Ummm, something certainly appears to be wrong with the old man visits. Reading posts from people in this thread and on galaxy boards the majority of people getting visits have only done a few professions. The post 9 unlockers and the holo grinders seem to have been missed. Looks like someone screwed up the code and got the group visits backwards. Which is probably why they haven't said anything in 24 hours. God, I love SOE's commitment to customer service and honesty.

The real reason is likely that no one has asked a single thing that they didn't already answer. Just because you don't like the answer, or have difficulty understanding/comprehending it, doesn't mean it wasn't answered.

I might add this....they don't answer because it is not meant to be answered. Some stuffs are best to be found out by players, just like players pieced together the 5 unknown professions as the path to the Jedi late last year. You will find out in due time.
Not everybody wants to know every freaking thing.

Ok. Just to calm the masses. The only requirments I met was getting the NEW SYSTEM requirements before publish 10 was initiated. I logged in fo the first time and was glowing. 5 minutes ago I was visited by the Old Man. I was not alone and was in a Player City outside the Cantina

OMG, I've never heard more whining in my life. And all of you say basically the same thing "I'm a customer and I pay for a service and you need to do it this way and that way"... Yes, you are the customer and, yes, you do pay for the service so if you dont like the service then dont pay for it. I mean when you go to KFC, if you dont like the chicken do you tell the Colonel he should bake it instead of fry it? No, you just leave and go somewhere else.
As for me, I like mine extra crispy, so flame away you whiners

You are not "last in line". Several folks who qualified under the new system and not the old (myself included) have gotten their visits. As TH said in his initial post those who qualify under the new system will automatically get their visit. Just be patient and look for the old traveller on the horizon.

Ok,
No whining here, no complaining, I think we all realize that we were lied to anyhow. I just want to know now why I am in group 1, but others that were in group 4 have already been visited? Maybe I am dyslexic and read backwards, but auto's and group 1 2 and 3 were supposed to be before the "badge grinders"

Every report I've read has said that the old man approached them within 30mins of logging on.
My Theory:
If he doesn't appear within say an hour of when you first log on, then he isn't going to appear to you until next server up, or until they change the *filter*(if that can be done while the server is up)for who gets the visit.
Yesterday, I sat on a mountain top for 10 hours on Tatooine, watching the sunset/sunrise and T.V.
I hope my post saves a few peoplefrom the anguish of waiting.

TH posted that those who qualified under the new system as of pub 10 were "autos".

well, now that we are on page 83 or 84 after 1 day of the publish....i have seen all of TH posts and he is very ellusive..first he tells ppl 1-3 days until they see the old man. I know of no-one on any server seeing old crusty dude on pub day...now I hear of non-prof grinders(glowing) seeing the dude 1 day after pub. I been glowing like a candle since pub 10 came live and got 21 profs under the belt. I played my normal routine last night doing solo group killing mobs and did so tonight...no old man visit??? Yes, it is secret but as TH said if you are player A :did 32 profs or player B: met new requirements when pub 10 went live (glowing) you rate a visit by old man. I think there are more untold things behind that. Hey, the changed holos from 5 to 8....they can and do anything they want. AIN'T that a bummer!!!!
Anyway, I think I will se my dude tomm. night and all you grinders will see yours Friday night. If not don't expect a explination from Devs..they are off weekends camping in the mountians.

P.S. IS there a way to filter out just to see TH's post? I spent last 45 minutes scrolling through every page just to read what ThunderHeart has to say... May the force be with those who deserve it!

i'm not whining .. i was just curious and since i spent the last hour trying to sift through all the crying and whining with no answer i thought i'd ask out right. I really don't beleive they should just hand us jedi. I need something to work towards.I'm only surgingwith the force after 11 professions 4 of them holos, the3 jedi POIs,3 Difficult location badges,3 easy location badges. I'm just trying to understand how it works. I figure i need to go do some content badges and 2 or3 more easy badges. since we're all gonna have to wait max out your xpfor when it comes time to trade it in on jedi xp.

Kinda hoped someone official would answer me, but... 
Sadly, this is day 2 of waiting. Tomorrow is day 3. I spent a good 12 hours waiting today, dunno I want to continue with this route. Perhaps I'll just forget about these quests, like I've forgotten about almost all other new content, which I can't do for various reasons. Sadly, I find myself wondering why I keep paying, much like others here. Killing Janta is only amusing for so long, and I think I'm nearing the end of that stretch.
However, I'll stay positive, go back to my Janta hunts and forget this experience. Here's to hoping I'm pleasantly surprised in the end.
