement than the local vendor, people will not be happy with them. Someone is going to be unhappy, either the crafters or the hunters, and personally I think the game will be better off with few crafters and lots of hunters than the other way around.
