I have spent 4 days straight hunting npc and have only found 2 parts and they werent even for MY KIT! Whoever says the spawn rates are fine isnt even bothering to think. I dont want to complete it in 1 day but since i can only have ONE kit i would like to be able to ATLEAST get 1 part for THAT kit per day. That would mean in 10 days I should be able to get 10 items for a SINGLE kit. As it is I cant even get someone to trade these two tables pieces for statue pieces because everyone who doesnt even have a statue kit is still hording them out of greed. There are roughly 100 different items for all the loot kits, yet you can only complete 1 kit at a time. At the drop rate of 1 - 2 a day it could take as much as 50 days to get all 10 items for a single kit.

Also wanted to point out that I looted 32 force crystals in that same 4 days.. so much for making those rare. At this late stage in the game I should NEVER be looting broken impulse detectors.. replace that crap with these loot-kit parts.

- It's time the devs end the bitter fighting by giving the community a Non Jedi server. We have a few servers with TINY populations that could be changed to this ruleset. I support this idea because it punishes noone. - You can support it too. Click Here!

I find the drop rate OK. Otherwhise they wouldn't be rare items anymore and loose in value pretty soon. This is not something you should be able to complete in one day. Leavethe kitin your bank box - forget about it - and from time to time you'll loot a part.

What I find minorly amusing is the fact that a "Blue Rug" is more rare than an "Ackley Stun Batton" or "Geonosian Rifle" and dare I say it.... a "Holocron". There in lies the problem. These items are decor, they don't lead you to unlocking your jedi, They don't cause DOT dammage to an opponent, and they sure aren't "ubber". Why should a rug be more rare than items that actually serve a purpose? Or even more to the point, why should a rug I see in every capitol building, &NPC house be something so rare that it costs 1 Million or moreto purchase or (assuming a drop rate of 1 part per day) 50 days to assemble? Somethings wrong here.

WOOT! one week and I have finally gotten one part. The glass table base. Problem is that i am trying to do the blue rug not the table. I have killed hundreds of NPCs.

Loot tables need to be fixed. anythign over 10k HAM should be 100% loot drops. Higher than 20k HAM should have good stuff. Higher than 50K should have awesome stuff.

In two hours last night and two hours the night before I killed18Black Sun assassins (30k HAM),85black sun henchmen (whimps), 3black sun ghosts (95k HAM), and 1 Wraith (130k HAM).

Total loot included:

2DE pistol schem worthless without barrel

1 alum gas thing

1 data pad

1 glass table base

3k in credits

the assassins, ghosts, and wraith did not drop any loot. only a couple credits. These are the NPCs that should drop the really good stuff. DEVs please dont have us waste our time. Meatlumps should have low drop rates and low credits.

I use to spend 6-8 hours playing SWG. I am down to 4 hours because of no incentive to play.

  • Super battle droids are insanely difficult

  • jedi are kill stealers

  • loot rates low (rewards)

  • crafting is getting boring because there is nothing new (limited use schems are limited)

  • respawn rates in mini dungeons is so slow (out of 5 caves i visited one night 4 had been cleared) Respawn rates should equal the geo lab on these low level dungeons

  • mag seals are always locked or someone has alreads looted it. Make mag seals and trash heaps spawn stuff for each player based on triggering the cave.

  • spend an hour waiting for the acklay and some other group steals the kill. been on both sides I know how it feels. Somethign like the acklay should give loot to every player who had a hand in killing it. ANything over 100k should.

My observations and rants. I guess i will get my blue rug by the next anniversary.

Of course you looted that many crystals!!

JEDI EQUALS MONEY!

Pacify the consumer! Give them EVERYTHING they want as long as they keep the subscription.

KOTOR was a huge smash, SWG wants a taste of that Jedi Centric success.

Thunderheart,

I acquired my look kit with no trouble. I then proceeded to pick up half of my pistol 4 (Marksman) skill, and all of the first three Rifle skills, as well as complete the first 9 Jabba's Palace theme park quests, all killing exclusively humanoid enemies, and all without finding a single item for my Blue Rug loot kit.

Could you perhaps increase the drop rates on the loot tables for humanoid NPCs? In addition, could you flag the items that can be used in a loot kit as such? This is a wonderful idea, and I'd like to see you guys expand on it to create even more diverse and interesting loot kits.

More Loot Kit ideas:

- A dye kit for clothing (perhaps 4 charges?)

- A spoiler, hood ornament,or other decoration for player vehicles

- A decorative attachment for droids

- +Skill items to plug into clothing and armor slots

- A unique weapon powerup that lasts 200 shots

Please continue to develop ideas like this - additional player activities only helps the game, and as long as the rewards are kept interesting, players will feel that these types of activities are worth pursuing.

And hey, how about some more low- to mid-level quests

This thread is asking for FEEDBACK. Conversation is nice, I'll admit, but generally FEEDBACK is one way.

As to all the people complaining about drop rates give it a rest. ENJOY the fact that there's something to do, or the occational loot item that isn't a cdef or locked container or pair of used hotpants. These Loot Kits weren't added with the intent of totally fixing loot or the game as a whole, and in the end if you care about them or not it really wont have that large of an impact.

So sit back, play the game like you played before the 'loot kits" went in and a month or two down the line take a look at the loot you've collected and spend a little time trying to find the extra parts you need to the items you happen to be close to.

Killing things for the sole purpose of making a kit, or even starting with a specific loot kit you have no parts for and "trying" to make just that one just isn't going to do anything but get you know where and piss you off - as this thread shows.

I don't think that's something to be overly sad about, Verocit. As it stands, myself and two others in my guild have FOUND (still) only five items total. And I've been hunting solely NPCs since the publish. I've found four but haven't found any for days now, another found one the day after the announcement, and the third has found no kit pieces at all after over one thousand kills since the publish. I honestly do not know how someone could have already completed even one item, even working with others... Even with the other two people who are working with me, we only have two pieces of the five that are from the same kit. We do have seven - the additional two were purchased. Even so, we still don't have even half a complete kit.

I figure I've spent around 20 hours working on this since publish. I know the other two have spent more time than me, playing. Last time I logged in, the place I sat myself down for /logout was AFK camped even. It's nice that they wanted to make collectors items, but it might have been nice to make it somewhat possible for less-than-hardcore players to collect these things too. I mean at a rate of more than (at best) 1/5 an item or possibly two after a week of hard work at it.

And for anyone who says, "Just play the game and you'll get one eventually." Well, that kinda doesn't sit well with 'collector' type players, who want to go quest for the rare item so they can have it and show it off. That lineonlyflies with players who do other things first and "oh, I've got a new furniture piece - guess I'll go put it in my house somewhere" as an afterthought. Some of us want to ACHIEVE these things. Get them. Collect them. Make our homes look nice with them. And at this rate, we'll all master two or three combat professions before we finish our first piece.

I, for one, think it's good that they're going to increase the drop rates. I do hope it's not a lot. But I want to feel like I've made some progress in the 'quest'. Right now, I can honestly say that I got all four of my pieces in the first 10 hours of killing and I haven't seen anything in the 10 hours since. I think that might just be a little TOO random/rare.

Have I tried to get the loot for the kit? Well, let's just say that I had much better success at cash-dashing than getting the loot for this thing. Mokks, Jantas, stray rebs, bandits, and the occasional FS is good for all kinds of loot, ranging from sticks and stones to crystals, but loot for this kit? Not a bloody chance...

Yeah, let's up the loot drop for this thing, shall we? If it's only gonna be worth 1K to Watto, then we might as well make it worthwhile to the rest of us.

I was excited to hear about these things, cause they sounded like a great thing to add some meaning to the usual worthless loots you find on NPCs. I was even MORE excited to find out they dropped off low level NPCs since I have little combat ability. I started off over the 4th of july weekend to get myself a gong!

Saturday hunted NPCs outside both cities on rori. Found nothing. Moved on to corellia... nuthin! Went on to naboo... nuthing!8 hours hunting with no more than a few locked containers and combat knives.

Sunday hunted a few more hours on naboo with nothing to show. Ran into the usual AFKers in Moenia and figured what the hell... the DEVs support and seem to encourage AFK, so I make a simple macro and set up near a npc spawn point and go to the movies. SpiderMan was awesome!

5 hours later I return to find 3 loot kit parts on my little afk-bot! Nearly 20 hours of actual hunting with nothing to show for it and only 5 hours of afk and I hit the mother-lode! I AFK'd on the 4th too, while I was out bar-b-quing... 2 more pieces!

I hardly ever critisize, cause I love this game, but DAMN! can't you devs add some content that DOES NOT encourage AFK? Most of the professions can be AFK'd... the best loot can be found by afkers who just stand next to a loot container with a repeating /loot macro running. You can master a combat profession with NO effort by just leaving a macro running in a heavy spawn point. Hell! I bet someone out there has a business macroing masters to sell on E-bay!

Loot kits... the best reason yet to not actually "play" SWG!

Just wanted to mention that i see it going ona lot too, but you dont hit motherlodes on afk-looting all the time, i only afk when i go to sleep... (if I can find an npc spawnpoint)... about 4 hours before server shut-down.

Some times i find uberloot, others - just the basic clothing, broken stuff, disks galore, and maybe ONE kit item.... and a full inventory that I now need to delete (30+items).

But all the same, i do find a lot of nice loot on Jantas... crystals, loot kit items, etc.

I like the way the system is set up-- looks like you need to kill certain things to actually find the loot... it's all a matter of semantics...

NEway.

I have 2 extra #2 Gong Segments if anyone wants to trade on chilastra.

Maybe the better suggestion is to re-seed the loot to lower-level spawns... then have UBER loot-kits with loot that have segment spawns on High-Level mobs...

That would discourage AFK looting for UBER loot.

Simple fix, no headache.
