Thread: Thoughts on the Warren?
My thoughts on the Warren.
People are at the Warren on my server and finding the escapee who spawns and getting all the keys they can and then selling them for 80-100k a piece. I dont know about you, but I really think the key should have been a quest you start at the imperial outpost. it should be given by a neutral npc at the post that may be looking for his sister or brother or even family member, and he sends you to the warren in search of the person. this is where you can meet up with the escapee and they give you a key. it would be a non tradeable, non transferable key.
this is my 2 cents.

/logout works well for those of you stuck in the warren...
but this sucks - devs, learn to code a dungeon that wont ask for a key every time you go thru a door...
[> BEGIN SENTINEL EVALUATION, priority=low <]
Imperial Testing Facility, Codename: "The Warren"
Sentinel agents were dispatched to investigate missing persons and possible misuse of funds on the Dantooine facility. Penetration of base defenses was an easy task, due to a lone worker standing closeto the entrance. Sentinel staff advised this person to evacuate, due to a possible reactor instability. The worker apparently was not listening.
Once inside, the team swept the first level maintaining battle fomation. Very reluctantly, the team cleared out some imperial workers, and loose pets. Radar revealed several other non-sentinel agents in the facility, and one other team. Questions were raised as to why were other agencies called in on this job.
The team reached the med center, and found two corpses, and several other imperial troops standing over them. Team leaders questioned the other agents and it was revealed that the corpses would provide information and access keys once every 20-30 minutes. Also it was made clear that there was a line for access to this information, andour team wasat the end of it.
Thegroup then broke into disarray, receiving warnings, insuts and threats from other allied agents. Chaotic exploration of the rest of the remainder of the base commenced.
Realizing that other teams had already unlocked several of the doors we needed to access, many of the team made it deep inside the facility.
After40 minutes, two of the team had been killed, two were still waiting in the med center for the corpse to give the clues, and two were trapped in the lower levels.
Eventually, the group got frustrated, and left the facility. Many of the keysthat werefoundwere absorbed into the locks somehow, andthe team is now unable to continue where theyleft off.
Hopefully the other agencies in the facility were successful, as they made it impossible forthe sentinel team to complete this task.

spawn times on the warren are way way too long, i mean a group of 5 people that want to complete the warren have to wait 4x 45 minutes to do them
that means they have to fight the creatures over and over and over again while they get the discs off the npc corpses.
needs to be addressed with the fixes to the reactor core
We found out how to get the warren to stop eating keys on bloodfin.
Disconnect and come right back then get a key. This has worked for a bunch of ppl.
Well Holo it looks like your precious Warren is bugged to hell. My question is are you going to fix it, or even respond to the comments here, or do you only respond to threads which have positive messages in them?
In case you don't know what the problem is, here's a brief synopsis:
Basically to get in you need a key, which you pick up from an Escapee nearby. That's all fine and dandy, but the trouble starts as soon as you get into the Warren. Basically for any door or doorWAY you go through, you need the key, but once it is used it gets deleted from your Inventory.
To get round this,the group I was withlast night, emptied our backpacks and picked up 50+ keys...but guess what...you need a key to get through the door IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. So eventually we were nearly all stuck inside with no way of getting out....apart from via duelling and db'ing.
This bug almost drove me from the game it is SO OBVIOUS. I cannot believe it can possibly happen if this has been tested. And if it is a bug due to a hotfix, then fix it with another hotfix.
By the way this happened on Eclipse.
well, me and afriend decided to get a small group together sunday and check out the warren, sunday afternoon we didnt have a single problem with the entry keys or anything, but there was a huge problem with people camping{for several hours}the corpse's, lockers, etc. that the required items spawn in!
then yesterday afternoon i decided to go back and try again, wouldnt you know that everyone i seen was having the same problem with the entry keys, im talking way away from the entrance on a totally different level even!
so far what i can see from what ive been able to check out, i think that the idea/concept is a great one and is a major step in the right direction, however there are a few bugs with it that needs to be fixed asap...
#1 fix the entry key bug
#2 fix the times that the letters, keys, etc. spawn once inside the warren{a static spawn would be great, this would also keep some people from selling the items for extremely high prices as everyone would be able to get their own...as intended}
#3 there have been several reports that the spoken code is also bugged and some people cant enter the cell
#4 fix the reactor rod bug{this ones on the fix list, but that about the others?}
it rocks!! well... for the most part.
if you don't fix the letter for the badge of compassion this thing is gonna get worse. i waited over 4 hours to get mine. and it happened because i happened to log on and be in there when no one else was around.
last night the same guy kept getting hte letter. he had teh timer down to a T and kept taking it. and hten.. he would offer to sell it for 100k.
this all comes down to the fact that we don't want CAMPING for items in SWG. remember???? that was one of the reasons given us for not putting loot in. well this item is getting camped. it either needs to be a 1 time only deal, or it needs to be no drop like the data disk from act2 so that people won't grab more than one. and it needs to spawn more often so that when someone DOES take the item, i don't have to sit an hour and then be on the edge o my seat about to have a heart attack when someone else steals the letter after i've been waiting 3 +hours for it in one sitting.
other than that, its challenging and well designed. more of these would be good, and some that are like this but more soloable wouldnt hurt either.
