Report from my live server avatar on Chilastra.

My live server rebel guild tried the corvette and found it to be impossible to beat. They got to the first hallway before losing all ten players. 5 of the players were advanced master professions and fully buffed. They still lost.

Also this corvette quest has turned into a griefing fest where even the CSR's have turn deaf ears to complaints. Case in point Moniea was one of the areas for the corvette and the BC (black company) guild was out in force greifing rebel players who were waiting on getting either on the shuttle or heading from the starport to the corvette shuttle. (a lot of rebel players have taken screenshots and filed complaints but they were either ignored or told outright that BC was doing legal combat)

This needs to be addressed ASAP and CSR's need to crack down on these griefers and stop supporting them. And SOE needs to crack down on the CSR's that supprt these griefers and ignore's player complaints and screenshots.

It is really freaking hard but I'm glad I need a challenge and need a place that I cannot solo the entire place.

Ona side note I have not completed any of the rebel quests but if I understand correctly the reward for rebels compelting this thing is a suit of Marine armor that just has blast resis too and a rebel logo on it. I looted one of these chestplates from an armoire up their earlier. If so this is a complete waste of time. Iheard about a pistol schematic and I want that but it is probably harder or just as hard to get as the darn geo pistol schematic is and rebels need some love. I mean heck it is kind ascrewed up that imps can pull AT_ST's out on a corvette. I mean that is totally screwed up. Anyway I request that the award for the rebels gets a much needed boost.

Ithink maybe the Devs are taking revende on us after we have been slaughtering thousands of their *previously* most powerful Mobs like Krayts and Sisters.

They prolly sat down one day and said "Okay, I'm tired of those brats killing everything in the game so easy...lets show them who the BOSS!!"

I think it's awesome. And sad too. In order to make it so the most powerful Flavor of he Month templates couldn't beat it handily, they put it WAY out of reach of the "regular" players. But thats fine. I say leave it like it is. They can watch for those who beat it, and use it as a test to find who has exploited weapons/armor!

I'm sure that when the Combat Balance finally gets in they will balance this with the game as a whole. But its impossible to balance the game when you have the problems we have with over-powered...oops..."unbalanced" combat professions. I never planned to go here. I might go, naked, just to see the entry way. heheheh

Well, I'll tell you what happened to my group.

My guild met on Corellia, spent 30 minutes getting full doctor and entertainer buffs and slicing our brand new uber armor that our armorsmith made for us just for this mission. Then we hopped a transport and spent an hour and a half running around Dathomir trying to figure out how the mission worked and where we had to go to get the ticket. Then we flew back to Corellia, spent another half hour getting rebuffed, then found out we had to go to the rebel base. Went all the way out there. By the time we were all there and ready to fly to the corvette it was 3 hours later. We went up to the corvette and were all massacured in about 6 minutes. 50 minutes later we were all still running around trying to get to the escape pods to leave but getting one-shot-incapped over and over by the NPCs. I died many times and my brand new uber armor is totally shot. Between the repeated decay and the massive hits I took it's in very disappointing condition for a brand new set of armor.
Four hours after we started it, we were all sitting with a bunch of other people at the rebel base licking our wounds and talking about how we didn't even get a chance to really do anything. And this is a good group of fighters. We went in with a master squad leader, master combat medic, master doctor, and numerous masters of combat professions and between us we have done very well over the months. We did the Geo Lab without a single death and had great fun doing it. But this corvette destoryed us in 6 minutes. It was a total waste of time, three hours spent trying to get there, a total bust for fun because we died right away figthing the NPCs, and totally frustrating because we couldn't even leave because we kept getting shot down and/or slain again and again.
I like a good challenge but this place is WAY to hard.

Hard, yes, but I don't think TOO hard. Our group loved it and can't wait to go back for more tomorrow.

I hate to say it, but it seems like the two "weakest" profs in the game are guys you need up there. Commandos and BHs. Those are your two guys dealing out the damage. Commandos with the flame DoT, and BHs with state controls, LLC single 2, and torso shot (scatter). Almost everything up there has lowest resists against elect and acid. Your tanks are Pikemen with LVA and Pistoleers with DX2s. Add a combat medic and a doctor, and go at it slowly, taking small groups of enemies at a time. Our first time thru we made it to the very end with 30 mins to spare before all hell broke loose and we lost control. A few tweaks to our roster (didn't havea BH with us and CM didn't have health poison) and we'd have been all set.

If there's anything I would change, it would be a med bay area for wound healing and rebuffing. But overall, EXCELLENT job on this. The quests for finding the documents to get your ticket were very thoughful and very fun. I felt like I actually had to DO something rather than just go here, do this, come back. I did the rebel missions out of Tyrena, and just went poking around the 3 locations till I found what I needed. I'd never gotten around to the Warren before, so it was fun seeing that for the first time.

We'll definitely be back up there tomorrow. Thanks for the great adventure!

I think you've hit on what this is all about.

Beat this thing (I refuse to sink into the sithspit EQ morass and call it a "dungeon") and it's proof you're using exploits.

Excellent. You get through this, you're banned.

I like this . I like this very much. Go ahead, uber cheaters. Take on the Corvette and saygood bye.

An addendum:

It seems that some groups have found the weakness, and it's to have a couple of not so obvious members of the team: commandos and BHs. Templates that are non-FOTM, and therefore anathema to the min/max FPS crowd.

So, if you're a team of all FOTM types, and you get through it, you're using exploits. If you attack this as it was intended to be taken on...you're actually using your head and not relying on the brute force/exploit approach.

Curious.....

Factioned deaths are not suppose to have decay if you are insured, that is my understanding. If the corvette missions are not faction then what is? My point is, I died many times and after the first death I started taking massive decay penalties on items in my inventory. There is no way to insure on the ship and I am under the impression that I should not take decayin Factioned deaths anyways. So can this please be addressed????

I soloed it this morning with two others, you just have touse your brain. We had a master image designer with us. All we did was ask all enemies if they would like a make-over (for which they all agreed) then we proceeded to beat them all around the head with a fishing pole.

I would like to keep this post contructive, but it will be hard, so please forgive me if I get out of hand. I like the idea of the 9 quests. I thought it was interesting how POI's have been used to get us around and keep the mission interesting. It's still not all that complex, but I prefer it to the Geo cave or The Warren. I had a good experience until I actually got to the corvette. Now I went with just one of my guildmates. We weren't expecting to get very far. We mainly wanted to see it and get an idea of what it is like. Well, he's a master doc/ master swords, and I'm a TKM. We get there and really get beat down hard. Even with 80% across the board composite. That's pretty messed up. I ran into a problem he didn't experience. But it ruined my entire time there. I kept getting 8k pings with 1fps. Only by shutting my pc down did it solve my problem. If the servers can't handle it, maybe the corvette shouldn't have been released. I experienced graphical problems. Graphical glitches, and my text actually changed to a different font. I have all the latest drivers and updates for my system. I didn't have a problem with swg aside from LAG before this, nor have I any problems with any other game. This leads me to believe the game is at fault and the corvette was released way immaturely. If the dev's cant release stable updates, I wish they'd keep them under wraps until they can be enjoyed.

After 4 attempts only to run out of time when we are so close, I think I'll wait for the FAQ (or the quest difficulty going down). Heh, we even had a 4/4/4/4 Dark Jedi with us and we still got slowed down by the Mobs. If not for the time limit, we might have had it.

Also, direction in this quest is terrible. If you have to read a faq on how to get the ticket or what to actually do in order to win the mission; then some1 is not doing their job. All you are told to do in your mission is to either assasinate, destroy, or rescue. That's great, but who and where do I need to do this? The mini-map got confusing as hell seeing as it's not 3-D; People started arguments over where the actual objective was (I heard stories of random people getting so pissed at one another that they disbanded and ejected); And it's easy to get lost seeing as many corridors lead right back to where you were (doesn't help that the Corvette must have been designed by a symmetrical ink-blot artist :/ ).

I can truly appreciate trying to make a dungeon hard, but IMO this is almost impossible without the best of situations and knowing what to do before hand. 90% armor is a must; Godly buffs in every stat (I'm talking master doc, dancer, musician, spice, brandy, and yes: powerboost) and you might have a chance at surviving9-10 blasts from one of the higher Mobs; and Def stacking. Note: we all had this and were masters of our profession AND a Dark Jedi, but it just takes too long to kill the Mobs. With a time limit of one hour, short of running past most of the NPC's, it's impossible to kill them all (defeating the purpose of getting uber loot en route ) and make it to the objective in time.

So tone down the NPC's or at least reduce their numbers and put a homing beacon on that damn objective! A little blip on the mini-map would go a long ways towards success. BTW, Rebel Sailors? Might as well have them singing the "YMCA" and that would explain why they drop heavy duty leather

Otherwise, GJ on alienating all players that can't afford the best of the best and even those that can. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go solo a Krayt using conceal shot...
